4 Yuuki Family and adoption

(Errol's POV)
Right now, I'm facing Yuuki Saibai, the man who fathered the unluckiest (or perhaps the luckiest) man on earth. This is the man who always slips, stumbles, and ends up in compromising positions with women, only to get slapped, punched, or even threatened with deadly force. The last one is particularly disturbing.

"Hahaha, man, I think I overworked myself trying to meet my manga deadline. Thanks, kid, for moving me somewhere more comfortable," he laughs and thanks me for bringing him here. But I'm curious about why he was there in the first place, so I ask.

"Why were you there in the first place?"

Seeing my curiosity, he answers, "Oh, you see, I'm currently on the path to becoming the best mangaka in this country and the world, hahahaha!"

Yuuki Saibai laughs loudly, but the others just look at him blankly, not giving him any reaction. His laughter fades, and I respond, "So?"

"I was just finishing my work that got delayed because of some events, but I ran out of materials. Looking at the time and how close my deadline was, I ran out of the house to buy more supplies. But it looks like the accumulation of overwork from the past few days hit me today, so I passed out, and you know the rest."

Well, he was always portrayed as being passionate about his manga to the point where he often left his children alone. His wife even went out of the country due to her passion for fashion, no wonder Mikan was so mature for her age.

"Well, I am Errol, no last name. We kind of forgot to introduce ourselves."

Saibai scratches his head a bit as he says, "Sorry, I also kind of forgot to introduce myself. My name is Yuuki Saiba, the one who will be the best manga artist in the world!"

He reminds me a bit of a shounen protagonist.

So we talk quite a bit since I am a fan of otaku culture from my past life. We end up talking a lot, and he's amazed at my extensive knowledge.

"Now that I think about it, I feel like I forgot something important."

Saibai is trying to remember what he forgot. I remember the reason why he is here, so I kindly answer, "Your manga's deadline."

I reply with pity on my face and in my voice.

Now his face pales. After remembering, he immediately looks at the time before cursing, "Oh, sh*t!"

"Language," I remind him.

"Oww," he winces as the matron smacks him on the back of the head. She's strict about the kids' growth in the orphanage, so someone using vulgar language earns her ire.

"Oh, I gotta leave! I will come again the next day!" He runs out while shouting that he will come again.

"He seems like an okay person to me," I comment.

"Is that so?" The matron hears me and walks back inside, leaving me alone.

Now, I never thought I would meet one of the characters immediately, and meeting one feels kind of unreal. There's this anime vibe about him. I know this is now my new reality, so I shouldn't treat what I remember from them as fact. Maybe the anime just showed their good points and didn't show their other human traits. So with that out of my mind, I also walk back inside, not bothering with it any further.

(Time skip 1 week)
It's been a week since I met Yuuki Saiba, and today he visited with two little companions.

"Yo, Er-chan! I kind of visited today with my kids to play."

What did he just call me, Er-chan? Why does that sound like a girl's name?

"Er-chan?"

"Ya, your name sounds foreign to me and kind of weird, so Er-chan, which is cuter."

Okay, who the heck says someone's name is weird right to their face? When I felt some gaze, so I turn towards it and saw a cute little girl that looks 2 years old with curiosity and a bit of jealousy.

It seems like being close to her father kind of awakened some envy in her.

"Hello, I am Errol."

She seems surprised by the sudden introduction and kind of feels shy.

"I-i am Mikan. Hello."

She is so cute right now that I want to cuddle her, but we're not close, so I banish the thought.

Seriously, is this anime logic for characters to be this cute while young? My niece and nephew from my past life were not like this. They were so annoying that I wanted to leave them outside the door and close it because they were annoying to the ears. But they also have some protection from my mom, so they're safe.

Where was I? Ah, we were introducing ourselves.

"My name is Yuuki Rito."

Hmm, I look at the protagonist who took the heart of many girls out of his miracle falls that even an assassin who has the power to destroy the world can't escape.

