Chapter 32-Necropolis of the Gods

The day for their departure finally arrives. After four months of rest and conditioning, James, Sarah, Douglas, Roger, and Nadia are now fully prepared. They didn't rest for the entire night because of excitement and nervousness. They are just waiting for Ernst to lead them towards the Forest of Darkness.

Ernst finally returns from the pocket dimension.

"Are you ready?" He ask.

"We are all ready." James answered for all of them.

Ernst advises them again. "Don't worry too much. You all trained hard and prepared enough for eight months. I believe all of you will survive and if your lucky you will become Deities. I already told you all the information I know about the Necropolis of the Gods. Your goal there is to use the Necropolis of the Gods to train and gain insights. If you can get a divine spark and divine artifacts, that will be an additional bonus."

Seeing the sun is about to come out, Ernst speaks. "Let's go."

"Swish!" "Swish!" "Swish!" "Swish!" "Swish!" "Swish!"

They all flew towards the heart of the Forest of Darkness.

The High Priest, Dylin and War God O'Brien together with their Saint experts also travel towards the Forest of Darkness at high speed.

Cesar has no Saint representative so he travels alone towards the meeting place.

Upon arriving at the location of the metallic castle, Ernst, and company saw many Saints arrives earlier than them. Most of these Saints were challenge by James and company while they travel around the continent.

"Father, mother, uncles, Nadia. I need to go inside the castle. You can stay here or chat with other Saints. It will be good if you can gather more information." Ernst left and enters the metallic castle.

Inside the metallic castle, Beirut and High Priest were already seated and waiting for everyone.

"Ernst, sit down first, we will start the meeting once the other three Deities arrive." Beirut said.

Ernst sat down and nodded towards the High Priest. After a while War God O'Brien, Cesar, and Dylin finally arrives.

"Now all of you are here, I want to tell you the guardian for the Necropolis of the Gods this time is a full God divine beast Ba-Serpent."

"What?"

Dylin, High Priest, War God O'Brien and Cesar are all shock.

"Lord Beirut, would that be too dangerous for the entering Saints?" War God O'Brien asks.

"Hahaha."

Beirut laughs. "Of course not. The Ba-Serpent likes to sleep. It will be dangerous if they woke up the Ba-Serpent. If that happens, they are truly unlucky."

"Catherine, you tell the Saints outside about the Necropolis of the Gods and the dos and don'ts while they were inside." Beirut added.

On the outside, the Saints are chatting enthusiastically.

"Nadia, you also here? Are you not afraid of the dangers while inside the Necropolis of the Gods." Bebe teased Nadia.

Bebe is the magical beast companion of the protagonist Linley and the grandson of the Wind Sovereign Beirut in the original story.

"Bebe, if you can enter, why do I need to be afraid? Do you want to be beaten up again?" Nadia also teased Bebe.

Nadia and Bebe bickered with each other while other Saints listen to them.

"Oh, Barker, you also came. Where are your brothers?" Douglas asks.

"My brothers are too weak, so ask Lord Linley for a slot to enter the Necropolis of the Gods." Barker said.

"James, Sarah, nice to see you again. Would Lord Ernst worry about you two entering the Necropolis of the Gods?" McKenzie asks.

"Hahaha. McKenzie. Its been a long time since your last visit to the Blackshadow Castle. Ernst suggested us to enter the Necropolis of the Gods. He said it is a good place for us to train and experience life and death struggles." James said.

"McKenzie, you enter because of the divine sparks?" Sarah asks.

McKenzie hesitated, but honestly admitted it. "Yes, you know, I been training for centuries and my hope to become a Deity is very slim. So, acquiring a divine spark is my final option."

The six Deities stays inside the metallic castle. When noon came, Dylin, High Priest, War God O'Brien, Cesar, and Ernst finally came out.

After they came out from the metallic castle, all Saints look and observes the five Deities.

Fain speak to Linley in a low voice. "Linley, if I remember correctly, you also train with the Laws of the Earth, right?"

"Yes, why do you ask?" Answered Linley.

"I just remember Lord Ernst also trains in the Laws of the Earth too. To be precise, he uses vibrations in his attack. It is a bizarre and unique attack that bypass the opponent defense and destroys the internal organs. In the past, during our duel, I almost die because of that attack. Thankfully, I prepared well and manage to protect my internal organs, but I was still injured." Fain reminisced his battle with Ernst.

"Is that true?" Linley was stunned, he thought he was the only one who trains in the 'Profound Truth of Earth-Layered Waves'.

"Yes, it is true. If you have problems about in your Laws of the Earth, you can ask him." Fain advises.

"I'll think about it. Linley shook his head while looking towards Ernst" Linley said.

The High Priest did not waste time and tell the Saints about the Necropolis of the Gods, then she let Desri tell more information about the dos and don'ts while inside.

All Saints and five Deities wait till night for Beirut.

When night came, Beirut decided to show himself. "Bebe, come over here." Beirut call his grandson.

Bebe immediately jumped into Beirut's arms. Everyone present looked at Bebe.

"Grandpa Beirut, let's go. I've been here for so long already." Bebe said in annoyance.

