Exploits from Another World Ch 4. (This World's Power System Is Confusing...)

This World's Power System Is Confusing...

Kingdom of Esseavast, Ingtasia

???

This is it... It's finally here. The power system of this world...! Oh, how I've been waiting for this. This was probably the only thing I was looking forward to when I realized we got summoned here.

"How you're going to defeat the Demon Lord is obvious... It's with magic of course!" Eleth declared as a spiral of fire came out of her hand. Wows went through the crowd, as the fire slowly dispersed.

I'll admit. That was pretty smooth. The fire coming out and all. Considering how things usually go; That's beginner magic that anybody who can use magic will be able to use. So in a matter of minutes, once this bitch tells us how to use magic, I'll be shooting fire left and right. Fuck yeah.

"Amazing, right? Well, you'll all be able to do it too." Eleth said confidently. Gasp progressed through the students.

"[Status]" Terensu said out of nowhere. The instant he said it, a blue, slightly transparent rectangular projection appeared in front of him. His eyes widened as Eleth ceased her speech, and the people next to us began looking at Terensu.

"Oh wow... It actually worked. I was just guessing…" Terensu said looking down at the blue rectangle. I stared at the projection, with my mouth gently opened.

Ah... "Status"+Blue Rectangle... So it's one of these kinds of worlds... That thing in front of Terensu. Yep, that's a status screen. Or something along the lines.

I stared at the screen. Gibberish characters I couldn't read filled the blue status screen.

"That's a fucking status screen... Ain't it...?" I asked to no one in particular.

"Hell yeah, it is," Terensu responded turning to me for a split second, before turning back to the screen. He grinned.

"It even has my name and everything. Oh shit? There's more than one page..." Terensu continued. I watched as his eyes went to the bottom left corner of the screen.

"Look. I know you're smart and all. But don't try to pretend you're able to read that shit." I said back.

Terensus a smart guy. Even by my standards. But he can't read that. Not even I can for fucks sake...! And I know... Like four. No. Five different languages?

"Huh? Are you blind or something? This is in fucking English. See? Te-Ren-Su." He said to me, pointing at the top of the screen.

"A-Ah. I can explain that!" Eleth said. I, with Terensu, swiftly turned to where Eleth was previously talking.

"Talk." We both said, demanding an explanation. Eleth looked at us with an obviously forced smile and cleared her throat.

"Ahem... Well, I didn't expect someone to already know how to draw out their status... But yes. That's a status display. Only the person drawing it out can read the information it contains. It narrates your current stats. Accompanying with the level of your skills, the level of your abilities, your current class, the number of monsters you have killed..." Eleth began saying. I turned to Terensu with my eyes widened. He looked up from his screen to me with a blank expression.

"What the hell? Is there that much leveling shits?" I asked him, turning back to Eleth.

"Yeah? Well, that's only the fucking start... There are 10 pages..." He responded, whispering the last part and going back to his screen.

"Wait what..."

Oh wow... This will be kind of interesting. Though... Will I have to click ten times just to get to the tenth page...? This fucking world... Can't spare me even a little time, can ya?

"...And finally, the level of your current pet, if you have one. Now... Any questions?" Eleth said, smiling at the crowd. I looked around. Everyone's mouth was hanging from their face. I had a question... But it'd be awkward if I was the only one to raise my hand; So I kept my hand at my side.

"Alright. Go ahead and take a look at all of your current stats... Oh! And make sure to keep an eye on if you have a title." Eleth finished smiling, as everyone began opening their status screens. I looked around as everyone's eyes opened, and their mouths smiled.

Well. Doesn't matter what ability or class I get. There's no point crying over spilled milk. If I get a shit ability and class. So be it... It's not like there's anything I could do about it.

"[Status]" I said firmly, as a blue projection similar to everyone else's, appeared sleekly before me. I looked it up and down.

