34 An opportunity
Ariel felt her face heat up, even with her little finger she could tell that Aiden was mocking her. He was disrespecting her in disguise and yet, there was nothing that Ariel could do because if she were to contradict Aiden, it would be her who would seem unreasonable.
This tactic was something that Ariel had used many times against Ari, and was thus very well aware of the consequences if she were to retort. Never in a million years, Ariel would have thought that one day she would be pushed into a corner like how she had pushed Ariana.
"Doctor Aiden——" Noah could see that the man was trying to pick faults with Ariel, but before he could reprimand Aiden, the door of the office that belonged to Aiden was pushed open. The bodyguard whom Noah ordered to keep an eye on Ari walked inside and from just one look at the expression of the man, Noah knew something was wrong.
Before he could stop and think, his feet had already led him out of the office even Mrs. Nelson, who seemed to have sensed something was up, chased after her son. She hoped that Ari hadn't pulled another stunt, or else that woman better not blame her.
When Ariel saw that Noah had left the office, her expression turned sour. Though her wound was not severe, she had still bled a lot, should he not stay by her side until she was done treating her wounds?
"Shall I bandage your wound, or should we wait for Mister Nelson to come back?" Aiden asked with a smile on his face.
His question caused Ariel to flush red in shame and humiliation, while Glynn who couldn't catch his meaning frowned.
"What do you mean by that? Shouldn't you be bandaging her wounds since she is injured?" Glynn asked with a harsh voice as she looked at Aiden, who despite his annoyance continued to smile.
He then stated in a calm voice, "I know that I should be bandaging her wound, but the question is, is she willing to do that?"
Glynn was just a naive young miss whose head was filled with more arrogance than wits. She couldn't understand what Aiden was trying to say, but Ariel did, she glared at the man while Glynn was not looking. However, her glare didn't ruffle Aiden's feathers.
He was not even scared of Noah Nelson, as his cousin was Nicolai De Luca. So why would he mind a small actress?
When Ariel saw the contempt in Aiden's eyes, she bit her bottom lip. With her sweet smile and beautiful face, she had charmed every man who had been once close to Ariana. So when she saw the sympathy according to this doctor towards Ari, she wanted to snatch that sympathy for herself as well.
However, she didn't expect the man to find her despicable!
Ariel took a deep breath and then smiled sweetly as if it weren't her who had glared at Aiden. She said, "Please help me bandage my wound, doctor."
Outside the ward in the resting area, Noah was breathing harshly. He looked at the bodyguards who failed to keep his wife in her ward and came back like two failures.
"You fools! How could a woman escape from your eyes?" He scolded the two men. His voice was colder than ice as he clenched and unclenched his fingers, he wished to hurl his fists in the faces of these bodyguards, but Noah would never do something so barbaric.
Bloodthirsty actions like these only suited people like Nicolai and not him.
"Exactly! A woman vanished right in front of you, and you two had no idea? What were you doing!" Mrs Nelson felt like the world was falling apart. Ari was gone, and she had left nothing behind apart from the divorce agreement, if that man who had handed the responsibility of Ari in her hands, came to find out about it——
Mrs. Nelson shuddered. She didn't even want to think about what kind of bloody calamity she had to face if she didn't get her hands on Ari!
"What are you standing here for? Go and look for her! She is a human after all, it's not like she can vanish like a ghost!" Mrs. Nelson exclaimed. At that moment, she only wanted one thing, and that was to get Ari back no matter what!
The bodyguards exchanged a glance before the taller one said, "We looked for Madam, but she seemed to have taken a taxi before we could find her. We don't know where she went either, as she is not carrying her phone."
"Useless! You all are useless!" Mrs. Nelson shrieked, having a fit which held quite a contrast with her usual ladylike self.
"Mother, calm down," Noah was having a headache bad enough to make him faint and yet, his mother was shrilling screaming in his ears. It made him annoyed and angry.
"How can I calm down?" Mrs Nelson questioned her son hysterically. Though she couldn't tell the family secret to Noah, she could still make excuses that would explain why she was so angry and antsy. "Your wife ran away. Do you even know what kind of scandal it will cause in the society? People will point at us and laugh, they will call you names for not being able to keep your wife!"
"This is a scandal, I am telling you, Noah!"
The door of the resting room opened and Glynn who heard her mother scream questioned, "Mom, what do you mean by that Ari ran away?"
"I mean it literally," Mrs Nelson snapped harshly as she rubbed her throbbing forehead. "She snuck out of the ward and ran away, now we are going to become a joke in the higher society if we don't find her. How can she be so selfish? For her satisfaction, she will bring embarrassment to our family."
Mrs. Nelson didn't believe that Ari truly wanted a divorce, in her eyes, it was just a tantrum thrown at her son because he was not giving Ari what she wanted and nothing more.
When Glynn and Ariel heard the response of Mrs. Nelson, they had different reactions. While Glynn was angry at Ari for not caring about their family, Ariel was overjoyed when she realized that her opportunity to make Noah, her man, was finally here.
