1 Chapter 1 - First Calamity
1:50 pm. Monday. August 1, 2013. In a particular university that could be found in the continent of North America, a group of five male youths wearing basketball uniforms could be found stretching outside the court. From the way they laughed and talked to each other, the youths were probably close friends and had long known each other.
"Hey, what are your plans this weekend? I have invited some nursing students to hang out. Do you want to come along?"
"Hey, it's still Monday! Why are you already talking about this weekend? Hahahah. But I'm in."
"Really? Sigh. Unfortunately, my mom and dad had planned on going out this weekend and they are urging me to come with them or else they will cut my allowance in half."
"Really, Max? How did you convince them?"
"Hahahaha. Are you questioning my capability? Of course, it was my girlfriend's idea. How about it?"
"Such luck. Of course, I'm in!!"
"Too bad you can't come with us, Jake. Hahahaha."
"How about you, Zach?"
"Dude, are you okay?" Max suddenly asked upon seeing Zach acting weird seeing him looking at them with great shock as if he had seen a ghost. Aside from his facial expression, buds of sweat could also be found on his head which was abnormal knowing that they just started stretching.
"Hey! Hey! Where are you going?!" Max called again upon seeing Zach didn't reply and walked away in a hurry instead. He then just looked at his friends with a questioning mind wanting to know what's his problem.
"That's weird." Jake said. It was their first time seeing Zach acting like that however, it wasn't to the point that they needed to pry deeper into what was happening since everyone has their all circumstances.
Following that, Max, Jake, and the other two then just forget about it and continue with what they were talking about as they decide to ask Zach what was going on later and offer something if they could be of any help.
On the other hand, inside one of the shower rooms of the building, a youth could be found getting showered in the cold water with his eyes closed and hands pressing on the wall while shaking probably due to the coldness.
After a couple of seconds, the youth opened his eyes and then turned off the shower as he got out. He, however, didn't change seeing him still wearing his basketball uniform as he went to the mirror and focused on looking at his face.
"J-Just what is happening?" Zach muttered while looking at his reflection. A well-defined facial feature with a height of 1.8 meters was reflected in the mirror. Complemented by his brown hair and blue eyes, one word could only describe him and that is handsome. He was very familiar with this face in the mirror since it was his face in his youth.
Even after cooling off in the shower, Zach could still not understand what was happening to him because as far as he remembered, he was working his ass off writing the last chapter of his novel before his computer monitor suddenly exploded.
Wanting to recollect his thoughts, a sudden scream could be heard outside which caught his attention. He frowned as his mind could still not process everything, but he set it aside for now as he got out of the place to see what was happening.
It was not long before Zach got out of the gymnasium which surprised him upon seeing the place full of people, specifically students looking at the sky. He could not help but also move his head up and there he saw something that made him freeze upon seeing a huge eye looking at them for a while before shutting down.

'A-Am I dreaming right now?' Zach couldn't help but feel surprised by what just happened after hearing mechanical voices directly coming from his head. No normal human would react normally to that even himself who was still confused with his situation.
"Kyaaaaahhhh!!!"
"Move away!!!"
"It's the end of the world!!!"
"Mom!!!"
"Everyone!! Please come down!!!"
Several shouts and screams could be heard throughout the place as panic overwhelmed the people. Zach, however, could be found standing still looking as if he couldn't be bothered by what was happening in the surroundings as a blue screen could be found floating in front of him.
[Successfully escaping the Time-Space Vortex.]
[Host has been detected.]
[Start examining the world the host is currently in.]

[Searching for a suitable system.]

If it was anyone, one would be greatly surprised if they could see such a thing but to Zach, it was as if a lightning bolt given to him by the heavens. As an author and a reader, even though he didn't know whether he was in a dream or not, he was particularly familiar with this kind of setting.
"Yes." Zach subconsciously replied even though his body could be found shaking with anticipation. Looking at it, he realized that he had somehow been taken back 10 years to the past to where he was still a college student but something very strange about the current situation since what just happened a while back was completely out of the script.

