1 Prologue

In the darkness of space, on the orbit of a highly industrialized planet, floats a lone Ares-class cruiser hovering above the fortress city of Forge, on the planet of Quad.

Sirius woke up in a jolt, roughing up the sheets of his ergonomic bed. He was currently in the crew's quarters of the ISS Reverie, a cruiser that was stationed to patrol the Revan system prior to being warped here by the instruction of higher-ups.

He was in a 5 x 5 room, with a window made out of specialized glass that allowed you to see the beauties of space yourself, a plastic plant in the right corner, a sliding door on the left. Many people didn't get this luxury, however, proving yourself on the battlefield and attaining the rank of Sergeant at a very young age, made yourself privy to various luxuries, thanks in part due to the elitist system of government Calradia had.

Calradia was the brainchild of the one known as the Founder, Emperor Arthur Pendragon. They governed over a hundred planets in more than a hundred systems, the variation of said planets are extreme: from one system having a booming economy due to large mineral deposits in the home planets crust, from one system that had floating cities situated at the upper atmosphere of a gas giant.

After the Great Collapse, Humanity was in splinters for nearly an entire century before Arthur proclaimed himself to be the one to unite us all. Thus, starting an era known as the Unification Wars, a constant war of liberation over rogue systems and megacorps.

Many generations had passed since then, Humanity was in a relatively prosperous position only seen prior to the Great Collapse, Sol had been liberated from false heroes, and the purely ceremonial crowning of Sebastian II Pendragon had put the country in an economic boom.

That was, until the hegemon many refer to as the Voidborn, declared a suprise war on us and planned for us to forcefully join their cause for "universal peace", they had not only a technological advantage on us, but also have a numbers advantage too.

It was only on planets and not in the darkness of space, do we have a chance at beating them, due to their inferior land doctrines. Sirius wondered why the higher-ups suddenly recalled them to this monotone planet, there was barely any plants left on there!

But that was a thought for another time, he quickly stood up and reached for the holo-tablet on his bed desk and looked at the time and news.

"4:37 p.m (Sol time)", was the words of the holo-tablet, he pivoted his piercing blue eyes to the southeastern corner of the phone, there was a news bulletin moving that was as follows:

"After 5 months of constant warring on Feria, the Imperial Navy has finally liberated the main planet! Cries of joy and the sweet smell of xeno bodies litter the streets of Magana, the biggest city on Feria. The soul of the Founder is with us!"

He smiled at that, they were only just now getting wins on the Frontier, but offsetting those wins was a montage of devastating victories, it was unfair. He quickly walked to the dresser directly in front of him and picked out a blue marine uniform, the insignia of the Imperial Navy present on his breast area: an anchor with a dragon similar to one in Chinese Mythology circling it, starting from the head all the way down into the shank.

He picked up the holo-tablet and opened the camera to see himself on the screen, a pale, thin, and handsome young man with a fair face like that of a Korean. He had short, white, hair and piercing blue eyes, if he were in a fantasy world he would definitely be mistaken for a vampire.

"Damn, I look like a twink." he remarked to no-one. As he was readying up his buttons, the sliding door suddenly opened and Sirius looked at the face with shock and, maybe a little bit of fear. A moderately tall, gorgeous, brunette, with a childish face walked into the room, a smug grin plastered on her face.

Sirius gulped, he had never expected the little demon to be, virtually, in the same post as him, he quickly re-adjusted his uniform amd turned to look down at the brunette.

He quickly weighed the options im front of him:

1) Run away

2) Confront her

3) Silence

Option 3 was definitely a no-go for him, since he hated being in those kinds of situations, 1 was a tempting option, but it directly clashed with his pride as a man, but can men run a way from a demon and be perfectly justified to do so?

Before he could pick, the brunette said in a playful tone: "Hey there, Nii-san!". Damn it all, so she forced him into Option 2 of the Demonic Sister Escape Plan, so he has to endure another confrontation with her, huh?

"W-what are you doing here, sis?" Sirius said with a morbid curiosity. "Oh, nothing, I'm just looking after your stupid ass, can't anticipate you sexually harassing someone, again." She shrugged, Sirius looked at her, dumbfounded that she would bring THAT up.

"Ok, first of all, I slipped and fell, secondly, she seemed like she liked it, so it wasn't technically harassment." Sirius brought up the same two points he made on the incident while in the confidential room, a while back.

"That's the same thing you said to the suited men with her. You can fool them, but you can't fool me, ba~ka Nii-san~." She said teasingly. "Alistair, what exactly are you doing here, you can't just go from, wherever you post is, to the crew quarters of ship, just to tease me, so what gives?" Sirius did the next best thing to winning: distracting her so that she would disregard the past conversations.

Alistair looked at him and flashed a cute grin, the small fang on the left side of her mouth glistening from the indoor lighting. "I'll give you the answer, Nii-san." she obliged and told Sirius that they were currently on the Fortress City of Forge, only a few dozen AU from the Frontier. She came here to inform him that they were gonna dock at a shipyard on the Outer Sectors of Forge, ordered directly by the admiral of the fleet from the onboard PSA. Sirius's mouth was agape in shock, although he participated in many battles, they were only against poorly trained or poorly equipped insurgents or criminals. The skirmishes he had gone to were as chaotic as plushies when compared to the utter carnage that was the Frontier, if the footage from the news is to be believed.

Sirius briefly had a pensive look on his face, before Alistair spoke up: "Also, we better go down into the hanger bay, we will deploy there. So, don't get lost, okay? I would be sooo devastated." She said sarcastically, before turning around and giving him one last smug grin, before trotting off.

Sirius sighed in exasperation, that girl was already a few bottles of beer, just waiting to happen, and now this shit? What the hell is he gonna do to console him after this potential clusterfuck?

He sighed again, before joining her in the hallways.
