Evolution System in High School of The Dead

Because of an error in the Matrix, Takashi Komuro ceased existing. The Gods that keep balance in the multiverse needed someone to act as the protagonist for that that world, so they selected a promising young man who had no attachments to his life. Ryo Hashimoto woke up in the presence of six figures. They presented themselves as the deities that ruled the multiverse and offered him a chance to make something of his life. "Why not... I don't have anything left here anyway" -------------------- We have a D*i*s*c*o*r*d! https://discord.gg/6a3PqqGUtC This story IS a Harem, but it will be slowly built. The RH Bladed Series

This is the result of an entire day of research and reference images. Please don't ask me to upload images of the weapons because, besides the katana and the rapier, the others are hard to find and way different than described. I just wrote what I felt was possible, even if not completely sound. It's a Fanfic of an anime world, cut me some slack please. Also, for the gun enthusiasts out there, please don't comment on how unrealistic everything I just wrote is. Please don't. You'll just ruin my entire day.

--------------------------------

After working on his own gun for half a day, Ryo left with Rika and went to show the others his creation and ask if they wanted one and which kind of firearm they would like. When Kouta saw the weapon though, he immediately geeked out and asked everything about it. Ryo showed him how it worked, the retractable shaft, how he made it. He didn't need to explain what firearm had been used, since Kouta could tell.

The girls showed curiosity of their own when they saw how amazing the weapon was, and the first one to approach and ask for one was Miku. She liked her Seax daggers, but the idea if wielding a weapons made by Ryo made her giddy, and even more so knowing that he would be making it specifically for her.

Ryo promised that he would make a weapons for those who wanted one, but the following day. I was already late at night and he needed to sleep. Hence, after a good dinner and the girls throwing RIka a few weird looks when they noticing how she looked at Ryo with different eyes, everyone went to sleep, Ryo himself accompanied by Saeko and Yuriko. Whenever the two slept with him nothing happened besides cuddling, since they still weren't comfortable enough with the idea of a trio or even more girls.

*

The following day, after having breakfast, Ryo began preparing the weapons for each of the girls. The previous night he was asked for modifications by Hiratsuka, Miku, Yuriko and Saeko. According to Shizuka, she probably wouldn't be able to aim properly or would forget to use it at all, besides the fact that her weapon wasn't bladed, so it wouldn't fit the series. Saya and Shouko wouldn't involve in close-combat unless it was required, something Ryo made sure to engrave in their heads. They were in no conditions to fight. He even explained that he didn't forbid Shizuka from doing so because she was an adult.

He felt quite surprised when Saeko asked for a modification on her previous Murata-Tou, but she explained that having her weapon be modifed by her Lord and her beloved was an honor, and she also wanted to have a failsafe in the case she needed one.

"Ok, let's get to it. Rika, can you tell me which of these would go well with the Seax daggers?" he asked his now official assitant when it came to crafting his weapons. Rika looked at the assorted weapons for a while and eventually grabbed a pair of the same handgun "Well... given the length of most weapons, the only viable option is this pair"

She had grabbed two Berettas Px4 Storm, a .40 or .45 handgun. Ryo studied the length of the barrel for a bit and took a few measurement. Immediately after, he cut the handles of each dagger by half. He did a bit of tweaking with the gun and, in a matter of an hour, had finished one of the two. He had attached the handle and a small part of the blade to the bottom of the Beretta's barrel, welding the blade to the metal of the gun and tying the handle to the trigger guard.

While he was working, Rika was busy making holsters out of leather jackets, a skill she had picked up at some point during her time in the forces. Ryo realized that he had never asked Rika what had happened to her squad, so he decided that it was as good a time as any.

"Hey Rika" he called her while he worked on the other Seax. The woman, not taking her eyes out of her work, answered. "What is it?"

"How come you are here and not with your squad?" he asked inquisitively. Of course, it was a sensitive topic and he knew it, but her answer came way more morose than he expected. "They are gone, none made it alive. I barely managed to escape myself"

Ryo opened his eyes slightly, but he wasn't that surprised. Rika continued to explain how she was working on the airport, cleaning up the area so plains could take off. Ammunition wasn't infinite, but there were thousands of zombies in the area, so at some point their numbers began going down. She left three days before meeting him, only arriving so quick because she was capable of hotwiring an old, 1970s motorbike.

While the conversation was going on, Ryo had finished Miku's Gundaggers and passed them on to Rika so she could check the quality. Though he was sure they were just as good as his own weapon, just a tad bit simpler.

"Yup, these two will work just fine. Name?" Rika confirmed his expectations and asked for the name of the pair. Of course, he already had it in mind. "How about RH Dual-45?"