Honestly, I don't know what to feel about him. I only watched the show for fan service. I did not pay attention to him.

"Hmm, then since you're here, let's play with the others there."

Rito immediately agreed. He's a kid, so what did you think was going to happen, some deep conversation about life?

Mikan hesitantly follows her brother, but she looks like she wants to play too.

"Yosh! Er-chan, lead the way."

Saiba follows, so I look at him with a strange gaze.

"You want to play with us, aren't you too old?"

Saiba, as if something hit him, replies, "I am not old! I am only in my late 20s in age, and this is a free day for me to bond with my kids."

Hearing him and thinking of him being away most of the time in the anime, I get what he means. So we played with other kids together.

We played for hours and bullied the old man by numbers. Mikan also no longer shies away from me and the other kids from the orphanage, and so time passes and reaches the afternoon.

We were just saying goodbyes to each other with Mikan having some tears in her eyes holding me.

"Er-Ni, please come with us."

She called me Er-Ni for some reason after she did not feel shy from me anymore, and boy, I wanted to hug her and bring her to his room to pamper and spoil her to my heart's content.

"I can't, and maybe you can just come with your dad to visit us and play."

Hearing me, Saiba nodded in agreement.

"Yep, whenever my time is free, we can visit him here."

Hearing them both, she reluctantly released me and waved.

"Bye-bye."

So cute, so I also waved back.

Rito also said goodbye.

"Bye, Er-Ni, we will come again."

"Sure, and I will show you some tricks in soccer."

He ran after his father, and yes, I am older than him for a few months, and he also called me Er-Ni, like Mikan, for some reason.

(Time skip 3 months)
(Saiba's POV)
Since the first time I met Errol, or as I usually call him, Er-chan, they've come to visit from time to time, every week or every other day. This is especially true when I have some free time or when I've finished the manuscript for my manga.

Mikan has grown close to him, calling him 'Er-here here' or 'Er-Ni.' She's so cute that I can openly say my daughter is the personification of cuteness.

Rito has also started to look up to him. When they play with the other kids and Errol shows them some cool tricks, Rito is always amazed.

Right now, I'm waiting for my wife to return home after preparing some dinner. This time, it took her two months of work there, not all the time is she this long to come back, adding also a month because a heavy storm disturbed the schedule of flights, so she only arrived now.

As I think of my lovely devil of a wife, it looks like she's finally here.

I open the door and hug her because I've missed her. Who wouldn't when you're separated for three months?

We had dinner with the kids, talking about what happened in these three months of their lives. The kids happily talk about how cool and strong Er-chan is.

That child is quite mature for his age. I guess being an orphan does that to you, or he's just a genius. I guess it's the latter. He's also quite strong. He was able to carry me, but that's not weird since sometimes I catch sight of weird creatures, but the next moment they're gone. Maybe my mangaka vision is at work, looking for inspiration?

Now it's time to sleep, and I also have something to talk to my wife about.

"Honey, what are your thoughts on adoption?"

I'm waiting for her answer when I look up at her face, which is close to tears.

"Is this the time where you admit you have a child outside because I am always away?"

I end up panicking and immediately clear out the misunderstanding.

"No! I just have some thoughts about adopting the child our kids love to call Er-Ni. Sometimes I am also quite busy, and he is quite mature for his age, so I think I can leave them in his hands."

Her frown quickly turns back as if nothing happened.

"Oh, okay."

"You do?"

"Yes, if they are happy having another sibling, why not? It's not like we have a problem with money, so sure. But I have to see this child first before adoption."

I can't help but feel happy about my understanding wife.

In the end, we ended up playing the game that made our kids born. Unfortunately, it is a safe day, so no third child.

But at least we can still have it after adopting Er-chan. I wonder what their faces will be like after announcing it to them.

Author's note:
I didn't know how to put Saiba and his wife in the conversation, so I did my best using the wiki reference for their conversation in this one. Their appearance in the anime is scarce, and when I search for it, only the fanservice appears, so I can only do this.
