This is his story. **Author Notice : This is my first Fanfic, I’ve alway loved reading, and I fell in love with the short yet interesting Fan-fics I found on this site, so I figured I would try my hand at something bouncing around in my head. Update speed will depend on my mood, as I’m learning as I write. My first language is English, but when it come to writing I’ve always been great at the concept, but lacked heavily in being able to formulate conversations and potential conflict. But I will learn. Thanks for the insterest.

Ending of an Era

He had seen all there was to see, done all there was to be done. He had adventured the stars, lived, loved and lost. He had seen more in 100 years of life than most mortals, will ever see. But he was only mortal. Cursed with mortality at the cost of his sins. He had spent his entire life atoning for the destruction his creations caused, he had thrown himself into creating medicine and treatments for thousands of diseases and viruses. His genetic treatments saving humans from mortality, and treating trillions in the universe.

As he lay on the cold metal slab he called a bed, he thought of those he had loved and lost, who had scarified so much to support him on his journey of self redemption. His wife Selene who chose to forfeit the genetic treatments that would make her immortal, just to live and die by his side. She deserved so much better than him.

He looked beside him, at the woman who lay staring at him. Still the most beautiful woman he had ever seen, even when her hair started to shine grey and her skin wrinkle and her skin spot with age. He stared into her hazel eyes, into the face of the woman he has loved all his life. He knew this would be the last time he could stare into those calm and loving eyes. He reached out his hand and held her hand as he felt his consciousness slipping away and his heartbeat slow, age and death tightening their grip on him. He closed his eyes, for the last.
