3 The Threats

Roy stood from the bed, walked towards the window, and opened the curtain. He noticed he had slept till the evening. Silently looking at the moon, his mind was replaying the vivid dream. He stayed in the same position standing with his arms folded for an hour.

The sound of a knock on the door brought him back to reality. Opening the door he saw the housekeeper in front of his door.

"Good evening Sir...I have brought your dinner. After your dinner old master has asked for your presence in his study room. Please be on time, Sir..." the housekeeper spoke politely.

He knew the housekeeper was only doing his job, so Roy ignored him.

After having his dinner, Roy walked toward his grandfather's study room and knocked on the door.

The dook was unlocked so Roy entered the study room. Inside four family members were present- his grandfather, his father, his second uncle, and his big brother (son of Roy's father's first wife). The people inside were discussing the preparation for Roy's marriage.

He only silently stood at the door looking at the people.

His grandfather spoke first, "Roy...why are you standing there, come inside."

He then took a seat far away from others, the nightmares were disturbing till now so he was clasping his fingers and rubbing his thumbs together. It was a habit he did when he was tensed or uncertain of his action.

Seeing that, his second uncle spoke, "Oh!! Roy, are you very excited about your marriage...that you couldn't sleep and came here so fast." He misunderstood his condition.

"Second uncle, you are making my brother shy, look his ears have even turned red. Obviously, he is excited--" his brother added. His brother wasn't trying to tease but was making the situation awkward. Roy's father was silent not even looking toward him.

"If both of you have finished talking nonsense, can I speak to grandfather?" as usual his cold voice.

"Yeah you may proceed.." his brother replied.

He turned towards his grandfather and spoke respectfully, "Grandpa, please cancel this wedding...I don't want to get married."

"Why? Are you in love with someone...tell me?" this grandfather wasn't asking but threatening him.

"Grandpa, I don't want to be tied in a relationship and be committed. First, let me fulfill my oath I made with sister Ria in other ways..."

"What's the other way tell me?...or is there other? You know Roy, this marriage is important to the SMITHs in other aspects too not only for your promise.....you are not a child to throw tantrums. Be more mature. Whatever you feel keep it deep down in your heart and don't let me know..otherwise, that person in your heart may not remain alive...You are not allowed to cancel this marriage" his grandfather imposed his authority.

Standing from his seat he went in front of his grandfather and said, "Please grandpa...you will ruin my life, my beliefs in this way...You had promised to free me from this entanglement after I fulfilled my last promise with sister Ria. But now you haven't given me the liberty but trying to tie me down to the ground....why grandpa..why?" Roy asked sorrowfully looking at his grandfather's eyes.

"I am the head of SMITH and your grandfather too. So, you are obliged to obey my every decision and follow my every order by not questioning..." Roy's grandfather reprimanded.

Roy didn't back off, "If I don't do as you wish then....what will you do--?" He slowly walked back to his seat.

"Stop Roy, we are a family...we are supposed to be for each other...Grandpa never takes the wrong decision..." His big brother tried to stop him.

Roy in his seat, "Oh!! really brother Ronan...you will always stand up for him because he never goes against your wishes. You are always right and filial in his eyes...but for me, I worked so hard for the SMITH Corps. At last, I remain just an employee, what is great about being appointed as a CEO? Are my work, efforts, and sacrifices ever appreciated? Even a worker in this house could be treated better than me..." he spoke looking towards each and every one.

"Roy, don't go against father..." finally his father spoke.

"OH!! You remember my name...I thought you forgot my existence too." Roy spoke sarcastically.

"I am giving you a warning Roy...you are trying to rebel huh? Serene is going to be my granddaughter-in-law and that's final. Don't try to ruin it away...or I will throw your mother out of the house and remember you may never get custody of your niece if you don't marry a Lee. Most important the person close to your heart may not remain alive...I will torture her and make her life a living hell--"

Roy abruptly stood up, "Don't try anything funny...or don't let me forget this is my family. Whoever even touches her hair or tries to harm her will no longer be in this world....whether it is you guys or any other...." the coldness in his voice has increased ten times. Without looking back at them, he walked out.

'This will be the last time I spoke politely to these people...If I find these people involved in Ria's case then...they think this is rebelling. Just wait, when the right time approaches, I will show what actually is rebelling.' Roy promised to himself. He took the position of CEO and stayed in this house only because he had promised the dead ones.

It had already been a week after that incident in Yula Mountain. Roy first thought that Abha would return in some days and demanded to give Jack back or at least to know the answer to her queries but she didn't. Does she have enmity with me? He had his reasons to kill that person. If something unexpected didn't happen, soon it will be his wedding as his family wants.

He was frustrated for no return from Abha and his nightmare made it worst. It was difficult for him to accept Abha ignoring him even if it was a dream. Unknowingly he had fallen for her more than he could ever imagine. If one day Abha will forget him or act purely as a stranger he himself didn't know what he will do? He knew he can't bind Abha but to let her go was more difficult for him than to breathe.

The memories of their last time meeting on Yula mountain, their past, and even the nightmare were vivid in his mind and replaying making him lose his mind. Due to this, his eyes were turning red and blood flowed from his palm because of clenching hard. If a chance was given then he himself wasn't sure whether he would kill Abha's brother or not. But what happened had happened.

He had assigned his every loyal workforce but still had no news of Abha. He was feeling guilty for leaving her alone that night. So later he had sent his right-hand man Nil to inquire about her situation. He hoped she would be fine.

He was very annoyed with his family. So, he went to his office at late night and called out an emergency meeting to his loyal subordinates.

None was happy with their boss waking them up at midnight but they couldn't complain about him, so arrived at the time. Five people gathered in his office room. One was his assistant Shawn and the others wasn't part of Smith corporation but were team member of Roy's own forces.

Note: <Background of Smith family->The Smiths are the richest and more powerful family of Osmin. Old Smith has three sons(only two sons were known to the public) and a daughter. The daughter will be a part of later chapters.
