"None of it makes sense," Eve blurted out.

How could someone she just met say those things? She frowned. "I appreciate your efforts, Your Highness, but I am not easily impressed. Can we move on to more pressing matters?"

Vampires were manipulative and cunning.

How could she begin to believe someone like him?

Eve was not a fool.

People that she trusted the most, betrayed her once.

Letting someone else betray her again would only show how stupid she was.

What happened earlier was all for show.
