9 Milestone 1: chapter 5

I will do this every 5 chapters. Yes, I know that there are only 20 chapters, but I've never written a writing piece with an ending before, so it's kinda...it feels ok. It feels somewhat motivating.

If you are reading this, I'm happy you are. This is also part of the challenge I've challenged myself to do(I think I need a job or smth.), to appreciate the milestone and encourage myself to keep writing and doing better. So every five chapters I've decided to learn some new techniques/ something about the art of writing that would make me come back and correct my mistakes. It sounds cool and I'm doing what I like, but it's actually comprehensible for a reader.

In these five chapters, I'm tackling something every writer struggles with once in a while: punctuation. I've heard so many complaints about punctuation I was like, hmmm, is it really the salad before the soup? Is it the pepperoni on their pizza? Is it their- well, you get it.

So good news: I've read quite a few articles and watched many videos on punctuation. I didn't know what the hell I was thinking about not looking into it earlier, and I recommend you peeps do that as well if you are planning to write. I also found out that the ; has a function.

The great news? I've been featured! Who knew punctuation was the real salad to the soup? I would be happy if people provided me with feedback because it helps me a lot in the long run. Connecting with your audience is very important for a writer, especially the amateur ones!

I also learned some things:

1. You don't need to stretch your story like pizza batter just because you have a lower word count. It's better to split them into series(makes sense) or multiple arcs.

2. You don't need to start grinding out 500 chapters or more to get to a million followers, I've met quite a few authors with over a million readers with only 200 chapters or less(yay?). In some cases, quality counts.

3. I should not contract this. Because:

3.1: This is a horror novel

3.2: I can't bribe my audience with niceness.

3.3: The writing isn't even that good.
