When he stepped inside, he was greeted by the smell of food. Sure enough there was Sumire in the kitchen, her hair was tied up as she wore his apron and she had a bowl in her hands.

"Ah!! Your back! Welcome home Toh." Sumire was placing the bowl down onto the counter.

"Um, I'm sorry for intruding but I just--"

Toh brings Sumire to his arms and a content sigh escapes his lips. Just having her in his arms like this is more than enough.

Sumire hugged him back. "I'm here."

Those words have never sounded as beautiful as they have now.

It takes him a few minutes to compose himself and explain what happened. 

"Your parents?" Sumire said.

"Yeah. I already suspected they were alive before, but I only confirmed it with Mirako a year ago."

Sumire immediately understood. "This is why you were trying to stay away from me. You didn't want your father hurting me."
