21 Hidden Quest

After finishing giving the sake bottle to Nonko, Kimihito decided to go back to his room because he wanted to go to bed. When he was in front of his room and opened the door, he saw Yuuna was already inside preparing two futons for sleeping.

"Yosh! I have prepared the futon, Kimihito!"

"Thank you, Yuuna." After thanking her, Kimihito immediately turned off the light and got ready for bed.

However, Kimihito couldn't fall asleep.

It was difficult for him to fall asleep right away because a girl was sleeping next to him. Previously he could sleep without problems because he didn't know what Yuuna looked like. But now, it was different. He already knew what she looked like and would be lying if a healthy man like him didn't attract to her.

'Has she gotten used to this?' He thought about how Yuuna could fall asleep quickly.

Out of curiosity about Yuuna, whether she was asleep or not. Kimihito decided to check it out. He took the glasses that were beside him, then tried to see if the girl beside him was asleep or not.

Kimihito suddenly remembered something that made him curious enough to make it difficult to sleep, his eyes were closed, but his mind suddenly remembered that thing. Not wanting to dwell on that, he checked the hidden quest first.

After feeling that everything was clean, Kimihito slowly opened his eyes. He was surprised because he felt his vision become clearer than before. Curious if his eyes had changed, he quickly headed to the mirror in the bathroom.

"Th-this…" He was speechless.

How surprised Kimihito was when he saw the changes in his eyeballs. Right now, his eyes looked like the blue sky of the night, not only his irises but even his sclera and pupils as well. It was as if his entire eyeball had changed color. In addition, he can see the circular lines that surround his eyeballs and three thick bright blue lines as if all those lines look lit.

' With my eyes becoming like this... Do I have to keep my eyes closed?' He thought that there was no way he could show his suddenly changed eyes, much less show them to the residents of Yuragi-sou.

Kimihito recalled a sub-race of humans called Metahumans, and they were different from ordinary humans. Metahumans are a sub-race of humans with unique abilities in each individual, and all Metahuman's unique abilities are called 'Quirks'. Usually, Quirks will appear on Metahumans when they are four years old or even from birth, depending on the type of Quirk. There are three types of quirks, namely Emitter, Transformation, and Mutant. Mutant is a type of Quirk that makes the person's body structure more complex. Because these Quirks change body structure, some of those who transform into humans with animal forms are often considered animal demi-humans and not Metahumans with Mutant Quirks. Quirks are the next stage of evolution in the human race; hence, they were called a new race in the human race, Metahuman. It is possible, though rudimentary, to diagnose a person as possessing or lacking a Quirk by analyzing the presence or absence of an extra joint in their pinky toe. People with only one joint tend to develop a Quirk, while having two joints usually indicates that the person is Quirkless and is commonly referred to as an ordinary human. The lack of the extra joint makes a person's body more "streamlined", a secondary aspect of human evolution brought about by the emergence of Quirks

One of the causes of Metahumans comes from lineage. If both Metahumans married and had children, it was highly likely that their child would be a Metahuman. If a human were to marry a Metahuman and have children, then it was still possible that the child born of them would become a Metahuman. Still, if two ordinary humans married, then a child born to them would likely become a Metahuman was relatively low. But that doesn't mean the child of both Metahuman parents will be 100% Metahuman, and the child of both normal human parents will remain human. Sometimes some children suddenly bring out their superpowers even though their parents are ordinary humans.

Eye holders can alter and control the vision of those around them, such as switching two people's fields of vision, inducing nauseating hallucinations, projecting what the holder sees into the minds of others, and the power over visual illusions in general. The eyes also allow the holder to see through another individual's eyes and observe past events that they have witnessed. The eyes can also be used to track body parts that have been removed or extracted from a person even when it can not normally be traced by conventional means simply by viewing the person's aura and matching it with a said body part. The eyes are also equipped with a self-restoration function such that over time, they will heal themselves of any damage sustained.

However, the eye has its limits. Prolonged use of the eyes' abilities causes them to heat up to the point where they will start burning the user. If the eyes were damaged enough, they would crack, making their powers unusable until healed again. If they're damaged to the point when they can't be repaired, then they will explode, killing the user.

The 'Seeing Eye of the Gods' cannot be removed simply through a surgical procedure, and the holder of the eye cannot restore the condition of his eye back to its original state when the eyes of the holder are still normal.]

'A-Amazing...'

Kimihito did not expect to get something so amazing. However, remembering that hidden quest to get these eyes were seeing ghosts, he wasn't sure if the 50000 yen spent on spirit detection glasses was too cheap to get these eyes.

On the other hand, Kimihito was a little disappointed that he couldn't bring his eyes back to how they were before and would still look like this. But anyway, his new eye look looks fantastic and he loves it. And for now, he just needed to hide his eyes from others as much as possible. Honestly, I was confused about what to call their race, and ended up choosing to use 'Metahuman'.

Maybe some of you are thinking, 'Why not call them Superhumans?'

Hmm~ I think it's a good idea to call them superhumans because they have superpowers. But... After thinking about it a bit more, I realized that most of their 'Super' powers don't really give me a 'Super' impression.

Apart from that, more importantly... I've been thinking about how I'll use 'Superhuman' later. So just wait for it later, but maybe it will be a long time. I dunno :).