Beirut noticed his grandson's annoyance, nodded, then flew towards the south with his grandson in his arms.

"Let's go." Beirut's gravely voice rang out.

Presently, the five Deities and ninety-plus human and magical beast Saints flew in the air as well.

Ernst flew with his family as he provide further information through divine sense. He also observes the Saints flying with him. He was surprised to see McKenzie and Haydson flying together with the personal disciple of War God O'Brien. Not only that, but he also noticed the Saints and other Deities are showing their goodwill towards Linley because of Bebe.

Late at night, they finally arrive at their destination, the South Sea.

"Right here." Beirut said as he stood in midair above the sea.

"In the depths of the sea here, you will find the tunnel leading to the entrance of the Necropolis of the Gods. The tunnel is roughly twenty thousand meters from the surface of the sea." Beirut laughed calmly. "I trust the water pressure of the deep sea won't affect you. If you can't even withstand a tiny bit of pressure, then it's best to give up right now."

As he spoke, Beirut himself were the first to dive in the water. While he passes through the water, the water splits around him, creating a passage.

Seeing Beirut lead the way, the five Deities and Saints follow him. Saints cast their magic spells or use their battle Qi to cover their bodies as they dive deeper in the sea. Traveling further down, they saw many sea creatures. They even saw countless Saint-level magical beast running away from their group.

After a while, they arrive at the seafloor.

"Here we are." Beirut said.

After hearing Beirut, everyone stops in front of the pitch black boulder.

Beirut's voice sounded in everyone's ear. "This interspatial door is the entrance to the tunnel which leads to the Necropolis of the Gods. Normally, the interspatial door is shut down and covered by an invisible force." As he spoke, Beirut's body suddenly emitted a ray of black light.

The ray of black light struck directly against the interspatial door.

"Rumble...rumble..." The quiet sea floor began to quiver and the previously closed door opens.

"Follow me." Beirut flew to the tunnel as he disappeared from the line of sight of everyone.

The five Deities and Saints follow without hesitation. As they arrive at another plane. They noticed their spiritual energy has been suppressed and can only cover a range of ten meters.

Arriving at the end of the tunnel, they saw a mountain size building twenty thousand meters tall with a base more than ten thousand meters long. The Necropolis of the Gods was cuboid with massive carvings on each side. The four carvings are a dragon, phoenix, tiger and dragon-turtle. Aside from the massive carvings, there are also countless small sculptures.

Beirut looked at the small sculptures as well. "Judging from these small sculptures….. This time, the guardian of the first eleven floors of the Necropolis of the Gods will be the divine beast Ba-Serpent."

"The divine beast Ba-Serpent?" Aside from Ernst and his family, the eighty plus Saints were confused and afraid. They knew the words divine beast meant, it represents a Deity-level expert. How would the Saints here possibly pass it?

Beirut knows what they are thinking. "The divine beast Ba-Serpent likes to sleep. If you don't wake it up, you can pass it easily. But if accidents happens and it wakes up, then you are dead."

The faces of the eighty-plus Saints changed as they discuss the problems that might occur if they encounter the Ba-Serpent.

After hearing their discussions, Beirut's laughs calmly. "Don't worry. The path before you is not a path of certain death. First, allow me to explain some basics regarding the Necropolis of the Gods. The Necropolis of the Gods have a total of eighteen floors. The first ten floors definitely do not have divine sparks. From the eleventh floor onwards, there will be definitely the corpse of Deities as well as divine sparks to be found."

The eighty-plus Saints eyes lit up after listening to Beirut, where to found divine sparks and artifacts. Some shows their greed, while some show hesitation.

After providing more information, Beirut shows his impatience. "Enough. Prepare to enter. Human Saints will enter the left entrance, while the magical beast Saints will enter the right entrance. If you survive in the first four floors, you will meet at the fifth floor."

"All of you, go inside now." Beirut laughed calmly.

Nobody hesitated. The human Saints and the magical beast Saints all separated into their own groups.

"Father, mother, uncles, Nadia. Please be careful." Ernst sends his message through his divine sense.

After the humans and magical beast experts entered the Necropolis of the Gods, Catherine finally spoke.

"Lord Beirut?" Catherine looks at Beirut. "If your grandson encounters the Ba-Serpent, what then?"

Beirut laughs. "It's fine. Bebe won't encounter the Ba-Serpent because he took the right tunnel. I did a quick investigation, the Ba-Serpent is in the left tunnel, and its beneath the fifth floor. Thus, I had the magical beast entered the right tunnel."

"Then Ernst parents, uncles and Linley." Cesar said quietly.

Dylin curled his lips up. He was happy hearing Beirut's words.

Beirut said calmly. "I hope their luck is good. They made the decision themselves to enter the Necropolis of the Gods. Let's go. We will come again after ten years."

The five Deities follow Beirut to leave the tunnel and separated after arriving at the Yulan continent.

Ernst said goodbye to his fellow Deities and went to the Dawson Kingdom directly.

Until now, Ernst was suppressing himself to break through to a full God to get a chance to enter the Necropolis of the Gods. Just ten years, he can still wait for that long.
