Prologue

First came the pain.

To every heartbeat, the poison burned my veins as if my blood was the true intruder. The poison was brutal, making my body convulsically convulsically, without energies to sound suffering size.

"I'm sure it was my cousin Ludan, that idiot of his father would have the courage to send this sort of thing."

I tried to control my breath, unsuccessfully. The pain and despair flooded my body with all strength, like a tsunami born by the anger of God.

He had done everything in the best possible way. He had dedicated my life to be worthy of inheriting the great commercial conglomerate Carrese, had done everything to please my dear father.

"So much work for anything, I wanted a chance to use my talents for something useful. It looks like it's too late, after all."

I used my last energies to send my thoughts to the heavens, or at least to what I believed to be the heavens.

And then, all my body stopped burning.

The pain asked for silence.

My blurry mind no longer bothered me.

And that's how I died.
