Chapter Two (Edited)

"Hey! You're the Hybrid right? It's Seth right? "A tall girl asked.

"Hybrid?" I asked in bewilderment

"Um yeah? You're the only kid here with more than one power, even your sister only has one power, Elemental Manipulation. You won't meet her though she's always on a mission" Another girl said.

I nodded "In that case yes, I am Seth, who are you?"

The first girl took a step forward "My name is Clara. My power is Ferrokinesis Ferrous Control, basically Metal Manipulation."

The second girl nervously joined Clara "My name is Phoenix, I can resurrect the dead for one full hour, but it only works on animals and I can only do it to one animal once if I do it again their soul becomes evil"

"Then you're in the wrong section Necro's are over to the right. This section is for Telekinesis, Metal Manipulation and other things involving moving things with your mind" Clara said

Phoenix left the section and headed over the Necro section and Clara began practicing with her power.

"Hey Clara, I've never used my power before, what do I do?" I looked up at her in confusion.

"Seriously Hybrid? Okay I'll help. Look at the vase and focus all your energy into moving it. Ignore everything around you. Nothing is important here just the vase"

I focused on the vase and it began to slowly move before it was engulfed in flames.

"Dude! I said move it, not cremate it! Focus, try again. Move the Plant Pot. You can do it Hybrid!" Clara said as she cheered me on.

I turned my focus to the Plant Pot and concentrated. It slowly began to levitate and shake. After five seconds it remained perfectly still.

Clara clapped "now raise your arm, you must not break eye contact. With your arm you can now move the pot in any direction. The speed of which you move your arm will affect how fast the pot goes. Try moving it towards me slowly"

I raised my arm slowly and moved the plant pot towards Clara, I was sweating even though I was barely moving.

"Well done Hybrid!" Clara shouted

"Why do you keep calling me Hybrid?" I had noticed that she called me Hybrid more than Seth.

"I've requested to be in your group. Your code name is Hybrid, mine is Copper and Phoenix's is Necro. We need five people per group and I want your sister, she already has a code name and that's Amber." Clara answered

"Amber?" I said as I tilted my head in confusion

"Yes, Amber she can control fire. Remember? I didn't mean that she was a red head." Clara giggled.

I gasped in realization. "Oh, I just remembered Dr Shepard has an interview with me and I'm pretty sure it's been more than five minutes, and this anti-toxin thingy doesn't last long! I'll meet you here after bring Phoenix with you."

Clara grabbed my shoulder "Oi, keep your wits about you with Dr Shepard. That's all I can say"

I nodded and made my way to the room where I was to have my interview. He didn't tell me where it was, but there were signs telling me where his office was. When I finally arrived I noticed a few things, the first thing was a metal table that looked like some form of bed. On that table however lay various tools. For example, a pair of surgical scissors placed neatly in the right corner parallel to the tweezers. Everything was in a certain place, almost as if this person suffered from OCD. I took every detail in, from the temperature of the room to the energy around me. So far the vibes I was getting weren't good.

"So you finally made it then? I was beginning to wonder if you would even show up. To make up for time loss. I need something from you." Dr Shepard had entered the room and wasn't impressed. "I need a sample of your blood immediately and a demonstration of what you can do. Use anything in the room, please note that any attempted grievous bodily harm will be reported and an instant execution will be required."

"You want my blood? Why?" I questioned.

"No questions Seth. Just do what I say." I felt a large object hit my head as I fell to the floor.

I blacked out. I don't know how long I was out, but I don't think it was long because when I came around I was in the exact same place as I was when I blacked out, the only difference was the needle in my arm extracting blue blood.

"What do you think you're doing? Why is my blood not red?" I demanded

"Let me explain once more! You are not human. So your blood will never be red, now show me what you can do, I heard you were hanging around with 2925. Otherwise known as Clara" Dr Shepard addressed.

I went over to the table and attempted to lift another flower pot, but the results were unfavourable, "Yeah, she's helping me out." I said.

Dr Shepard nodded in acknowledgement "You are dismissed."

After the training and interview, Clara and Phoenix and I decided to go to the cafeteria to show me around. Suddenly Phoenix cried out..

