A/N: Here a quick word to all. I'm currently making an arc before the key members of Fairy Tail return to show how strong the MC become grinding on his skills on the perfect opponents to go all out... the Secret Boss Rush Quest Arc.

Chapter 155: Announcements!!

~Third POV~

[December 8, X784]

After getting visited by Selene Silva spent most of his time grinding as much as he could before the eventful day came starting the events that would surely cause the beginning and the end of his daily life.

He grinded till the day finally came on December 8, X784 inside the Fairy Tail Guild as everyone was talking to each other clamoring between them for the anticipated event that only occurs once every year.

Everyone waited patiently for the event to occur everyone waiting for this moment till finally the curtains on the Guild revealed Makarov, Mira, Gildarts, and Erza as the crowd went wild of the event.

"Master!!!!"

"This is what we've been waiting for!!"

"Hurry up and make the announcement!"

"Who's it going to be this year?!"

Seeing the excitement on the Fairy Tail member's faces Makarov began to explain to his children clearing his throat and yelling for all to hear, "AHEM. In an ancient tradition of Fairy Tail… I present… the list of wizards eligible to take the S-Class Wizard Qualification Test!!"

"OOOOOOOO!!!!"

Everyone in the Guild yelled out in excitement as Lucy sweated in shock at the news, "S-Class Wizard Qualification Test?!!"

*GWOOAAH*

Natsu replied feeling fired up at the news in excitement, "I'm all fired up!!!!"

Makarov continues to explain sternly where the test will take place, "And the location of this year's test… Tenrou Island!!! The sacred grounds for our guild."

Everyone in the guild began to discuss themselves about the test.

"OOOHHHHH!!!"

"How do they do this test?"

"It's different every year."

"The only thing the same is that it's always really hard."

"After all, anybody who passes becomes an S-Class wizard!"

Amongst them talking Makarov clenches his fist as he begins to discuss the number of people participating in the test this year, "I have spent this past year trying to discern each wizard's power, heart, and soul… there will be nine eligible wizards!! Natsu Dragneel! Gray Fullbuster! Juvia Lockser! Elfman! Anna Alberona! Fried Justine! Levy McGarden! Mest Gryder! Silva Knights!"

Listening to the names being called out Silva smirked seeing his name being called as Mavis nearby congratulated him for such an achievement, "Good job Silva! Being called upon like Juvia being the same generation is quite the achievement."

Silva merely smirked happily at the idea blushing from her comment making Mavis smile happily responding sticking her tongue out cutely, "But don't think I'll help you cheat old friend. You're on your own in that department."

Silva laughed agreeing to Mavis's terms as Makarov continued explaining the rules of this year's S-Class test qualifications, "This time only one will be allowed to pass the qualification test. The test will take place in one week from now! Go make sure you're in top shape! Now, since we have first-timers here… we'll go over the rules."

Mira speaks to the crowd about the rules of the S-Class Trial in a cheerful tone, "During the one week long preparation time, each of the 8 chosen wizards… must pick a single partner."

Everyone was shocked by the news as Erza followed up explaining in a stern tone, "There are two rules when choosing a partner. First, your partner must be a Fairy Tail member. Second, you may not partner with an S-Class Wizard."

They all nodded in agreement as Makarov continued to explain the future obstacles the members chosen would face in a serious tone, "We will explain the details of the test once we've arrived on Tenrou Island. And this time too, Erza herself will be blocking your path."

Everyone yelled out shocked by the news, "WHHAAA?!!"

Only for Mira to raise her hand volunteering with an innocent expression, "And I'll be one of your obstacles too."

Again, everyone yelled out in shock, "WHAAA?!!!"

The group complained about the obstacles in place only for Gildarts to drop the bomb on them revealing he would be participating as well, "Cut the complaining! Everybody who's ever gotten to be an S-Class Wizard has walked this same road! And this time around I'm joining this year's Trials you dig?"

The participants sweated at such a challenge while some smirked at the challenge ahead as Makarov explained to the participants in a stern tone, "I want each of the chosen wizards and their partners all gathered in Hargeon Port in one week! That is all!!"

