Evolution of an Incubus

This probably going to be a trash book like all my other books so please don’t bother reading. The updates will be sporadic at best. Now if you do decide to read, I feel sorry for you. If you don’t, you made a good choice.

Chapter 8

One day, while sol was out, a big crowd of people started gathering in the market area. Sol was intrigued by this because it had never happened before. He had been there for a year now and he continued to look for a way to get into the castle, hoping that Sylvia was still there.

He had learned a lot in the past year. He learned how to read and wright in the common tongue, some basic mathematics, and had gained a vague idea on how to swing a sword.

He spent a lot of his time in the forest, killing off monsters and such. In the week, we were able to break through level 12 and get halfway through 15. He was amazed at how much his leveling had slowed but it really did seem to get harder to level up. He had cleared a lot of the near forest so he had to travel a lot further out if he wanted to even think bout gaining a level in a day.

He spent his stat points on wisdom to get it to 30 so he would use his corruption magic, but he then learned that with it now unlocked, he had to reach higher levels to use it. Right now, he could corrupt a person but he would have to have physic contact and it would take 6 hours to fully corrupt them. Or at least that was what the ability description said.

With his remaining few skill points, he upgraded his ability and strength. He had some remaining be he continued to suck life force which, in turn, have him random stat points if the monster or animal was of a higher level.

Anyways, Sol went to go and check out this crowed.

"HERE YE, HERE YE, CITIZENS OF STONELOWSWYN, HIS MAJESTY IS RECRUITING KNIGHTS FOR A SOON TO COME HOLY WAR. SPLEAST STEP UP IF YOU WISH TO FIGHT IN THIS WAR!!!" the knight standing on the makeshift platform said.

He was tall and had a full set of armor on, except his helmet. There were 2 other people on the stage with him, both in armor. They were taking names, stats, ages, and levels. The knight continued to talk.

"YOU WILL BE ADMITTED TO THE INNER CITY WHERE YOU WILL TRAIN AND LIVE. OTHER BENEFITS INCLUDE ... "

The instant Sol heard this, he ran up to the stage and got in line. The announcer knight kept advertising as the line was kind of small. when the writers got to Sol, they started asking him questions.

"Boy, how old are you? The minimum age to get in is 10 summers." the knight said.

"My 10th summer was the last one," Sol lied.

He looked at some of the other kids the looked about 15 and discreetly changed his face and body to look the part. This was a type of physical illusion that all demons like the incubus had. If they had a humanoid body, they could modify it to look the part they needed to play.

"Alright fine. What is your level?"

"I am 49% through level 15," Sol said.

The knight looked at him like he was a mad man but still wrote it down. He asked about his stats and had the same expression that he had with his level every time that Sol answered. he almost screamed when Sol told him his intelligence level.

"Alright kid. Go to the castle gate's tomorrow and show them this badge."

And the knight handed him a shield-like badge. It had a small rose inscribed on it. Sol took it and ran back to the old man's house. He was so excited that he had a chance of getting back his Sylvia.

He instantly started packing the most important item that he had. This included a book that he got from the old man that he was reading. Its title was "Dictionary of Pyroesh". The old man taught him that Pyroesh was the native language name. Sol had gotten completely fluent and started using words that made him sound like a noble. If he were in the 5th grade, let say his comprehension level was already at a highschool level this time.

After a little while, the old man came back to the cabin.

"Old man, I finally got away into the Castel!!!" Sol said excitedly.

"You did, did you? How did you do it?" Exavier asked him.

"Well, the knights were signing up people for a holy war. So I signed up. They even gave me this badge and told me to go to the Castel tomorrow." Sol explained.

Exavier took a look at the badge. When he saw the rose imprint on it, he almost jumped out of his skin.

"Boy, you do know that with that badge, you will become more than a knight, right?" Exavier asked.

Sol had no knowledge of these badges as they were solely for the knights and he had never really interacted with them.

"What does it mean?" Sol asked.

"This badge means that after a bit of training, you will become a personal knight for someone of the royal bloodline," Exavier said.

Sol looked at him like he was a mad man. If he were ever to get with these royals, it would only make his job harder.

Or so he thought.

"Anyway boy, Ii need to tell you something. I know you are a demon." The old man said abruptly.

Sol froze in place. If anyone knew he was a Demon, they might try to kill him in which case, he will need to kill the eon looker first. But it was the old man, how could he kill him after he had taught him so much.

"Don't worry. I am what you would call a ... defector. I want to join the demon's side. I have made contracts with countless numbers of them so don't worry, I won't report you. In fact, if I am right, I have something that you might like. Follow me."

Sorry for the late uplode
