Visiting the Demon King

"little xiao you're here?" A middle aged woman opened the door but was surprised to see Yu Xiao Yan.

"Aunty Li long time no see" Yu Xiao Yan was already accustomed to being called Little Xiao so she didn't seem surprised. Ji Zifeng called her little Xiao so naturally everybody close to him too inculcated the habit of calling her Little Xiao. It had remained like that since that unfortunately period.

"you must be here to see First Master right?" The woman asked smiling "where's second master? I don't see him with you?" she asked again staring at the empty so behind Yu Xiao Yan.

Yu Xiao Yan's face held an obvious contempt as she remembered how the guy had scurried off like a spineless chicken immediately after dropping her off at the door. He didn't even have the breath to say a proper goodbye. If she was suspicious of his cousin's moods at first, seeing how he ditched her here, she was now affirmed that Ji Zifeng was in a very bad mood but what could she do? she was already standing at the door and couldn't possibly run away now right?

"He left in a hurry?" She answered in a complaining tone whilst also looking like she had been wronged.

"uh forgive my manners. Come in, First Master is in the courtyard, you should head directly there, I'm sure he'll love to see you"

"Um Aunty_" Yu Xiao Yan had wanted to ask something but when she turned the Old lady had already locked the door behind her and scurried away without looking back. Yu Xiao Yan could even hear the hasty sounds of her slippers knocking against the floor as she ran away.

Did they really all have to be that disloyal?!

Leaving her alone to go die. Sigh! she should have known, these lots were really not to be trusted. The girl could only sigh and make her way to the direction of the courtyard.

The courtyard was a big glass house built in the middle of the garden. It would have been a beautiful scenery that probably gives off a dreamy disneyland feeling if only it wasn't surrounded by a pool of black roses. Now it gave this dull mysterious feeling, the type one would get looking at the infinite palace of Muzan Kitbushi(1).

As soon as Yu Xiao Yan stepped into the garden, the strong pungent smell of blood assaulted her nose. She furrowed her brows and took a step back out of reflex. She was right after all! This was inevitable when visiting the Demon King lair.

No matter how perturbed she was by the unexpected welcome discovery, she still had to continue with her steps and made her way towards the glass house.

The atmosphere in the glass house was stiffer than anything, a man with a face that could destroy the parallel heaven and defy nature's existence casually sat on a king sized throne with a bored, lazy unexplainable expression on his face. His eyes closed and his left hand languidly swirling a glass of red wine, by the way he leaned on the couch arm, you could tell he was drunk.

The bodyguards standing in the room all had rigid and solemn faces, only the sobs and whispers of a man sprawled just in front of the sleeping beauty could be heard. His arms and feet's appeared to have been butchered off and all that was left was the continuous oozing blood in place of the now non-existent limbs.

"lord please forgive me! I should never have said what I said. I only meant to tell you not to get too clouded over a girl." The butchered man crawled and begged trying to make his way to the couch.

"Leader Chen seems to have eaten a bear liver to come and advice me, but since I'm here, I'll as well listen to what you have to say" Ji Zifeng said leisurely with his eyes still closed.

"lord I wouldn't dare advice you instead you could call it an opinion. I was just saying that since he wants the girl why don't we just give her to him who knows that would" He never got to finish his words as a dagger passed through his through like it was only made of foam, killing him on the spot. The man died with his mouth wide open and his eyes fixed on that figure. He never would have thought such a beauty would kill him without batting a lid.

"Noisy" The drunk beauty retracted the finger he had used to throw the dagger and then gulped the remaining glass of wine in his hand at one go.

Yu Xiao Yan had stood at the entrance to the glass house and watched the whole episode unfold. Her eyes had constricted when she saw the man get killed. She had been mistaken. This death god was not in a bad mood. He was in a terrifying mood!. What could have made him like this?

She could only take a step into the building when the bodyguards proceeded to drag the Dean man out of the place. In less than a minute, there place was cleaned up by those men, it was almost like the scene that just happened was all an illusion.

"Little Xiao you're here" He opened half his drunk eyes and watched the gorgeous young lady walk towards him.

His cautious eyes didn't seem to only be staring at her face but right to her soul. He had noticed her the moment she arrived at the door but didn't acknowledge her presence. Now that she had seen him kill someone, he wondered if she would show a sign of fright or disgust. He searched her expressionless face but the girl was overly calm despite having witnessed the scene. Only a tinge of worry seemed to be laced on her brows.

"Why the worry on your face?" He asked. She walked smoothly and took a seat in front of him before extending her fair hands and taking the wine glass away from his hands. She took a jug of water from the tray on the table and filled the glass with water Instead of wine before handing it back to him.

"You shouldn't drink too much when your mood is bad, it will only make the heart grow sour" She said with a chiding tone.

Ji Zifeng chuckled and obediently took a sip from the glass of water. "Since you're here why don't we play a game of chess" He signalled the bodyguards and they immediately fetched a chess board for the two of them. They began playing each concentrating on their game while trying to win the other.

They both seemed to be at the same level of skill in playing chess but as he was a little drunk he made a few miscalculations making it easy for Yu Xiao Yan to gain advantage over him. Eventually she won after few minutes of playing.

He scoffed bitterly "even in a game of chess, I still lose over you" His face showed how hurt he was feeling. Yu Xiao Yan felt conflicted seeing him look like that.

It was a simple game of chess, why does he have to look like his nine familial lineage was exterminated?

"Bro Zi_" She started to console him only to have her words cut off by his fist. Thank god she was nimble enough to have evaded his attack or else her head would have been smashed like a papaya.

What was wrong with him Ah?!

He seemed to have gone wild and began attacking her fiercely. Although he looked fierce Yu Xiao Yan could still tell he was holding back on his strength. She too just kept defending against his attacks and didn't bother to attack him back.

All the bodyguards were surprised as their Master had suddenly started attacking the young lady, even still none of them made efforts to stop or intervene in the fight. They just watched as the two fought till they were out of the glass house.

The defending Yu Xiao Yan finally out an end to her defence stance and began attacking him back. Knowing who this man was, he wouldn't stop if he knows she wasn't taking him seriously. So after few minutes of fighting, she finally managed to push him back a few steps away from her, with a blow to his shoulders. He staggered backwards holding his shoulder and like that the two people stared at each other as seconds passed.

Just when Yu Xiao Yan thought the storm was over, He began taking long strides towards her. She positioned herself to receive another attack but he suddenly yanked her into his arms and unexpectedly hugged her.

"Xiao'er don't choose him okay?" His distressed voice resounded in her ears and his hand tightened around her.

What the f*ck was he talking about!

Yu Xiao Yan was dumbfounded.
