Escape Hell to become a God

Adam lived a normal life until he was 16, that's when everything changed. All humans were connected to the 'system' and monsters spawned randomly all over the world. The monsters became more and more numerous and stronger and so the humans became stronger but also fewer in number. One day Adam died fighting one of these monsters and went to hell. But Adam escaped and his soul occupied the body of a newborn lying in front of a shrine. Luckily, Adam was found by a woman who raised him, the goddess Gloria. But becoming a true god takes more than being trained by angels and the goddess milk. So Adam has to cut off some of his powers and go to the mortal world... Yeah I know... I've started a few novels lately and never continued them. I just stopped enjoying these novels after a while. That's why I didn't publish this one, but since a few chapters have been jammed up so far, I wanted to share them with you. Maybe you like what I wrote in my little free time. I really wanted a character that would NOT go to the adventurers' guild. At first I thought of a salesman, but in the end I came up with something else. I am not a professional! Just an amateur writer doing this in his very limited free time because he enjoys it, so you'll find mistakes and things that may not quite add up, but I hope you enjoy reading.

Escape

In the infinite Hallway, a man ran for his life. The infinite Hallway connects hell with all kinds of worlds, so demons can travel from world to world. Unlike the demons, this man who escaped hell didn't know to which world the doors would lead. Different-looking doors lined up on each side so that every few steps there was a new door. The man named Adam didn't dare to open one of these. So he kept running down the curved hallway to get rid of his pursuer.

"HEEEEYYYYYY! Are you still running? Come on, let me catch you! I have a nice surprise for you!" A lovely female voice called out to the man, which made him run even faster.

With her full and red lips formed into a sadistic smile, a black-haired woman walked down the hallway. With backward bent horns on her head, batlike wings on her back, and a long and thin tail.

'Shit! Should I keep running or should I use a door? No! I can't keep running like this! If I do she will catch up and drag me down to hell again. I don't want to go back to hell under any circumstances! I have to choose a door and hope, that she doesn't find out which!' The man thought as he sped up.

"HEY! It was fun chasing you around, but let's end it here!" The Demon shouted and pointed a finger in the direction where the man should be. A red ball of light appeared at her fingertip, illuminating her perfect body.

With a whistling sound, the ball of light shot forward, missing its target only by a few centimeters. Not even thinking about it, startled by the sudden attack, the man opened a fancy-looking door.

Getting through the golden door, he stumbled and found himself in a well-lit forest. When he turned around, he could only see the door vanishing into thin air.

"What? I...It's gone!" The man said, surprised.

He stood up and ran in the opposite direction of where the door was just a few seconds ago. He followed a thin path that looked like it had not been used for a long time. It would be better to get as far away from the door as possible. It was unlikely that the demon would find out which door he took, but it was better to be safe than sorry.

After running for a few minutes, the man came to a halt and looked around. Most trees here looked familiar to him, but some were different. He reached out to grab what seemed to be an apple, but it passed through his transparent hand.

"Shit! As a soul, I can't interact with anything here. It seems like I need a body." The transparent man thought when he scratched his head.

Adam kept on walking for what felt like hours until he came to a clearing. He hid behind a big tree when he saw a couple kneeling in front of what seemed to be a shrine. Adam watched them for a while, but couldn't understand what they were mumbling. After a while, the couple stood up, leaving something like a bundle of clothes and fruits in front of the shrine. Adam felt a strange pull on him when he saw the small bundle of fabric.

When they turned to leave, the woman started to cry. When she turned around again and was about to pick up the small bundle, the man stopped her. The man didn't lose any time and pulled her close to him for a hug.

"BOOOOO! Fufufufu... Hahahaha! That was fun!" When Adam heard the voice he knew just too well, a shiver ran down his spine.

He turned around and opened his eyes in shock when he looked into the yellow glowing eyes. The eyes that belonged to the Demon that tortured him for so long.

"Sa... Sareva!" He said with a shaking voice. He experienced on his own how cruel and merciless those damn demons are.

"Fufufufu, awww you called me by my name. Come on, let me bring you back, we will have so much fun!" The woman said with a grin and kicked him so hard he flew away.

"Arghh!" With a bang, Adam crashed into the small wooden shrine.

"AAAAAAAAHHHHH, DEMON!"

"Oh shit! Wha... What is a demon doing here?" The couple were in shock when Sareva walked over to them with a grin and her tail flicking from left to right.

"So...rry, but no witnesses!" She said in a melodic voice, her sharp claws ripped the man's throat out. So fast that the man couldn't even react. Sareva's tail coiled around the woman's neck to strangle her.

The woman struggled to loosen the tail around her neck and kicked the demon with all her might.

"HAHAHA! You are an energetic one, aren't you?" Sareva laughed at the lousy efforts of the woman. Sareva's strength was in a completely different league, so with a quick twist and a cracking sound the woman's body went limp.

While the demon was busy, Adam struggled against an unknown force. Desperately, he tried to crawl away from the shrine, but he couldn't find a spot to grab and pull himself away. But contrary to his assumption, he didn't get sucked into the shrine; he got sucked into the bundle of clothes.

"AAAAAHHH, What is that?" Adam tried everything to get away, but it was useless; the pulling force was too strong. After a while, he felt like he was falling into a deep pit and everything was dark. When Adam opened his eyes again, he found himself lying on the ground, looking up into the blue sky.

"OH, You got sucked into the body of a baby. HAHAHA, this sounds funny." Sareva, who appeared over him laugh like a maniac.

Adam was in a panic, now with this tiny body, he couldn't even run.

Suddenly, a strong gust of wind blew through the forest, bending the trees, whirling up leaves and dust.

"How dare you to mess with my offerings and defile my shrine! FILTHY DEMON, prepare for my divine punishment!" A raging female voice resounded in the forest, causing the ground to shake.

There she was, wearing a tight-fitting white dress that revealed a little too much of her white skin. She had long blonde hair that made her blood-red lips stand out even more.

"Y... You damn third-class goddess! This soul belongs to me!" Sareva yelled out in anger and spat on the ground.

The Blonde goddess raised her arm and snapped her fingers.

"AAAHHH....!" It didn't even take a second and Sareva dissolved in a golden light with a painful scream.

"Hmmm... what do we have here? A few fruits, coins, and a little human child!" The goddess walked closer and looked at the things that were scattered on the ground where her shrine was.

With a wave of her hand the offerings vanished.

"I will let my servants repair the shrine later. But what do I do with you? Hmm... it got quiet in my palace lately since my children already moved out. So i will take you with me " She said and picked Adam up.
