3 Chapter Three: Lost

***** Inside The Prescott Mansion *****

" Welcome to our humble abode Morticia" Anika announced.

" Mom, did you just say 'humble'?" Gregory, Wills Anika's only son who was walking down the stairs asked with a smirk.

Before Anika could respond, Greg Chimed in

" Morticia right?" Greg questioned and Morticia nodded while Anika facepalmed.

" Great. Or should I say Greyt" Greg answered stressing the E to sound like his name.

" Anyways, I'm Greg and this house, is no humble abode I can tell you for free." he said with a wink. " It's very proud, as you can see, but you don't have to worry because we the occupants are very humble people. You know what they say, Negative attracts Posi..."

" Oh come off it Greggy. It's not dry jokes Tuesday today you know?" Liliana, the first daughter of the Prescotts butted in with a scoff. While Anika tried to stifle the urge to roll her eyes like Liliana did.

Liliana was the eldest daughter of the Prescott couple, at that time, she was 20 years old. Gregory was the second and last child of the couple. He was 17 years old.

" Well, what can I say. These are the two blockheads of the house. Liliana and Gregory." Wills said dryly. " I don't expect you all to be familiar with each other, especially since you all last met when you were still very little. " Wills said with his gaze directed towards Morticia and she nodded with her gaze fixated on her fingers.

It was actually the truth. Morticia wasn't familiar with her cousins because when her late Father and mother got married, it was almost as if her dad had stopped communicating with his family members. He did, as a matter of fact, but it was for the sake of avoiding conflict with his wife, Melinda. So they seldom visited each other even when Anika and her family still lived in San Huego, the commercial city of the country Cilevile where Morticia and her parents also lived until her father Joseph died.

" Dad, I'm no blockhead. I'm like, you know, princess Diana." Liliana declared dramatically swaying her Scarlett hair backwards.

" Princess Diana is dead dumdum. She has been dead before you were even born" Gregory interjected with a scoff.

" Well you're going to have to explain that to Ice spice and Nicki minaj as well dummy head. I'm not surprised you don't get the point anyways". Liliana said dryly with an eye roll.

Morticia who had been watching the siblings bickering found herself grinning.

She was really going to have a swell time here Morticia thought with a smile.

" Hi Morticia, I'm Liliana. You can call me Lily" she said with a smile.

LILY... The name Morticia will never forget.

" Hey miss, are you okay?" Morticia heard someone whisper to her. Reminding Morticia that she had been cogitating for as long as she could remember.

Morticia bobbed her head, slightly taken off guard.

She looked around examining where she was. Although it was night, it was a little bright. Bright enough for her to see the lady but not enough to properly assess her features even as she seemed to loom over her because of how tall she was, apparently.

Now it seemed as though Morticia was a dwarf because she felt really small.

" When did I become this small " Morticia murmured through her gritted teeth.

" No young lady, you're actually squatting" then she stopped to examine Morticia properly "...and shivering intensely" the stranger added.

Then it dawned on Morticia that she had been under the rain and she didn't even notice when it stopped, no wonder she was consistently gritting her teeth and shaking with goosebumps all over her . Morticia then looked downward to properly examine herself. She was wearing a gown that she suspected to be black, she also didn't have her slides on. She must have lost it while.... while what?

Wait!

Why was she here? How did she end up here? Why was she without a slipper? Why was she under the rain? She used to live somewhere before now, right? What happened to her? It had stopped raining but why did she feel as though something was running down her back? Was it perhaps..... a snake?

Reaching for her back slowly, she touched it and released the breathe she didn't know she had been holding realizing that it wasn't what she had thought.

Bringing her hand forward, she felt a thick like liquid on her fingers. Bringing her trembling hands closer to her nose, it smelt like... Blood.

" Hellloooo, did you get me?" the stranger asked after turning on her phone's flashlight and asking Morticia a series of questions to which she didn't receive any answer, but instead saw Morticia trying to examine something on her fingers.

Impulsively, Morticia stood up. She realized she was bleeding. She had been bleeding. Abruptly, she felt a shooting pain at her nape, where she suspected she had a cut.

Suddenly, her heart started to hammer heavily against her breastbone. The light from the lady's phone strangely doubled, tripled and doubled again, voices started to fade, it was as if her bones were about turning into noodles, giving up on her.

Blinking once more, the ground became horizontal, and as quick as the speed of light, everywhere became void of color!