"Oh wow... It really does have 10 pag-" I stopped suddenly and traced my eyes back to the front. At the top read my class... Well, if I had a class. "None (Forbidden)" is what it said in the spot where I'm guessing my class should've been. Is this some kind of special class? And looking over my stats again... There's a bunch more fucked up stats...! 100,000 Exp just to level up...?! And what's with the -100 magic stat...?!

"Uh... Hey, Terensu... How much Exp do you need to level up?" I nudged a bit to Terensu, who peeked over to me.

"10,000 Exp... Why? I know. It's pretty high for some reason." He responded casually, going back to his stats.

"Yeah... Well, you guessed yours was high huh...? To acquire level one... I need 100,000 damn experience points..." I said slightly smiling. This doesn't really seem fair. Though there are factors I need to discover before I determine if it's really "fair" or not. Such as how much Exp I get from a monster in the first place.

I suppressed my grin and went back to the stat screen.

"Most of all. What's up with this title. [The Man Who Wasn't Born To Be A Hero]...? Is this some inside joke I don't know about or something...? I'm totally fit to be a hero... Right? Though… If I'm being honest… The title sounds pretty cool, am I right?"

"Well, would a hero joke about mass slaughtering children?" He replied, giving me a dead face.

"Well no. But you can't say the jokes aren't funny." I replied pointing a finger at him, to get him to agree.

"This is why you're not a hero Riamu..." He turned back to his screen.

"Humph. I didn't wanna be a trash hero anyways." I said scoffing.

"You just-... Anyways, Riamu go the second page. The one where it says ability at the top." Terensu said to me. I glanced over to him with a confused gaze then proceeded to look back at my stats and pressed "Next Page?".

...

I'm convinced the god of this world is against me... This is why Jesus is better. No fucking skills...?! Let alone abilities...?! Look. I didn't really care about not having a class and all... But this shit is going a bit too far... I still don't understand much about what all this means. But it looks like I won't be having much fun anytime soon doesn't it? Talk about cliche. What. Let me guess. The nerdy kids of our school are the ones with the overpowered powers, and the legitimate "Heroes". Give me a break. I'm still trying to get over the fact that I was fucking kidnapped by this world... I got over the no class shit. But this...? For fucks sake...

"For fucks sake... None. No abilities what so ever." I said to Terensu, who looked over to me.

"Yeah. Same. Class?" He asked bluntly, pointing his finger to my screen.

"Forbidden," I said attempting to punch my screen. I scoffed to the side and looked at him.

"So I wasn't the only one huh?" He asked, turning to the front of the room and raising his hand. My eyes followed, turning all the way to Eleth who caught glimpse of Terensu's hand.

"Ah! Question! Yes, hero. What's your question?" Eleth said, smiling almost spontaneously. Terensu put down his hand and looked sharply at Eleth.

"Me and my friend here... We're having some problems with our stats. Care to explain some stuff for us?" Terensu said distinctly. I looked over at him and he nudged me. Signaling that it was my turn to talk.

"Problems? Like what...?" Eleth asked, tilting her head in confusion. What an airhead move.

"Well. I don't know if this is supposed to be like this... But 100,000 Exp just to get to Level one...? Really...? Isn't that like… A lot…?" I began, trying to get Eleth to understand what I was saying.

"100,000...!? My, that's how much experience it'd take someone in the mid 100's to get to the following level...!" Eleth responded, dumbfounded. I watched as everyone around me began looking from me to their screens. As to double-check if theirs wasn't like mine as well.

"100,000? Mine only takes a single experience point. Happens to the best of us I guess." A voice raised through the halls. I turned over to where it was coming from. It was Rusy. Short, forcibly edgy. Of course, he'd be the first to bloat how easy it takes for him to level up. Probably thinks he's special or something. He needs to know that I'm the only special one here.

Rusy... I don't know what transpired in him through the years. He used to be this quiet, rule-following kind of kid. But... Well, that's puberty for you I guess. We're not on bad terms. Nor are we friends. I guess you could describe us as acquaintances or something similar.

