Michaela's heart pounded in her chest as she surveyed the ominous sight before her. A grotesque network of pulsating veins slithered towards them, emanating an unsettling energy. Trembling, she hastily conjured a protective shield using her arcane abilities, enveloping herself and Lucius within its shimmering barrier.
