Caleb climbed into his bunk bed ignoring the looks and the knocked out bully in the floor, took out a shadow grimoire and started reading.

During the day, thousands of people arrived at the barracks as each barrack had around two hundred bunks. No one bothered Caleb as the rumor he knocked out a noble with one punch spread like wildfire. Soon the next day came and they all woke up very early for the exams to start. They walked to the arena where an announcement explaining how the exam would be.

They entered the arena and lined in their respective groups, each group was made up of roughly thirty people so there were hundreds of groups. There was a huge board near the stage. A woman in her thirties walked to the stage, she had military uniform and a scar on her right eye.

"Listen up, the entrance tests will begin shortly, each of you has been assigned a group. You will find your group in this board here. If you do not have your exam today, you can go to the city or watch the other's exams but cannot leave under any circumstances and you cannot take off your magical uniform. The exam consists of three parts. One, you will undertake a magical power exam using one of our crystals. Two, you will enter the arena and face a one on one duel against another participant, if you lose, you're out. Three, if you win, you will face what we call challenge round, where you will face rounds of Echoes increasing in numbers and difficulty. We do not want to see overwhelming strength, but control. Now let the exam, begin!"

Everyone rushed towards the board in order to see their schedule, the Z groups would be first and the A groups would be last, putting Caleb somewhere near the end. The exams would take roughly one or two weeks as half of the people would be eliminated in the first round by not having enough magical power and then half of the remaining half would lose their duel.

Mostly nobles who had received tutelage would make it to the survival round, which was mostly a show for the upper echelons to enjoy as if you won the duel you were accepted in the Academy.

◇They want a show? We will give them a motherf*cking show◇

Caleb stayed to watch some of the other's duels just to asses their level. He found out that most people, even nobles, had the control of an eight year old under his eyes, so it was useless to keep watching. Instead, they went to the city and bought an ice Warrior tome called "Frostbite". They had a couple of days before their exam and wanted to make the most out of it. That also included takinga advantage of their father-in-law.

Gregory gifted Caleb a couple of flowers when he said he was unable to take Echo missions while using the uniform, which was true. With these they also bought an ice grimoire called "Snow" and a Rogue ice scroll called ༒Skate༒.

༒Skate: the user is able to ice skate in order to double their movement speed.༒

They were finally ready to give the examiners a show and teach the nobles a lesson.

Caleb walked to the magic crystal and places his hand on it. He poured enough magical power so his next actions were credible but not enough to catch unwanted attention. They then walked into the arena, this time, the arena was a vast grassland with few trees. They could see the barrier protecting the ones in the seats from what happened in the middle of the arena.

As they were almost of the last, the arena was packed with people, both failed and successful candidates. There were around ten thousand people gathered in the arena which didn't even looked full. On the other side, they saw the same guy that had bullied them and immediately knew they had pissed someone important off as this could not be a coincidence.

"Haha, we meet again nightmare, this time you won't get lucky. I'll make you suffer"- a devilish smile appeared on the guy's face as the countdown started.

"Three, two, one. START!"

The bully dashed forward while as ten fireballs appeared on the sky. He had mastered silent casting. He then moved his arms upwards and a few vines came out of the ground and tied Caleb, who hadn't moved, down. Then, the ten fireballs launched forward.

Caleb then finally moved. He separated his arms and the vines broke with his pure strength, then, a small earth wall appeared and Caleb disappeared in it's shadow as the ten fireballs crashed into the grassland missing Caleb completly.

◇Is he for real? Those vines were like paper!◇

◯Do not get distracted Ace◯

◇Oh common, Caleb can handle him on his own◇

~She's right Trevor, leave him to me~

Caleb reappeared right in the bully's shadow who had now stopped to look around.

"Behind you!"- someone shouted from the seats.

Immediately the bully surrounded Caleb and himself in a ball of water stopping Caleb in his tracks. Caleb simply breathed out and the ball froze, trapping the bully inside as Caleb was allowed to move freely.

The bully started heating his body up in order to melt the ice encasing him but he was too slow. Caleb had already shattered the ice bringin the bully to his knees as Caleb kicked him in the head knocking him out, again.

Gasps were audible from the crowd as no one expected this result.

"Great job commoner, now you will face the challenge mode"- these words caused an uproar in the crowd as no rest was given to the mystery commoner who beat a noble kid.

In no less than ten second, doors opened and five people came out. They were D rank Echoes who were friends of the noble and would love to kill the one responsible for his failed exam.

"You stand no chance kid, the less you struggle the faster you will fall"- the guy who spoke was a tall man with brown skin and a bulky complexion.

"Oh but sir, they want a show, so I will give them a show"- with that, Caleb sent a wave of ice magic which transformed the grassland into a snowy lake. The grass where they were standing frozen solid. And then, Caleb dashed forward.