"Yeah... Anyways, I have more shit to rant about." I said turning away hesitantly from Rusy, back to Eleth.

"Negative stats, no abilities, no fucking class, a fucked up titl-"

"Wait... Did you just say you didn't have a class...?" Eleth interrupted me. I moved my eyes left and right then nodded.

"Uh. Yeah...?" I said cautiously. Was something bad about to happen? I mean. I get it. Not having a class isn't particularly normal in these kinds of stories. Even in the manga, I've read. But I still got my stats and shit. Plus they summoned me here against my will. Meaning if it was somehow bad that I didn't have a class… They can't do shit to me... Right?

I stared at Eleth, whose eyes widened gradually as she put her hand over her mouth. The 2nd Princess followed as the 3rd Princess gasped.

Oh shit. Why are they all so surprised? Especially that First Princess. She's staring at me like I just murdered their whole family ten times over in front of their eyes. Am I going to gallows…? Who knew not having a class would get that kind of reaction out of someone.

I turned to Terensu who looked back at me with an awkward kind of smile on his face. He sighed then looked up to the front as Eleth began talking again.

"Faultys..." Eleth said softly, raising her hand from her mouth.

"I've summoned faulty, imperfect heroes!"

"Faul- bitch what did you just call me?" I asked imperiously. Terensu snickered a bit then shoved me. Telling me to calm down.

"Calm dow-"

"Yeah sure. We may not be able to use magic. But whatcha gonna do it about it huh?" I said, giving her the good old middle finger. Terensu snickered again, as everyone in the room gasped looking at me.

"How dare you?!" The Second Princess asked, whipping her index finger pointed to me.

"Calm down sister. It's partially my fault as well for impulsively insulting them like that." The First Princess said, grasping her sister's shoulder, and smiling towards us.

"Let me apologize for the names I called you both. Along with my sister's actions." Eleth said, lifting her hand from The Second Princess' shoulder and bowing while lifting up her gown slightly.

That's right motherfucker. Bow. And while you're at it, beg for forgiveness.

"It's fine. Just don't do it agai-" I started, but got interrupted by Terensu who shoved me.

"It's fine... Is not being able to use magic taboo here?" Terensu asked, smiling for a split second before going back to his normal expression.

"Well... Yes, you could say that. A past summoning featuring a class had a faul- Non-magic user as well. But well... There was never more than one..." Eleth replied, looking down worried.

"Is that so? Can I ask how that hero managed to save the world?" Terensu asked. He looked at me and rolled his eyes. Yep. I knew it as well. There was no way that faulty loser could save the world. Terensu was probably just saying this to calm the mood of the room down.

Eleth looked up to Terensu.

"They were killed." She said firmly, with a look we hadn't seen the whole time she was saying her speech. A scary look if I had to describe it. No like really terrifying.

I looked at Terensu with my mouth open. I chuckled for a second before we both nodded our heads. Those "heroes" probably weren't "just killed". Considering how much of a scene they're making because of us not being able to use magic... That "hero" was obviously murdered by the kingdom. As a way to keep face from the public.

"Sister... Make arrangements for two executions two weeks from now." Eleth whispered, most likely attempting to refrain from anyone hearing it. But, due to the whole room being silent... Well~ You can guess if we heard her or not.

I turned to Terensu, sighing. He stared at me with a grin. These people man... It's like they're trying to make a villain out of us or something. Giving us this whole revenge back story shit. We're probably going to die, whether we complain or not. But if we do somehow get out. I wouldn't give a shit about revenge. I just don't wanna have anything to do with these bastards anymore. To think I was at home this morning… In my bed… These past hours were the most fucked up in my life... And I've had a pretty crazy life...!

Well... Knowing Terensu, he should have a plan of some sort so we should be fine….. Maybe… But two weeks? I'm beginning to wonder. Are we actually going to live through these two weeks…?
