Chapter 46 - Interrogated

Marc was lead to the nearby barrack while being handcuffed by the pretty woman, Naome.

At first, she thought Marc was funny when he was inviting Leonardo to a brothel, but after walking with him for 10 minutes she was irritated.

"Police sis, why are you wearing all black?"

"Police sis, are you and Dead Face a couple?"

"Police sis, where are we going?"

"Police sis…"

Marc was very curious about this duo after Leonardo introduced himself as a member of the royal court. He was a little prejudiced and thought all members of the court were corrupt bastards that would sentence anyone for the right price. But seeing that this duo seemed nothing like his image of untrustworthy old bastards playing god in the court.

"Police sis, you should break up with him and find another man. Take me for example, you can't go wrong here. Humble and handsome." Said Marc before she finally had enough of this shameless young man.

"If you don't shut your mouth, I will do it for you!" Threatened Naome with a dark face.

"You are going to ballgag me? Sorry, that's not my thing. But I see, that's why you are together with Dead Face huh? But now that you say it, he totally looks like the kind of person who's into that." Not at all being intimidated by her, Marc instead made her throughout embarrassed beyond reasoning. Why? Because they were still in public and the people around them heard his words and looked in their direction with surprised expressions.

"Ball gag? Isn't that what's trending with the royals right now?" Asked a passerby.

"Yes. But reasonably the brothel, Cum Right Inn, made it available too. Though I have heard it should be quite an expensive service." Answered another passerby, looking intently at Naome, imaging her in 'battle gear'.

She looked at Marc with a look that could kill, but he 'misunderstood' and tried to hide his body with his hands "Eh, what's with that look? I already said no! No, means no. You shouldn't rape people."

"YOU!!" Never in her life has she met such a slick tongue and wanted nothing more than pull it out just to make him unable to talk.

Seeing that she was about to blow, Marc told Leonardo who walked beside him, still observing Marc with his dead eyes. "You should properly put a leash on her immediately. I have heard people who's into BDSM likes to be treated like a dog. Or maybe she on her menopause?"

Leonardo in return, raised his eyebrows, and wondered "Is he a fool or just shrewd? He's hard to read for a person who talks so much."

To Marc's question though, Leonardo nodded and said "Then she must be on her menopause all the time."

Seeing that her boss agreed with the man they arrested made her stamp the ground furiously. Her boss is normally very lazy, except when a crime is committed and might not be so simple as people think. She has tried many times to get him out of his bedroom to get some fresh air and do something else besides solving murders, but he refuses every time.

When they reached the barrack, Marc was put in a prison cell with another man that suddenly began licking his lips.

"Hell no!"

*Bam**Bam**Bam**Bam**Bam*

Marc immediately beat his cellmate to a pulp easily. The man after all was just a normal man.

Leonardo took over an office and ordered Naome to send words to Lisa and confirm the things Marc said. While he tried to solve another case where a royal was assassinated by a famous clan of assassins, the Invisible Knives. He wanted to set up a trap and find their base so that they can be dealt with. But what he didn't know, was that a certain jester and his comrades were about to do his work, though not with the same intention in mind.

In the guild master's office, Lisa was having a heart-felt break and was currently reading a book that had the title "How to seduce a man and keep him seduced".

"I-I have to do something like this?" She stood up from her chair and went in front of a full-sized mirror. She looked at it a little before buttoning up her rope a little, making her cleavage show more before she held her chin and leaned forward, saying "Let's have fun!" With the most seductive voice, she could.

"Ah, this is so embarrassing…I wonder if he would like it?"

While she was immersed in her art of seduction practice, Nina opened the door and came into the office in a hurry. Seeing her sister doing a very daring pose made her question her sanity for a second before anxiously telling Lisa "Big sister, Marc was arrested for trying to murder a royal!"

"!?" When Lisa heard her twin sister's words, her posing practice stopped for a second before everybody in the Adventurers Guild felt the building rumble and the weaker adventures had a hard time standing.

"How dare they!? I'm going to turn them into the fleeing dust they are." Lisa exclaimed with an aura that held superiority and majesty.

This was the reaction Nina was afraid of. She did not doubt that Lisa would storm out and crush every single person who was related to Marc's arrest, regardless of their identities. That's why she's here to calm her sister a little with some good news depending on a few things.

"Calm down big sister. Marc was arrested by a member of the royal court, Leonardo Lawliet, and Naome Kisora. Currently, she's downstairs waiting for-"

Hearing the person who arrested Marc was downstairs, Lisa stormed outside the office, only to be stopped by her mother.

"Get out of my way mother!"

Seeing her daughter yelling at her with a furious expression, she answered without batting an eye. "Can you calm down first? Let's go down and talk in a peaceful manner."

"To hell with that!"

"!? We can usually calm her down, but this time she's beyond angry. What's wrong with girls today? The girl down stair's looked angry too." Thought Aina while she's just covered the route Lisa wanted to take. They weren't physically fighting as they were family and would never hurt each other.

Aina and Nina used a few minutes to block Lisa's path before she finally calmed down a little. Then they went down to meet Naome.

Though when Lisa got eye contact with her, her eyes looked like they could burn a hole in her. Lisa was still angry, extremely angry.

"Greetings Guild Master, Lisa Heartfilia." Naome greeted respectfully.

"Speak!! What's the problem with Marc? You better not have hurt him." Lisa was in no mood for courtesy and very arrogantly said as she was in a hurry.

Seeing that things could go ugly and the pressure she was feeling on her shoulders increased at a fast rate. Naome quickly explained and unknowingly threw Marc under the bus. "We arrested Marc at the Red Light District-"

"WHAT!?" Exclaimed Lisa before she grabbed Naome's collar and ordered with a panicking expression "Take me to him immediately!" Afraid that something else happened to him when he was at the Red Light District.

Seeing that Lisa 'calmed' down, Aina and Nina released a sigh of relief as they evaded a disaster.

"I shoulder consider telling her whenever she goes out of control that Marc is visiting the Red Light District…" Thought Aina while she followed behind Lisa and Naome that was running to the barrack Marc is locked up at.

When they reached the cell, Leonardo was sitting in front of it while playing cards with Marc after he reached a dead-end in his Invisible Knives investigation.

"I won," said Leonardo when he threw his last card on top of the stack of cards on the ground.

"Dammit, let's play again!" The sore loser said from inside his cell.

"If I have to describe him with three words it's misleading, cunning, and underhanded. There wasn't a single game when he played fairly without cheating. If I hadn't made these cards by myself, then I wouldn't have been able to see him cheating." Leonardo concluded in his mind before he suddenly found the prison bars pulled out of the wall by Lisa.

"Marc! Did you really visit the Red Light District?" Asked Lisa before she threw the metal bars away and inside the cell where Marc was sitting.

Aina, Nina each had a hand on their foreheads like they had a headache. "Did she really just forget all about the murder matter?" They though.

Naome went over to Leonardo's side and whispered everything that happened.

Marc was too absorbed in cheating by shuffling the cards in a specific matter, that he just straightforwardly replied "Yea".

Holding onto a tiny thread of hope she asked another question "Then, d-did you do 'it' with any girls there?"

Marc was way too absorbed that he couldn't differentiate between a woman and a man's voice, so he thought it was still Leonardo he was talking to. "Of course not. I have already said ball gagging isn't for me didn't I?"

Outside the capital, Rofta and Gina arrived at the gate in a hurry. They wanted nothing more than storm right through it and get help from Lisa and save Marc. But it would just slow them down in the end so they had to wait in the line where they can show their rank tags to get through faster than civilians.
