1 Chapter 1

So cold…I want to get up but the liquid that keeps gushing out of my stomach and the pain from the burns almost left me in a black state. I'm in the middle of the road and so it seems that my things have been stolen. I sighed and tried to muster all my strength to get up.

"Aarghh!! Damn it!" I cursed frustratedly and was gasping for breath as the strain from trying to get up flooded inside me.

I give up and just stared at the night sky as the first snow of the year started to fall. They say that those who died without being able to fulfill their purpose in life are bound to reincarnate. I wonder what's my purpose in life and if I've already fulfilled it. I mean, given that I'm already dying, I suppose I did.

I don't know how much time has passed since I began gazing at the sky, despite the snow continuously descending upon my entire being, including my eyes, causing them to tear up. I keep my eyes open and let the tears keep streaming down to the side of my ear. The helplessness and regrets that I felt keeps bubbling inside me.The only way I can release these emotions is through tears. The air grows colder, and my body becomes entirely enveloped by snow, as I see my breath in the form of smoke. I look up one more time and screamed to the top of my lungs until I felt the sensation of my lungs constricting inside me like a crushing force.

The pain was unbearable and I ultimately draw my last breath contentedly, slowly succumbing to the embrace of darkness.

***************

I jolted up clutching my head as I tried to forget the nightmare that I had. I reached for the wine bottle and a glass in the bedside table and slowly walked onto the balcony as I know that I won't be getting any sleep tonight.

"Looks like you're gonna accompany me again tonight my Chateau Lafite 1787" I chuckled and sat down in my laidback chair. I chugged down the wine from the bottle and purposely forgot the glass that was in my hand. I reminisce once again about the dream that I had.

That scene again…in the middle of the road and me being left there to die…who was I?

I always knew that it was me and that I had a past life but I can't remember who I am and the clothes that I wore were different than what I wear here.

I slowly stood up and walked to the edge of the balcony while feeling the moon's rays on my skin.

I heard faint footsteps but I never bothered to turn around. I know that footsteps sound all too well to not know who is approaching me. I smiled.

"Your Highness, it's me Kairo and I have come to bid you farewell"

I quickly turn around in shock as I processed what he said but I wasn't able to as I felt his grip in my shoulder and a sharp thing pierced in the flesh of my back. "Aarghh!" I moaned in pain as I clutched his shirt and stared at him with a hint of confusion and pain from he's betrayal. I tried to fight back but he pushed me and I slowly fell from the balcony of my castle . It felt like slow motion as I saw how his lips curled up into a menacing smile. I felt my bones crack and the blade thoroughly pierced my stomach, so much so that I couldn't even scream. As the pain exploded within me, I silently gasped until I could no longer bear it and blacked out.

I inhaled a deep breath as I woke up wondering what was going on and looked around. I was still on the balcony laying in my chair and clutching my Chateau Lafite 1787 bottle. I stood up shakily and held the rim of the balcony for support. I looked up and saw the moon exactly as how it was in my dream. I didn't pay too much attention on it not until I heard the same footsteps and his words.

"Your Highness, it's me Kairo and I have come to bid you farewell."
