(CHAPTER 7)THE COLLOSEUM

<p>As Neon and multiple kids followed Pain to the exams, he could see some of them shaking and trembling which was natural. Its how anyone would feel like with exams, but it was like their nervous system was out of control. Even though they had a good ability and they prepared for about 6 weeks in advance for the exam. They still felt like their hearts were about to come out of their throats. These people were mainly the lower and middle class students.<br/><br/>However, he also saw the students who had a big smerk on their faces. Like they new they were destined for greatness. They were mainly confident because they had the powerful abilities such as the explosion ability. With this ability, the user can make whatever he touches, highly flammable or explode anything he touches, they also do other things too. All in all, it was these bullies who abused their powers, that were sure to pass with flying colours.<br/><br/>As Neon and the others made there way out of the military building and stepped outside, Neon, in the corner of his eye, saw Riyu who looked like he was waiting for him. Riyu was his childhood friend. "There you are Neon, took you long enough, so I bet you're excited for the exams huh" Said Riyu with a big smile as he made his way to him and joined the crowd. "You bet, my body's totally buzzing with excitement. I can finally show you, Pain and the others that I'm not some weakling anymore. With the fitness tests, Neon was improving a lot and couldn't wait to test out his limits. But one thing that was also known to Neon that made him uncomfortable, was that each time he got stronger, he could feel something within himself get stronger too. But it wasnt a good feeling. Whatever was there, he could feel it surging through his body. It was an unsettling presence, it was like something inside him was awakening.<br/><br/>Neon had too much on his mind that wasn't relevant to the exam, so he threw a question at Riyu to focus his attention more on the exams rather than anything else. "Hey Riyu, do you know where the exam is going to be held?" Riyu's face turned straight to Neons. "yeah, I do actually. I heard that it will be taking place in the colloseum they just finished building the other day. And the exams are measured and based on our combat skills, we will be fighting the people in the same rank as us. So it will be lowers vs lowers, middle vs middles and upper class vs upper class. The fighting will be one on one battles." Riyu's face then turned a little worried. "Hey you gonna be okay fighting the upper classes, I mean they have really strong abilities and to compete with them, you don't have an....." "Hey ill be fine Riyu, I don't need a stupid ability to pound someone's face in" He said to him with a smile. Riyu then felt at ease seeing the confidence in Neon.<br/><br/>Finally, they had reached their destination. The colloseum as Riyu was mentioning. As the kids all entered, they were given special sunglasses which monitored health, stats and other things. They could also see all the staff waiting for them sitting around the colloseum. Neon and the others sat on the front row and listened to Kain explain the rules of the combat exam that was going to take place any moment. Kain, who was standing at the centre of the Colloseum, explained the ranking system which Riyu had already mentioned. Lowers vs lowers and so on.<br/><br/>In a blink of an eye, the exams had begun and the first two competitors were called out to the centre of the colloseum. One of them was a girl. Her name was Mercedes and she had long red silky hair that went down to her waist. When Neon looked at her with his sunglasses, he could see that she was in upper class. He could also see the lvl of the equipment which she was wearing. Mercedes was wearing a lvl 5 out of 10 equipment on her upper body as well as the lower body. She also carried on her back, two lvl 4 out of 10 swords. The other competitor went by the name Childe. He was also in upper class. He had short black hair with lvl 5/10 torso gear which were long sleeved and also had lvl4/10 gauntlets on his hands. He was comfortable using his hands in a fight and liked to be close to his oponents. He also had lvl 4/10 gear for the lower body. Neon guessed that Mercedes was a little richer seeing as she had better gear than him. You see, to get money in the military school was to have outstanding performance and do well in training etc. If they did this, they would get credits and because technology had advanced a lot. You could use your sunglasses to buy gear and it would be teleported to you In an instant. But Neon couldn't rlly get a lot of money because he didn't have an ability to do well enough to get large portions of money enough to get decent gear at least.<br/><br/>suddenly, all the kids looked at the middle of the colloseum with their sunglasses to see a countdown. The two competitors were prepared and ready to fight. When the countdown hit 0, both of them left the ground with tremendous force leaving a gust of wind behind them. They were both now in mid air and as they started to close the distance between each other, Mercedes drew out her swords and slashed at Childe with speed that looked inhumane. As she did this, it looked like a line was formed and it followed childe with amazing speed but he was quick and dodged the slash by turning his body in mid air. It looked like both of them were very gifted fighters and Neon could barely follow their movements. They both charged at each other once again and Childe went for a punch that was leading to Mercedes's face but she ducked just in time before impact and slashed at childes stomach making him tumble over and cough out blood. It was a critical hit as the cut was deep, however when he fell violently onto the floor, she did not finish there. She gripped her swords tight and slashed at Childe once more but this time sending a barrage of them that followed, they all hit him at lightning speed sending him flying to the other side of the colloseum. But she did not stop there, she wanted to completely obliterate her opponent to guarantee her victory. With her amazing speed, she sprinted towards him. She left the ground and with her two swords, she held them together and with one last attack; she violently swung her swords towards his chest area. Childe who was badly hurt but still somewhat awake, held his gauntlets up to his chest hoping to block the fatal blow but she had so much force behind the attack, it was unblockable.<br/><br/>*BANG*<br/><br/>A loud noise which sounded like thunder was heard throughout the colloseum. It was so powerful it sent a ringing sensation in the people's ears and it also sent childe shooting to the floor like a bullet. The match was over and Mercedes had won. She was so frightening that shrivels were sent down Neons spine as well as all the other kids. He couldnt believe what he had just seen, the fight was so brutal and Neon couldn't help but think if he was really ready for the exams, let alone passing it....<br/><br/>Immediately after the fight had finished, Kain called out the next two competitors<br/><br/>"CAN NEON AND NATE PLEASE COME TO THE CENTRE OF THE COLLOSEUM..."</p>