'I-I can't believe it's true.' Zach thought in his mind as he looked at the blue screen in front of him that seemed only he could see since the people around him weren't looking in his direction. For the second time, he was still in doubt whether this was just a dream since everything seemed unbelievable. He was then just about to read more of its functions but stopped midway after hearing something.
"Zach! Zach! Where are you?!!"
A call woke Zach from his excitement as he heard a very familiar voice that stirred the very center of his heart. It was a voice that he would never forget which he immediately set aside the system and looked around just to see a beautiful shoulder-level brown-haired girl in the distance calling his name.
"Z-Zoey?" A name came out of Zach's mouth as he started walking slowly before running with great longing and excitement.
"Zach! Where a--" Zoey wanted to shout but stopped after seeing Zach running in her direction. She was actually having a class in their room before the large eye came out and due to panic, she immediately ran to look for Zach. She then just stood there before getting hugged tightly which surprised her thinking about what was happening to him as he never once embraced her again after getting to college.
"Zoey, y-you're alive." Zach said excitedly before letting go of Zoey. He couldn't help himself from tearing up upon seeing his long-dead twin sister. Looking back on his life, his parents together with Zoey had died in a car accident after they decided to go out of town leaving him alone after having basketball practice games with the other universities.
"O-Of course I'm alive. What happened to you? Why are you wet?" Zoey, who didn't know what was happening to her twin brother, replied normally before getting pushed as people started running. She frowned and was about to scold the person when his brother hugged him once more but this time, she felt something different upon seeing his serious expression.
"I don't know what was happening but let's first get out of here." Zach seriously said. His head was still in turmoil but having a mind that was equivalent to a 29-year-old and knowledge of being an author and reader of several novels, he had long known what to expect after what happened a while back.
With that, Zach held his twin sister as they pushed their way out of the place. It was only after 20 minutes of hard struggle did they arrived at the parking lot and got inside of their car. However, due to the chaos, the way out of the university was completely crowded with students.
"Have you called mom and dad?" Zach asked while looking outside as he continued pressing the horn switch to warn the people. He was still in doubt whether what was happening was real, but seeing his twin sister alive, he felt like his parents would be alive too, so he wanted to know the situation on their side and see if they were all right.
"They were not answering, Zach!" Zoey replied with haste as she continued holding the phone in her ear waiting for them to answer. Seeing the situation outside the car, a sense of fear and panic started looming inside her heart thinking if it was really the end of the world just like they said.
Hearing Zoey, Zach could only grip the steering wheel tight while having deep thoughts in his mind. He had already experienced being alone in his life with his sister, mother, and father being gone, and so he wanted to change their fate in this life even if this place was just a dream, but the situation was still really against him with this new and unknown danger.
…Bang.Bang.Bang….
Suddenly, gunshots echoed not that far away from them gaining everyone's silence and attention seeing them stopped for a while to see the situation, but it only took a couple of seconds before the riot continued.
"Z-Zach. What do we do?" Zoey was already shaking from fear from what just happened as she held onto Zach's shoulder while looking at the people outside. It was her first time experiencing such a thing in her life and so she couldn't help but panic.
"L-Let's walk it out from here." Witnessing such a thing, the situation gave them no other option but to get out of the car as they walked out of the place and see if they could return to their apartment that was several blocks away from the university.
Time passed by, and Zach and Zoey were finally three blocks away from their apartment building. However, that was when a notification sounded again in their minds but this time something was different from before. Both of them stopped running after a blue screen appeared in front of them and to everyone else in the surroundings.
[Preparation time has ended.]
[Commencing World Cleansing Procedure 1: Meteor Shower Calamity.]
When everyone was surprised by the blue screen in front of them, a rumbling sound could be heard in the sky. Everyone looked up just to see something falling which made their eyes widen in disbelief. It was only then did they started running again after shouts and screams echoing in the surroundings.
"GOD! Please forgive us!!!!"
"Run!!!!!!"
"Don't push! Motherfucker!!!"
"Help me!!!!"
Different emotions could be seen on everyone's faces upon seeing meteors from the sky and it was only then did they understood what the blue screen was implying. However, despite all of that, every human being has one thing in common in their mind right now and that is to survive.
"Z-Zach." Zoey muttered with her eyes still looking at the sky while holding on to Zach. She has already started losing hope thinking that there's no way they could survive such a calamity, especially upon seeing a number of them falling in their direction.
"Dammit." Zach softly cursed as he had the same thought as Zoey.
'Fuck! I have just been given this chance to change their fate in this place. There's no way I would let everything end just like this.' Zach thought with great fury before he looked at the surroundings wanting to find a place to hide. It didn't matter what kind of place it was for as long as they could take cover and have a slight chance of survival.
Zach, however, never thought that at that moment, the system showed its function. Something completely makes him bewildered after the world suddenly turns colorful in his eyes after colors like Black, Red, Orange, Yellow, and Green are all over the place. He didn't know what was happening and without thinking much, he held Zoey's hand as they ran their way toward the nearest convenience store that was shining in green.
It did not take long before the both of them entered the convenience store and much to their expectation, the place was completely devoid of people after everyone ran for their lives outside after seeing meteors falling from the sky.
'Please let this place be safe.' Zach kept on thinking as he really didn't know what was happening and what those colors represented. He only trusts his guts upon choosing this building after seeing that this is the only place that shines in green while the rest shine in different colors.
These colors, however, are actually explained a while back following his status window but because he completely ignores the system after seeing his sister, he doesn't have the chance to know what it represents.
"Zach. What are we doing h----" Zoey was about to ask the reason why they had gone to this place but stopped midway after hearing several crashing sounds outside which made her shudder thinking that the meteors had already reached the land.
…..Boom….

…..Boom….
With that, the sound of destruction started echoing outside and it only took a few seconds before the electricity went down with Zach and Zoey embracing each other inside the convenience store as they witnessed the terror of the first calamity.
