Countless homes

Ezra was placed in foster home at foster home and not one ever seemed quite right or what you would call a "home". Every home she went to had some type of problem. Some were abusive, some were careless, and others were only in it for the money.

The first home she was placed into was only for six months. After a visit from a social worker she was found malnourished and alone in the living room crawling on the floor with beer bottles everywhere. The foster parents tried to say they had went on vacation and had family watching her, but it was obvious they had higher priorities than watching an infant.

The second foster home was the Thompson household. They had a decent home, and were decent people but they were people that looked below others as if they were peasants and they were royalty. The Thompson's had twin boys and when Ezra was placed in their home she was a year and a half old. It took months for DSS to actually find her a home that was at least half decent.

Since Ezra was not adopted she was checked on monthly. Ezra loved the Thompson's and a few years went by as if it was possible she might get adopted by a perfect family. The Thompson's twin boys didn't exactly like having a younger sister or out of the center of attention but things went well until Ezra was three.

It was Ezra's third birthday and the Thompson's decided to make it a special one. They bought her a little car she could drive in, cute little dresses, a new bed set, and the last and final gift was an application for adoption. As soon as the twins saw that Ezra could be in their home permanently things went downhill quickly. Ezra was excited and all she really knew as family was the Thompsons so it was a dream come true.

Days later that dream faded when Ezra was taking a bath. Mrs. Thompson had went downstairs to check dinner and Ezra was alone. The twins were eight years old and both decided to take this adoption process in their own hands. Michael the older twin walked into the bathroom and shoved Ezra. Ezra started to cry but Mrs. Thompson didn't seem to hear anything.

Caleb the younger twin walked into the bathroom next and crossed his arms.

"You're just a charity to our family! You're nothing more than a baby that's mommy and daddy never wanted!" Caleb said with a smirk on his face.

Ezra cried more but no one came. Michael shoved Ezra more and Caleb finally shoved Michael aside. He grabbed Ezra's neck and shoved her under the water to drown. He jerked her fiercely in the water and grinned as he did it.

Michael laughed as he watched Ezra flail her arms in despair. Caleb lost his grip and Ezra came to the surface and gasp for air. As soon as she had enough air she screamed with all her might. Michael became scared knowing his mother probably finally heard the commotion and punched her one good time and made her hit the side of the tub.

Mrs. Thompson came running and screaming and grabbed Ezra out the water. She was still breathing but was knocked out. She laid in her bed confused and hurt. She didn't understand what she did so wrong to be punched or taunted. She thought Michael, and Caleb had somewhat of a decent relationship with her.

Mrs. Thompson sat Caleb and Michael down and asked why they tried to kill her. Michael put his hands behind his back and didn't know what to say.

Caleb paused for a moment then said, "We just went in to make sure she was okay mommy! We didn't want her hurt and then she tried to touch my pee pee!"

Mrs. Thompson instantly took Caleb's side and walked into Ezra's room. She was laying down still in a daze when Mrs. Thompson smacked her across the face.

Ezra cried her eyes out because it hurt more that the only mother figure she knew would hit her. Mrs. Thompson screamed for hours and hollered at how disgusting she was and she couldn't believe Mr. Thompson ever had an idea of adopting a rat child like her.

That evening the Thompsons gave Ezra back to DSS but had consequences. The twins were made to go into a facility for a month for homicidal evaluation or else the Thompsons would lose them forever. Mr. and Mrs. Thompson were made to take parenting classes and were restricted from fostering or adopting any children in the future.

Ezra was then placed into the system for a third time and was sent to an orphanage with other children until she was four and a half.

One morning a a young couple named David and Kelly Heller walked into the orphanage to adopt a young child. They saw Ezra instantly and fell in love.

After six months of processing at five years old Ezra was officially adopted and was now Ezra Heller. David and Kelly Heller loves Ezra and thought she was the cutest and sweetest little girl and that she was their perfect little child.

They took her to the zoo, water parks, put her in a private school and she had the best of everything. The Hellers were not rich but they were far from poor. They lived a quiet life, but enjoyed it with Ezra.

Ezra felt that her worries were over and life would soon look up for her. She didn't remember everything from her past but she knew she never wanted to be without a home. Everything seemed to be right, but that was soon to change for Ezra in the blink of an eye.