Everyone began to discuss partners for this year's S-Class Trials as Mavis looked towards Silva curious to the partner who'll be choosing, "This will certainly be the most interesting S-Class Trial… But say Silva do you have a partner in mind for this event?"

Silva smirked confidently with a nod as he headed towards his partner of choice sitting with Natsu's group discussing over who to party with during the S-Class Trials.

Heading over to their table Silva voices to a person he could rely on and someone who he works well with in a cheerful tone, "Hey Ur-Sensei! You wouldn't mind if I chose you to be my partner for this S-Class Trials, right? Unless you already partnered up with Gray?"

Her head spins in Silva's direction with a reply of her own expressing a kind smile on her face towards him, "Hey Silva. No, it seems my student here already has a partner with Mister Pretty Boy. But since you're inviting me, I don't mind helping you out."

Silva smiled as his eyes gazed towards Gray and Loke together. For curiosity's sake, he couldn't help but ask Gray his reason for choosing Loke instead of Ur, "Oh! Color me surprised Gray. I would've expected for sure you pick your Sensei in such an important event."

Gray explains to Silva his reasoning why he didn't choose Ur as his partner from his point of view in a determined tone, "I have my reasons. Having sensei would've been great but I can't always rely on her forever. I want to prove myself I can be an S-Class Wizard showing the fruits of my effort studying under her."

Ur smiled softly commenting on Gray's courage staying on his own path accepting his reasoning in a proud tone, "Good. While I would've agreed I'm glad you are following your own path, my student. But if we happen to be in your way don't hesitate to fight back with everything you have."

Gray nodded determined as Cana soon followed towards the group asking Lucy much to her shock to join her, "Hey guys! I see you all are picking partners huh? In that case, I was hoping to ask Levy to join but if she's out… Say Lucy want to help me out?"

Smiling contently Lucy asked shocked about being chosen to stutter in surprise wanting to know her reasoning, "What-t?! Why me and why second choice?!! Don't get me wrong I know I'm strong and all but why pick me out of everyone in the guild Cana?"

She smirked gazing in Silva's direction smiling as she explained to Lucy her reason picking her blinking in surprise, "Easy. Out of everyone in the group that has grown you and Silva happen to be rising stars and your <Star Dress> could be versatile in the trials ahead. I hope you can lend me your strength."

Lucy feeling a bit embarrassed on the spot couldn't help but smile agreeing to Cana's words accepting to help her become S-Class Wizard, "I see… fine then. Then I'll be your partner Cana. I'll see that you become an S-Class Wizard!!!"

Getting up and preparing to leave Cana quickly spoke to Silva thanking him for reuniting with her dad with a sheepish grin, "By the way Silva thanks for helping me out. I mean it for you know reuniting me with my dad…"

Silva scoffed at the trouble but smiled replying to Cana's thanks in a kind tone, "Tch… sure. You needed someone to spill the beans or else you wouldn't act. After all it would be sad if you left the guild with regrets, I merely sped the process faster."

Cana laughs but remarks determined to win as Gildarts views the conversation smiling as she continues to speak, "Yeah… but don't think you'll win this! I know I don't have to prove anything to him but… that doesn't mean I won't give this my all!"

Silva turned around with Ur following as he waved the back his hand responding in a confident tone, "Sure. But that's assuming you make it to the finals Cana. Although I know I'll win this by a landslide try to make this entertaining."

Cana expressed a tick mark at Silva's tant clenching her fist tightly eyes closed smiling at the arrogance trailing off him, "Oh, wise guy eh? Why must you get the last word that damn bastard…"

Shaking her head she began to talk to Lucy discussing their own plans during the week they were given to win the S-Class Trials.

Silva walked talking to Ur about their strategy for the event as he thought about the real purpose of inviting Ur with him in a serious tone, 'With Ur around hopefully she could convince Ultear to stop. From this point forward I must do everything I can to defeat Grimoire Hearts and Acnologia…'

While Silva was talking to Ur about their plans of dealing with the S-Class Trial he received a notification about the mission, he would take…
