Ground Floor (III)

~~Timeskip~~ (Three Months Later)

Ram→Snake→Tiger

"Bunshin no Jutsu!" I exclaimed and two exact copies of myself appeared beside me in a cloud of white smoke. Unfortunately, I lacked Naruto's insane Chakra Reserves, which made it extremely easy for me to learn the Clone Technique… For the first time, I was heartbroken for being able to learn a Jutsu. I inspected my clones for a moment before nodding my head in satisfaction.

They looked perfect… Maybe, a more experienced Shinobi might notice a flaw or two, but to my eyes, they were completely flawless. However, it was obvious they were clones since they didn't have a shadow and the grass under their feet wasn't crushed in the slightest. After taking a deep breath, I simply dismissed the clones and decided to plop down on the ground.

Today was a sunny day, which was quite rare in Kumo, considering the mountains in Kumo are always surrounded by clouds…

"Are you really planning to go up?" Mira asked me, looking somewhat sullen.

"Yes, I need to know if I am right or not" I answered without any hesitation, and Mira looked saddened, but she still decided to nod her head in understanding. It has been six months since we arrived here and I was finally confident enough to start climbing. I was really excited since I was going to be the first one to start climbing even though I wasn't the only one who could walk up on the walls.

However, they were scared about falling off… Their fear was understandable since we would go straight down if they slipped even once with how windy it is usually around the Training Facility, I wouldn't be surprised if someone slipped and fell to their doom, but someone had to start climbing… After all, we can't stay here forever. The food would run out sooner or later, and worse, the Jonins might decide to take action.

"Hah! Don't get too comfortable up there! I will be there as soon as I can start climbing up the walls" Jira proclaimed with a huff, but no matter how well she tried to hide it, she was angry. Though I wasn't sure if she was angry at me or herself… Honestly, even though this was my second life, women were still hard to read… "Mira and I will be there before you know it" Jira added arrogantly.

"I don't expect anything less from you" I smiled at Jira. Then I turned toward Azui who was staring toward the first floor with a lost look on his face. "You too, Azui…" I trailed and the boy only gave me a determined nod.

"So, when will you start?" Mira asked after a bit of silence.

"In a few minutes. The weather is pretty nice today and the wind is also slow" I pointed out before I stood up and stared at the building. It looked like the sky was going to stay clear today, but you can't say anything about the sky, especially in Kumo. One moment, it is sunny, and the next moment, it is cloudy… At least, it wasn't as bad as it was in Kiri.

I spend the next couple of minutes doing stretches and preparing my mind for the upcoming ordeal… I had never done anything like this in my past life, not that it was possible, but I was never into rock climbing or anything, so I was pretty scared too, but at the same time, I was also quite excited… So, after grabbing my backpack, I slowly approached the wall and after taking a deep breath, I placed my foot on the wall.

"Be careful" Mira wished meekly. Was that a flag?

"Well, good luck, I guess" Jira huffed irritably, but I could concern and anger in her eyes. Azui simply gave me an encouraging nod instead of saying anything… At least, he didn't raise any flags like Mira.

"Hey look, he is going up!" "Oh my god! He is climbing!" "Oh shit! Oh shit!"

I started to hear voices like that, but I decided to ignore them for the time being as even the smallest mistake could become fatal for me. So, without hesitating I continued my climb and when I was almost halfway to my destination, I realised that the wind was picking. I stopped for a moment and inspected the sky… The sky was still clear, the wind was simply stronger here.

I clutched the shoulder straps of my backpack tightly before taking another step… This would have been surreal in my original world… After all, I was walking up on a wall without any supporting gear, not only that, I was not using my hands… I was simply walking on a wall with my own two feet. I continued to channel my Chakra toward my feet, but I was being extremely careful.

After all, I didn't want to put too much Chakra into my feet… That would blast me away from the wall, and at the same time, if I put too less, then I would simply fall off the wall… After a few steps more, I had to shrink my body as the wind was getting even stronger and I was getting tired too, but I was determined to reach my destination.

After a few steps more, I finally arrived at the edge of the 1st floor and grabbed the edge with my hands to climb up… While breathing heavily, I finally climbed over the edge only to find someone standing in front of me… I could hear cheers from the ground, but for the time being, I decided to ignore them. The man was quite tall, but he didn't look lanky.

"You took six months to climb up the wall…" The man trailed off, looking down at me. Thanks to his impressive height, that was kind of obvious. "Adequate" The man gave me a nod. "I am M and I am in charge of the Training Facility. I hope you are prepared for hell" The man grinned cruelly and I realized, maybe it wasn't a good idea to come here before anyone else…
