Ethan; A Story Untold (HxH fanfic)

"A funny thing death is, it comes as it pleases, gives no warning nor cares if you were done with life or not" said he, being as disgruntled as he was helpless. "Really ? I think its sad itself, having to take everything from billions and more. I too, wouldn't want to show my face either, as an existence hated by all." said she, being as gentle as she was kind. And yet, when he lost it all, it was her hands that were stained. "We will meet again" said she. 'Sure, lets meet again in hell' thought he, for he too had sinned. And thus Ethan lost the chance given to us all, he lost his life. But not all was bad, he could start anew. Though having lost all he owned was a hefty price indeed. Declaimer- This is a hxh fan-fic, i own none of the character of hxh universe nor the artwork used.

Chapter-2

"Where am I ?" Groaned Ethan, a sense of dejavu hitting him.

'Please tap to read the msg'

Said a translucent blue screen in front of him.

He looked around, only to come to face with a darkness that didn't seem dark, he tried to move around yet found himself incapable of doing so, it was a weird sensation - he felt he was moving his legs, yet was going nowhere.

With no other solution in sight, he complied with the instructions on the screen

" You have died, but fret not for it is not the end , being the merciful God I am, I would let you choose the way to you wish to proceed"

The screen flashed as soon as the message ended.

'

Ways to proceed:

1. Go to heaven (100 karma points)

2. Reincarnate (0 karma points)

3. Be trapped in the limbo till you dissipate (0 karma points)

4. Go to hell (-25 karma points)

Current Karma points- 127 (all values are subtracted)

time before your soul dissipates- 20 soul units (each soul unit can be exchanged for 25 karma points)

Note- you can navigate the panel to and fro, but please make hast in your decision, if your soul dissipates your karma points would be transferred over to the next soul.

'

Ethan was overwhelmed, but strangely calm. He knew that panicking is the last thing he would want to do in this situation, he needs to choose and fast as the timer had already hit 19 soul units.

Ignoring the other two absurd choices, he first selected the Heaven choice

'

Heaven-

Free food

Free internet

Free toys and games

Friendly people to interact with

Rest is up to you as to how you spend your eternity

'

'Not exactly bad but lets check the reincarnation choice' though Ethan

'

Reincarnation-

1. Into your previous world (500 Karma)

2. Into a random world (10 karma)

3. Into a random/chosen world with some choice (10 points for fantasy, -200 to 10000 points for an imagination world humans have created(if you choose multiple worlds their avg would be taken and random world would be chosen), 25 points for a non-fantasy world, 500 points for a world with higher energy levels, -100 for a dangerous world, a world where Harambe wasn't killed (501 points), a world where there is a NGNL season 2 (550 points) ....)

Perks (most of the choices come with a setting to deposit karma for a stronger effect )-

Luck-(0 karma points entered)

Love-(0 karma points entered)

Talent-(0 karma...)

Beauty-(0 karma...)

Magic-(0....)

...

Choosing the timeline you are born in (100 karma points)

Keeping your memory- (250 karma points)

Gift of gods- (1000 karma points)

A system- (2500 karma points, can be further enhanced through karma points)

Time and space manipulation- (1,000,000,000 karma points)

Creation Ability-(1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 karma points)

Note- All the unspent karma points remain as agents that help you commit more good deeds and multiply your karma accumulation by a factor of 1.0001 per karma point(for example if you had saved 100 karma points, and earned 1000 karma points for the next turn you would get 1000x(1.0001^100)=1010 karma points)

'

Ethan read the choices and was stunned for a second, ignoring the absurd and unrealistic choices, he quickly checked the time left, but to his surprise there was still the no.'19' written there, 'maybe they decided to turn the first no. fast so as to keep people on their toes'.

Ethan discovered that he could use his thoughts to navigate around the options, and the more a world was 'dangerous' the less one had to pay, for example all the world which were closer to his previous world were around 1000 points when accessed through the 'choice' section, and they even seem to award points for taking dangerous worlds but not too many, maybe to discourage the dangerous behavior but helping if one has no choice, 'Maybe God isnt so bad after all, welp, he might not be omnipotent after all'.

Ethan realized something, he realized the true worth of the 'keeping your memory' choice, now that he knows that God exists or that this system exists, he could use it to earn karma and reincarnate into a progressive spiral to keep more karma, and potentially even achieve those ridiculous amounts of karma to buy Creation, but he knew he had no such lofty goals, but he wanted to remember this life, he couldn't bear to forget it as each moment is precious, a painful realization that came now that he couldn't go back and correct what is wrong, he couldn't help but envy the living, those who still can change without loosing everything.

Knowing that moping around would do him no good, he asked the panel to convert all his spirit units into karma except 5.

But when he was going to choose a relatively less dangerous world with the karma along with keeping his memory, he saw something that would change his yet to begin life.