"Hm... it makes it sound a bit like it's a double-barreled, rather than two guns, so why not change Dual for Twins?" the tanned woman asked as she passed the weapons back to him. They had the safety lock on, so they threw them at each other with little worry. "Yup, it sounds better. RH Twins-45 it is then"

Once Miku's own Bladed Series were done, he moved on to Hiratsuka's. This was perhaps one of the trickiest weapons to turn into a Bladed Series, since a Katar had no actual space to add to it. Ryo played this one smart. He didn't have two of these, so he made do with what he had. A Ruger LCP and a Taurus Poly, both .22 caliber.

What he did with these ones was quite tricky. He took them apart under Rika's critical eye, since it was pretty easy to fuck up what he was doing. Ryo literally moved the clip to the back, so the magazine could be loaded on the back of Hiratsuka's hand. The trigger he connected through a very tense wire to the firing mechanism and welded it on the inside of the Katar's handle, allowing her to fire by simply extending a finger and pushing it. It didn't look majestic, but it did it's job.

"These are the ones with the weakest recoil, but they pack quite the punch" Rika said as she tested their weight and balance, though the former mattered little after they had all drank the liquid. "These are?"

Ryo thought a bit about it, and came to the conclusion that this weapon's biggest characteristic was that it was each Katar had a different gun in it, so Ryo made name quickly based on that.

"RH .22 Hybrids?" he hald said half asked. He was quite happy with the name, but Rika had a better sense for firearms. Apparently he had nailed it this time, given her answer. "It fits like a ring to a finger"

The following two weapons were the most and at the same time least problematic ones. Ryo could easily turn them both into Gunblades, but they would have only one bullet to fire. He decided to tackle Saeko's katana first. He was taking measurements and analyzing each weapon when Rika asked him a question he didn't see coming.

"So... do you have a family?" she asked while trying to help him, though she was failing since her mind wasn't in the right place. She was more interested in him than his work. Ryo smiled awkwardly, and decided to play her a bit. "Well, you know them already... is there a short bullet that would fit in the handle of the Murata-Tou?"

"I already know them? Who are they?" she said as she passed him a Taurus Revolver modified to shoot .22 Short cartridges. Ryo looked at it attentively and realized he would have to work more on the katana then the gun itself. He answered her question matter-of-factly. "The girls, dummy. Who else could it be?"

"I am asking seriously, dumbass" Rika said as she observed how he took the revolver apart and mounted the barrel on the side of the blade. He answered once he was done welding, while he worked on the cylinder. "My parents and little sister passed away when..."

Ryo told his story to Shizuka as he separated the blade from the tsuka to connect them again with the cylinder. He then worked on the firing mechanism and then connected it to the trigger, which was a bit above the handle. Instead of shooting the bullet on the top of the cylinder, the Murata-Tou shot the bullet on the right of it. The hammer was also at the side of the katana, right behind the cylinder.

"That is some heavy history..." she said while cheking how functional the firearm aspect of the weapon was. To her surprise, it was extremely functional and even easy to maintain. He was getting better with each weapon he modified. Ryo grabbed the katana and swung it just for fun, before answering Rika. "Everyone has their own, some are heavier. By the way... this one is RH Murata-Tou .22S Revolver"

Rika smiled wryly when she heard how comfortable he was saying something that, to her, sounded so sad. She felt slightly relieved when she realized he was surrounded by people who respected, cared and loved him. "I don't think I could come up with a better name... besides, Saeko might actually get angry if we don't put Murata-Tou somewhere"

Ryo laughed at how accurate the last statement of Rika was. Saeko was bound to kill someone if the Murata-Tou's legacy was broken. After all, it used to be her father's blade.

"The last one..." he said as he moved on to Yuriko's rapier. When he thought about how to make the weapon useful, he realized there was a very easy way to do so. "This will be so much easier than I thought..."

There was only one weapon he could thing of that would allow the Rapier to keep it's mobility and speed while still being able to pack quite a punch. Ryo grabbed a single barreled shotgun. It was an Ithaca 37. Ryo sawed off the barrel and then grabbed the rapier. He cut the blade from the guard and handle and welded it to the side of the barrel, which had pretty much the same width as the blade.

"That was... anticlimactic" Rika said when she realized the rapier took only half an hour to modify. When they looked outside, they realized that they had already been working an entire day. Ryo realized the sky was aready turning dark. "Did we just skip... every other meal besides breakfast?"

"It would seem... let's go get a late night snack, shall we?" She asked, clearly enjoying his company. Ryo, not minding at all, decided to indulge her. "Sure. By the way, this bad girl is the RH-37 Swift Shotgun"

-------------------------------

I used this weapon thing to develop Rika and Ryo's relationship a bit. She is now clearly interested in him. I quite like how this chapter went from filler to conversation to filer to conversation.

I will make another Auxiliary Chapter with the Bladed Series in them and a short explanation on each of them.