"Wow. It's her! It's Sarah! Look Clara" Phoenix cried.

"What have I said about not using our real names? Honestly Necro, you'd think I was a broken record with the amount or times I repeat myself." Clara hissed. "Hey Hybrid this is your chance to meet your legendary sister."

"That's my sister?" I asked looking at the girl with deep confusion "She looks nothing like me."

Which in fact was true I had black hair and grey eyes. My skin was really pale because I barely went out, but Sarah's features were the opposite she had white hair, blue eyes and her skin was rather tanned. It was hard to believe that she was my sister.

"Well obviously! She's your test tube sister, you were both created on the same day. You and Sarah both took your first breath on the same day." Phoenix stated.

"Test tube sister? How does that work?" I asked.

"Basically, on rare occasions a small experimental error can occur. In this case, you and Sarah were conjoined twins. That wasn't supposed to happen. They only wanted you, but something went wrong one day when they inserted a chemical that created a new life" Clara explained.

Still confused I asked more questions. "So you are telling me that she was attached to me? I still don't understand. Wouldn't she have the same powers as I do?"

"Not necessarily, you see half the powers that you were given your sister absorbed. You were supposed to have her powers along with your own. You were supposed to lead the elite group. I'll tell you more about that tomorrow. However that's now your sister's job" Clara continued.

I was about to question Clara for more information when we were so rudely interrupted by someone.

"So you are my weed of a brother then?" Sarah had walked over slowly.

"Yes I am, is there a problem?" I asked

She shook her head "No, only that I decline the invitation to join your group. Sorry that I killed your adoptive family, but this is where you belong."

Clara took a step forward "That was me I sent the invitation, my name is Clara but my code name is Copper"

"Hmm, what is your power then, and who is the girl next to you and what is her power?" Sarah demanded.

"My power is Ferrokinesis Ferrous Control which basically means Metal Manipulation. Phoenix has the power to resurrect the dead for one hour, however she can only do it once, and her code name is Necro. She is currently practicing making the resurrection longer."

"So you and Necro have pretty good powers then?" Sarah observed "My friend has Blood Manipulation and that's pretty lame"

"Blood Manipulation?" I asked

"Yes if she cuts herself she can control her blood, but only for a short period of time because she gets light headed." She replied.

"Hey Amber! What are you doing here anyway?" Clara asked in an exited manner.

Sarah turned to Clara "I was here to decline your offer in joining your group, but I'm interested in what you can all do. Also thank you for using my code name unlike some." She glared at me with her last words.

"Yeah, sorry about that Sarah, I just don't think it's needed when we are in a safe place." I said

"Safe?! You have been here a day brother, one day. I've been here 18 years. This place is far from safe. After about a month of you being here, the real experiments will begin, your powers are expected to have reached maximum potential otherwise you are forced to experience excruciating pain. Liquids are forced into your body to speed up your powers development. It affects the body in unimaginable ways." She looked away as she said this.

"Sarah? Did this happen to you?" I wondered

She merely nodded and turned her back. "I assume Clara has told you about my missions? Did she tell you the part where I nearly die every time? These missions are meant to kill me. I overheard something once a year ago. Something life threatening, I'll tell you later though."

"Sarah, when do we go outside as a group?" I asked with caution

She turned back around "In two months' time. We all have to go out in the field in two months. That is what all this training is for."

"I don't understand" Phoenix muttered.

To be honest neither did me or Clara. We decided to ask no more questions.

"Hybrid! Stop daydreaming me Necro and Amber are going to our quarters are you coming?" Clara shouted in my ear.

"Yes I'm coming, but I'm assuming males have different quarters? Otherwise it would be rather inappropriate" I stated.

"Well obviously, your quarters are to the east of the cafeteria. Do you need assistance in getting there?" Sarah laughed.

I shook my head and said my farewells and made my way to the boy's quarters following the signs. I wondered what my room would be like, I had hoped that it wasn't too bright and that my room would be spacious.

"Hey newbie! Hey! Stop you're going the wrong way!" A voice shouted.
