Ethan; A Story Untold (HxH fanfic)

"A funny thing death is, it comes as it pleases, gives no warning nor cares if you were done with life or not" said he, being as disgruntled as he was helpless. "Really ? I think its sad itself, having to take everything from billions and more. I too, wouldn't want to show my face either, as an existence hated by all." said she, being as gentle as she was kind. And yet, when he lost it all, it was her hands that were stained. "We will meet again" said she. 'Sure, lets meet again in hell' thought he, for he too had sinned. And thus Ethan lost the chance given to us all, he lost his life. But not all was bad, he could start anew. Though having lost all he owned was a hefty price indeed. Declaimer- This is a hxh fan-fic, i own none of the character of hxh universe nor the artwork used.

Chapter-7

Ethan took the training of his 'will' to the next stage, he tried influencing objects outside his body. Thinking of starting with something small, he took a tiny piece of paper and 'willed' it to float up from his finger. The paper slowly started to move up as Ethan felt a sudden weakness, he was hit with a pang of nausea as his vision blurred. Ethan withdrew his 'will' and started panting.

'This is much harder than using it inside my body'

After resting for a few minutes, he tried to do the same thing but took a longer paper and and put it between his index and middle finger with a little gap beneath it, then 'willed' that the air around the paper to expand and get lighter. It put him under much less stain compared to the previous experiment and the paper actually floated faster, but as it got away from him the strain increased and he relented. He still felt a little nauseous and his vision wavered a little.

After resting a minute , he tired to yet again do the same thing but this time he 'willed' to cancel the effect of gravity on the paper. He felt like something was draining out of him and as he lowered his hand, the paper remained in its place, hovering, before fluttering away from Ethan's breath and the stress didnt seem to increase much from the increase in distance and nor was he feeling much nauseous, he then tried to control it from his 'will' and felt a little pain in his head, as he felt as if the paper was becoming more heavier and his nausea becoming worse. He again had to relent, gulping something disgusting in his throat he felt the worst of the dizziness he had ever felt.

And so he laid, hoping he wont vomit.

As he started to get better, he thought up a yet another new idea, remembering that nausea was usually felt from a few reasons that were either lack of supply of oxygen to the brain, contradiction of feedback from sensory organs or a stomach problem. Though none of them exactly fit the bill, he made a theory that his nausea must be the mixture of the unfamiliarity with perceiving things outside of his body or/and a lack of energy in his body while he is using it outside.

So he 'wished' his lungs to grow stronger and absorb more air, his heart to beat harder, his stomach to absorb the food faster. He wanted to absorb that energy and then convert it into something flowing inside him, something that made him able to stand the pressure he had decided to face. Yes, when he choose the hxh world, he had a plan for if he was unable to cope up with the world, as this world was not too different from his previous world and the whatever shown in anime was truly just a small part of it, something that was a little detached from the normal populace. There were still people who lived normally and he could probably fit in. But sensing the 'Wills Of The World' had changed everything, the pressure he felt, as if he was an ant in front of a dragon had shaken him to the core, but using the 'will' had also given him confidence; it had given him hope.

He felt as if something inside him had burst open, power, the likes of which he had never felt before burst out of him, it was gushing out making him feel faint

'No! Stay!'Ethan 'ordered'.

And as if all the energy was being sucked into a vortex, it was absorbed by Ethan, and none of it leaked anymore. Ethan felt it build inside of him, starting with his chest and stopping not till it had completely filled him, there was no way Ethan couldn't recognize this energy, this was nen. A mixture of vitality and will, perhaps accepting the 'will' as something that belonged to him and 'desiring' to merge with it was the answer to nen and to the residents of this world, this was the norm, something they had accepted without questioning and those who sensed it started to be able to influence it. Ethan took a deep breath, which felt deeper, more refreshing.

This abrupt change was not unnoticed by George, who was in the living room, enjoying the peaceful life or rather the last day of it. He rushed towards Ethan's room, fearing the worst. As he slammed open the room to come face to face, yes face to face with a feet tall infant who was currently standing on the arm of the cradle with his iconic thoughtful look.

George's already thumping heart almost leaped out of his chest, he was too confused about the whole situation, his son was standing! and if that was not alarming enough he was standing on a very dangerous place, and if that was not enough his existence was very faint, and if George didnt know where to look he wouldnt have been able to find him. With his brain too overwhelmed his instincts and muscles memory took over, he activated ten, hugged Ethan and covered his body for protection and leaped out of the room from where he had felt a weird nen signature appear and disappear, he scanned the room for a second and quickly rushed towards his wife, who was anxious to see her husband with such a serious look and complied when he handed over their son to her.

All this happened within a few seconds and by the time George's prudence came about he was already protecting his family by using a 40 meter sphere of en, prepared to act as a wall for anything trying to harm his family.

A few tense minutes passed as nothing happened, and then Ethan released his aura a little, showing a rudimentary application of ten and making his father stare at him wide eyed as he disabled the en and collapsed with exhaustion, both physical and mental.
