Chapter 12

Seeing the two boys, Cassandra let out a deep sigh. All the members of their kiss that could suppress the blood calling from earlier had arrived about 20 minutes ago.

With a brief recap from Matthew and Jermey, full of flowery words calling their young master a living Saint, they finally pieced together the story and had a small idea of the happenings inside.

Unfortunately they had no clue who Tristan was and how he played a part in the power their young master unleashed unto the world, but to vampires, to all supernatural creatures power meant status!

Cassandra used her own powers as a master vampire to float not only Karlito's body, but also both of the boys.

"Looks like our pomme sacree finished the fight without us."

She used one arm to rest her chest on and used that hand to hold her other elbow, then in a very seductive fashion she rested her beautiful face in her open palm.

"What a wasted opportunity to show off our value."

She was speaking aloud to no one in particular, but you could see the sour mood on most of these vampire's faces. It was as if a group of puppies had lost their favorite buddy.

"No matter, we'll clean up the young master's mess and help remedy his fathers condition."

The last part was said in a much lighter tone, which definitely helped alleviate a great portion of the mood.

Right as she was ready to call out a few names and orders, the shadows next to her feet began to ripple about.

Soon a hulking 7 foot tall man rose out from them. He only briefly glanced around and took note of the lingering aura he felt.

"Lady Cassandra, Our Mistress awaits your timely return with the young master. She's sent me to accompany you to ensure there were no mishaps!"

Cassandra's red eyes shimmered with glee!

"Oh! Sir Oliver, with you here I feel greatly assured of the safety of our return trip! Thank you for the trouble this time!"

There were no ill intentions in her words. All the vampires gave their very toothy grins and smiles.

Oliver just lowered his head and nodded slightly. His actions were not to be taken as a form of submission, just a show of his personality. He was not someone who often wasted words.

"No trouble, I live to serve her majesty's will!"

With those departing words he sunk back into the shadows leaving no traces of his presence behind.

"Yahoo!! Alright gang, let's get this show on the road!"

Cassandra quickly and efficiently directed her people about and the rest of them returned to the city with great haste!

They were securing the most precious cargo the vampire world may have ever come across!

***

Two day's passed quickly.

Under the sleeping city deep into the underground cavern, a cave that was originally dug out over the passage of time showed clear signs of expansion. Even more unusual to common sight, this cave was full of beds and medical equipment.

At the bedside of one of the patients, a beautiful young woman that looked to have been missed by the hands of time, waited quietly holding onto a youthful hand.

The back of this hand was embedded with a beautiful scarlet gem in the shape of a pentagonal cupola. The inside of the gem seemed to house a storm as what looked to be cerulean lighting swam about from one corner or another in no particular pattern that was obvious.

Euria-lee watched the lightning dance about on the back of her son's hand as she used her thumb to slowly rub his knuckles. every so often she would release a sigh and her eyes would trace the outlines of a curtain in the corner of the room.

You could see a lot of intense emotions flash past her in those moments. But quickly enough another sigh would be released and she would go back to watching this precious son of hers.

Only this time when she looked back she noticed his eyes fluttering about, she knew he would be waking soon!

"Alexiel! My love! Alexiel, come back to mother, follow my voice!"

Her plea's went on.

"Arghh!

I'm not dead…

don't say such foreboding things!"

Alexiel could feel her hand in his and didn't pull away. Instead he tried to use his other hand to rub his head. only to find it hooked up to an IV. This left him stunned.

"Or maybe… I was?

Mother what's happening?"

Eura was completely beside herself with emotion, finally seeing her son wake up from his short coma brought forth all the feelings she had been holding back. After throwing herself around his neck she spoke to him between sobs.

"I was so worried!

We were all so worried! You didn't respond to any of our voices this entire time!

They wouldn't tell me what happened!! I screamed and shouted!! I'm so useless! If i still had my power they wouldn't be able to hide anything from me!

I'm so, so sorry! You've carried such a heavy burden for the family for so long!

If not for Star! Ah! Even your poor sister has suffered!

Your father should have really told me what was going on!"

