Death Knight (2)

Liam managed to clumsily dodge the charge that was coming at him. He watched as the point of the halberd brushed past the side of his face.

After it's missed attack the Death Knight did a 180 degree turn and charged at Liam once again. As he wasn't ready for it and the horse was moving too fast Liam ended up taking a massive hit.

"Shit." Liam was astonished at the amount of damage he had taken and immediately popped one of his new potions. 'I'll die in 2 hits if I let that happen again.'

With his health back where it should be Liam concentrated on the enemy in front of him which had stopped it's charge after hitting him. Instead the horse let out a roar before purple flames started gather at its mouth. A moment later the horse reared it's head back a little before spewing said flames in Liam's direction.

"Crap, crap, crap." Liam was constantly back stepping to keep himself out of range of the attack while cursing under his breath at how difficult it was to even get close to the Death Knight.

The flames subsided after 3 seconds but before Liam could do much else the Death Knight was charging at him again. This time Liam was a little more ready and managed to dodge to his left avoiding the halberd altogether, and instead of breathing a sigh of relief at dodging the move he swiftly turned around. Just as he did the Death Knight was doing the same thing and charged a second time which Liam swiftly avoid as best he could.

The Death Knight didn't charge again as it stopped a few metres away from Liam's position. Instead it turned to face it's opponent and thrust it's weapon forward extremely quickly trying to catch the slippery bastard off guard. Unfortunately for the Knight Liam rolled to the right hand side of it and managed to do some harm albeit rather small.

After his two attacks connected Liam ducked straight after as he could see the Knights halberd swinging towards him. Just as he thought he was in the clear the horse below the Knight tried to stamp on him with its front right leg.

Liam decided to roll under the horse to the other side to get away from the stamp and what awaited him was a down swinging halberd. Liam couldn't do much to avoid the weapon in his current position so he brought his own weapon in front of him and used it to guard.

Liam managed to guard the attack for the most part but still too some damage as he couldn't mitigate it all. He was also pushed back due to the strength difference putting him at the rear end of the horse.

Taking advantage of his position Liam slashed at the horse twice more shaving off another tiny amount before backing up a bit to avoid the horses kick.

This all happen within the first 60 seconds of the fight but Liam was already feeling the pressure. The monsters defence was ridiculous for this point of the game and it does insane damage. However Liam won't regret his choice of Hell difficulty. He strongly believes in finishing what he started, even if just finishing looks out of reach.

After the horse kicked and before the monster turned around Liam used <Charge> after which he slammed the Death Knight with two more attacks.

Before he could go for a third attack the Knight did a thrust backward making Liam dodge to the side before it finally turned to face it's attacker again.

Flames appeared in the horses mouth again giving Liam only a second or two too get out of the way of its next attack. However this time the horse didn't spread the flames in a wide area, instead it continued to condensed the flames until they were as large as a football before firing it straight at Liam.

The speed of this ball of fire was incredibly quick giving Liam little time to dodge. He opted to roll to the side as the ball of flames whizzed past him.

Two small ticks of health loss appeared above Liam's head.

'Huh! Why was I damaged? I thought I avoided that.'

As Liam was lost in his thoughts about the damage the fireball landed on the ground following which a loud explosion occurred covering a decent size. Liam was snapped from his thoughts hearing the noise and shivered slightly when he realised he had dodged a bullet this time.

With it's attack not landing the horse looked visably annoying however it also seemed to have weakened. When Liam noticed this he ran at the horse, putting the explosion to the back of his mind. Once he reach the horse he slashed once and noticed a slight anomaly.

'It's lost its defence?' When Liam thought of the move it did earlier he came to the conclusion that the Death Knight weakens after using the skill. This was good news as it means Liam can't actually do some damage.

Thinking along those lines Liam manage to swing his sword three times before the Death Knight was back to normal. However only two of his three strikes managed to do full damage.

Liam had finally found a good way to deal damage.

'I just need it to use that move again.'
