Extra Extra

In his reborned life, he was a Demon King, but now he wants a fresh start as an ordinary person in a new world. However, things go awry, and he ends up in a novel world where the author himself is part of the story. Trying to recall his past lives, he only remembers one where he was an ordinary person on Earth. This novel's main character doesn't have grand goals like becoming the strongest or saving humanity. Instead, he decides to mess around and cause chaos in this new world. While some parts might seem similar to other novels, this story is original and inspired by "The Author's POV." The similarities with other "Extra" novels are coincidental, and the main theme here is completely different. ( I promise my work is original, I don't like copying other's ideas. But still, this novel is greatly inspired by "The Author's POV." And most of the "Extra" novels are the same. So maybe a parallel thinking worked here. I realized the the similarities after reading some other novels after writing my own.)

Transmigration -1 ( Chapter 2)

The Demon King, or the person who had terrorised the world by impersonating the Demon King, regained consciousness. He found himself floating in a place that resembled a galaxy, with an infinite number of stars and countless chains of various sizes and colours stretching to the horizon. In this moment of clarity, he thought to himself,

'So I have achieved transcendence.'

The Demon King gazed upon his transcendent realm, surrounded by hundreds and thousands of chains, each one sealing a different type of chaotic power. Hiis personal domain was both mesmerising and eerily silent.

"This is a bit faulty," he mused. "A transcendent being should have a transcendent body. But I never allowed my body to achieve transcendence to maintain the world's balance. But even if someone in my place were to declare themselves as gods, no one would be able to refute them. Maybe it can be labelled as a demi-god."

But even with its flaws, a transcendent being is still a transcendent being.

"Let's check my transcendent powers."

A purple book materialised in his hand. Immediately, he realised what his transcendent ability was. It was something that belonged to only him and him alone. It was not something like the chaotic power plundered from the otherworlders. He was the sole and rightful owner of this new ability.

An ability that could be used to read any knowledge that was not labelled as "unknown.". As long as it was not something that was yet to be discovered or disappeared without leaving any record, he could read it.

"Oh, it's in the form of a book? No wonder. I loved reading books a lot. So the manifestation of my transcendent powers is a book in itself. With this, I will be able to watch over the world. Let's see Eridia."

The demon king touched the book. As soon as he intended to read the title, it appeared on the cover. The title appeared as "Records of Eridia."

The Demon King opened the first page.

---------------------------------------------

The Existence of Eridia

Eridia is a world of swords and magic.

It is divided into seven kingdoms of humans in the west. The great forest surrounding the world tree is where the elf kingdom exists. The dwarf kingdom is to the east, in the mountains. The beast kingdom is to the north, in the land of Demi-humans. The rest of the land is occupied by the Demon Land, and one-third of the planet is covered in water where the Sea Kingdom exists. The demon race is constantly at odds with other races.

In Eridia, seven gods are worshipped: the God of Life, the God of Fire, the God of Water, the God of Wind, the God of Earth, the God of Light, and the God of Darkness.

------------------------------------------------

"Hmm, not bad," the Demon King muttered.

Then he turned to the last page, intending to learn about the current situation.

------------------------------------------------

All the cracks in the sky disappeared. The unstable mana flow became normal.

The news spread all over the world.

"The Demon King is dead. The weakest hero, the hero of the sword, who was ridiculed for being the weakest hero, was the one to defeat the Demon King. But unfortunately, in the deadly battle with the Demon King, he had to sacrifice himself."

The world began to celebrate. Every kingdom started its own festival. Everywhere, they created the statue of the sword hero in memorial to his noble sacrifice.

------------------------------------------------

The Demon King found the rest of the words in the book uninteresting.

"Even though I was prepared for this, it doesn't feel nice knowing countless people are rejoicing at your death."

New pages appeared on the book, slowly writing down the currently happening events all over the world one by one.

"Well, whatever," he muttered. "It's almost time. My next reincarnation is starting. This time, I am going to be reborn in a completely ordinary way. With no chaotic power. But that will only result in not getting a cheating ability. However, I just want to live my next life as an ordinary person."

The Demon King closed the purple book.

"Now let's see the world I am being reincarnated into."

From "Records of Eridia," the name of the book changed to "Extra."

"What? Extra? Extra what? Extra large? Extra world?"

The Demon King, confused, opened the first page.

------------------------------------------------

The piercing sound of the alarm jolted me awake. I gradually opened my eyes. I found myself in an unfamiliar situation. I was sleeping in a single bed. I looked around the room after pulling myself up. This is not the hospital room where I have been staying for the last couple of months. I have never seen this place before. Suddenly, the unfamiliar scenery outside the window drew my attention.

"What am I doing here?" I asked myself.

Those structures, cars, large screens with advertisements, and large drones flying everywhere. The technology appeared to be far too advanced. I didn't have much time to ponder because the next thing I knew, my hands were different. They slimmed down and became a ghastly pale white. That is not my hand. No, it's not my body. I peered around the room, hoping to find a mirror. And I found one. Brown curly hair, pale face, brown eyes. This face—this is not me. I am possessing another person's body. A kid's body.

It didn't take long for me to realise that I had been reborn into another universe.

I've been transmigrated into my own novel as an extra.

------------------------------------------------

With no more pages, the words stopped abruptly, leaving the Demon King with a sense of incompleteness.

"I see. Haha, this is fucked."
