The scar on his heart

However, the man did not stop upon hearing his grandmother's words, if anything he picked up his pace and started running even faster. When Grandma Nelson saw that the man with the mask was running away with the girl in his arms, she couldn't help but raise her voice,

"Someone help! That man is kidnapping a young girl!" Grandma Nelson shouted to catch the attention of the people in the park. Her shout was loud enough for a few young men to hear, they all looked at the kidnapper and then rushed towards him.

"Damn you old hag," the kidnapper cursed in a muffled voice. He threw the girl on the ground and ran away from the park. However, even when the kidnapper was gone far away, Noah heard the kidnapper say, "You will pay for this!"

Noah was worried about his grandmother's safety, he could see that the kidnapper was not a good man. However, his grandmother did not seem to be worried about her safety, instead, she walked over to the spot where the little girl was lying.

"Goodness, what did that man do to her? Even after being thrown on the ground so harshly, she did not open her eyes," Grandma Nelson spoke worriedly as she looked at the little girl whose light pink hair was scattered all over the ground.

Her complexion was pale, the girl looked sick.

"Grandma, let's leave," Noah was worried that the kidnapper would come back and hurt his grandma. "We should go back home now, someone will take her to the hospital, she will be fine."

He didn't want his grandma to be in danger because of an unknown girl.

"We can't, Noah," said Grandma Nelson with a worried expression. Her stern eyes filled with worry. "This little girl is drugged, if we do not help her, then she will be in grave danger."

As she spoke, she took out her phone and called the ambulance.

It did not take long for the ambulance to arrive. The nurses picked up the little girl and placed her on the stretcher before bringing her inside the ambulance.

The doctor in charge said with a slight crease on his forehead, "It looks like that the kidnapper fed fentanyl to this poor child. Fortunately, the dose was not severe, or else she would have been paralyzed. We will pump her stomach, this drug is harsh for a child around her age, but we cannot do anything. If we leave the drug inside her stomach, it will harm her."

"Oh dear," Grandma Nelson gasped as she looked at the child on the stretcher, feeling even more sorry for her. She did not expect that the kidnapper would be this cruel.

Even Noah sensed that something was wrong with the girl. He looked at her worriedly before turning to look at his grandma, who conversed with the doctor for a few more minutes. He obediently stood silently on the side and once the ambulance was gone, he asked his grandmother, "Will that girl be fine?"

"She should be," said his grandmother with a frown on her face. "I just can't believe that people can be this cruel. That girl is just a child, how can they harm her like this?" She shook her head and turned to look at her grandson before saying, "Shall we go back? I will pick up the ball that rolled to the other side of the street."

Noah pursed his lips and then nodded.

The two of them walked out of the park and Grandma Nelson asked Noah to stand on the pavement. She crossed the street and walked over to the other side, though she was healthy and much more agile than the rest of the elderlies in her group. Her speed was still slow, it took her a bit of time to get to the side of the street.

She then crouched down to pick up the ball that Noah had dropped earlier, however just as she picked up the ball, a loud screech echoed behind her.

Noah's eyes widened when he saw the car hitting his grandmother. The loud bang echoed in his ears as he watched his grandmother fall on the street. The light in her eyes started to dim and blood pooled on the spot where she fell.

"GRANDMA!" Noah screamed, his lips trembling as he rushed to the other side of the street. His gaze fell on the car that was driving away after hitting his grandmother and through the small opening on the driver's side, he caught the side profile of the kidnapper who threatened his grandmother earlier.

However, he was just a child and his ability was limited, he couldn't catch the kidnapper and could only helplessly watch him run away.

"Grandma!" He ignored the murderer and focused on his grandmother on the road. A sob escaped his lips as he looked at his grandmother who raised a shaking hand and cupped his cheek, "I… I will always love you, my dear."

"No, No… Grandma, you will be fine!" Noah told his grandmother as he reached out to hold his grandmother, tears fell down his cheeks as he watched his grandmother's smile turn stiff and her eyes turn lifeless.

"Grandma!"

"GRANDMA!" Unable to contain the grief that his young heart couldn't withstand, Noah screamed as loudly as he could, he blamed the kidnapper, and he blamed the little girl for his grandmother's death.

If not for that girl, his grandmother wouldn't have died. Why did she have to appear in front of them? It was all her fault!

"That darned girl," he cursed as the pedestrians on the street started rushing towards them.

"Young man, get away from her."

"Young man!"

"YOUNG MAN."

Noah snapped out of his daze and looked at the elderly nurse in front of him. She was looking at him with a frown.

"The doctor has called for you, follow me, sir," the elder nurse said to him as she straightened up and then walked over to the examination where they had taken Ari. Only then did Noah remember where he was.