Euria's cries were heard from outside the medical room as the doors had never been shut and soon a small team of nurses and a doctor came walking into the room.

"Ma'am we need to look at the young master and check his condition to make sure that he's fine. Please give him some room to breathe or you might suffocate him back into his coma!"

Hearing the doctors words Euria was ready to lash out, but soon she heard her son groaning underneath of her and realized her conduct really wasn't appropriate for the situation.

She held onto Alexiel's hand tightly and gave him a longing look. She then gave a very fierce stern look to the entire medical team before she spoke.

"I'm going down the hall to check on your sisters. I'm sure one of them will explain the situation to you. When I come back I want to hear from you what happened, and you better not try to hide anything from me!"

This time even Alexiel suffered her gaze. She soon let go and was collecting her belongings to head off.

"Wait, mom!

Where's Tristan? Is… is he okay?"

"Tristan is fine, worry about yourself for the moment. you'll see him in no time."

With that statement she blew him a kiss with so much love Alexiel could swear he saw a little heart float out!

One of the nurses closed the door behind her and soon Alexiel was being looked up and down from head to toe.

"Mmmm…

mmm…

mmhmmm.

mmhmm.."

That's all he heard from the doctor that was looking back and forth between his chart and his body. If it was another situation he may have been irritated, but clearly this was not the time or the place to throw a tantrum. Hadn't his mother just left his bedside, he couldn't imagine she would leave him in a den of wolves.

"If someone could take the time to explain to me what's happening I would be very grateful."

He said in a light sing-songy voice.

All the nurses looked at the doctor waiting for his decision.

"Young master, do you remember me? We met one time a few years back when your father was delivering to our clinic outside of Battery Park.

I'm Dr. Cali, ring any bells?"

Alexiel blinked, having your questions answered with another question… sigh. All he could do is let the doctor lead at this moment.

"Yes, Dr. Cali, I remember your clinic well. Going to the river by the park is actually a favorite hobby of mine so I often pass by your location.

You gave me a raspberry loli back then hehe"

This time Dr. Cali met Alexiels eye's and you could see the genuine happiness in being remembered.

"Excellent! I feel recognized!

Can you recall the events that transpired before you woke up here?"

Alexiel felt happy being able to make someone's day, even if it didn't have much personal meaning to him.

Lying back on his pillow Alexiel closed his eyes and tried to recall.

Suddenly in the darkness of his mind, flashes of red, blue, purple, and gold streaked across. These colors were full of scenes of the happenings of that night back at the factory.

The last scene that overtook everything was of his father's body strung up on S hooks bleeding out into buckets with layers of skin missing and chunks of muscle torn out.

No Alexiel did not break out into a blood thirst craze again. He just used his free arm and covered his eyes with his inner elbow and wept silently to himself.

Dr. Cali didn't let this go unnoticed and seemed to check a few boxes on his paperwork.

"I know you just experienced a moment of extreme duress. You did what any filial son in your position would. Every single one of those beast's died miserably, so you don't have to worry about them getting off easy.

But there's good news, your father is still among the living! He of course has not fully healed and has been put into an induced medical coma in an attempt to preserve his mind, but he is alive nonetheless!

Before he could look up and ask to see his father, what greeted his eyes was one of the nurses pulling the curtains back from the covered area in the corner of the room.

In the corner what could be seen was a standing pod, and in the pod his fathers body was encased in gel. His mouth was covered in a breathing apparatus, and there was a screen off to the side that allowed others to check his vitals!

Alexiel got a little choked up seeing his father, now that he was aware of it he could actually feel their connection no problem and knew that the blood in his body was working to speed up his father's recovery!

Alexiel felt greatly alleviated at this sight. He turned to the doctor with a smile on his face.

"Give my thanks to sister Cassandra Dr. Cali. I don't have the words to express how much this means to me."

Before the doctor could reply the door to the medical room were pushed open. No one on the team objected or shouted blindly in an attempt to shoo whoever the intruder was out of the young master's room.

If someone opened the door to young masters recovery station then they had full authority to be here and little vampires like them should just lower their heads.

"Tsk Tsk, why not thank me in person Honey!"
