Chapter 7 : YOU OWE ME

The hallways of Middletown high were quite long, very "high schooly". If not for the kids around, I would have made a sequel of Troy Bolton's performance in high school musical. I look around for the interview room and realised I just passed it.

Peeping through the room, I see a huge guy with huge arms and chest popping through his well ironed shirt, my eyes fixed on his stomach and saw the bulge, it was then I realised the headmaster had been pumping in trucks of cretin. Keeping my composure I knock on the door.

" come in, yes come in , come in already! "

"Was it just me or that statement sounded too much like a booty call".

I look around around the room as I step in and realise there are seven people other than " hulk ". " Sit down Amanda Johnson, my name is Theodor Simons and I am the head teacher of this school", says hulk as he scratches his freshly cut beard. "The rest of the panel you see here are prestigious teachers in this school, so let's get started shall we?"

I cross my legs and try to act as classy as I could. " So Amanda , hulk says abruptly. It says here you got fired on your other job due to gross indiscipline "

The question hit me like the US. Stock Exchange. " we- well, I start to stutter, I didn't get fired fired I just chose..."

Just then someone interrupted, with a dazzling smile and a cup of tea. My mouth ajar and my brain not functioning.

Kaitlyn? I blurt out in shock. "You work

here?"

"Amanda?, wow so nice to see you and no, Theodor is my dad".

" someone slap me with a face palm emoji now, I mean this instant , please kill me"!

"You know her?, Theodor asks surprised.

"Yes!" Says Kaitlyn," that's the girl I told you rendered my boss impotent".

I hear someone mouth Jesus in the room, with the rest looking at me with murderous eyes. I feel a bead of sweat line my forehead. Mr. Theodor looks at me intensely as if thinking if to remove my ovaries as well. Finally after what felt like centuries he speaks. " I'm gonna give you a chance Amanda, cus I believe in risks myself, you seem ok . you'll handle the grade one class. Welcome ".

I'm totally confused at this point. " wait that's it ? That's all? I mean no more questions like do I work for the secrete service or something?". The panel starts to laugh. " its a grade one class", Theodor says, looking at me with sympathy. " Don't mess this up Mandy". Kaitlyn mouths a big YOU OWE ME to my face, well she's right tho I think I do. I thank the panel and walk out of the school, preparing to start my work the next weekday. Then I start to think of what happened earlier, about Hazel eyes and what he told me. I unbuckled my necklace and looked at it. This my dads most cherished gift to me, I mean I don't see anything extraordinary to it, I could sell it for three cents.

Just then I look closely at it, I never realised you could turn the knob under it clockwise. Then it pops open, revealing a red lined button, I did what any other "extremely smart beyond all measure girl" would do, I pressed the button and guess what nothing happened.

I didn't know that that was about to change everything.
