Chapter 2 - Where am I

Tian Shen who had taken close his eyes accepting his death but the next moment he close his eyes a foreign sensation caress his body and found himself feeling as though hovering in viscous ocean. He wondered if it was the afterlife where the soul can rest and tried to open his eyes yet did not do what intended. It took him a while to realize that his shape and sense was different than before.

It made him recall that his body had been left in earth and he was nothing more than a soul where his shape wasn't defined but knew it was similar to his body. Tian Shen couldn't do anything and decided to recollect his memory and life that had ended.

He had long left a letter for his family to read if his life ever end. It contains Tian Shen final will where his company money will equally given to the poor and people in need while most of it will be for his family and future of his sibling.

Tian Shen made sure everything was prepared in ensuring that his family won't suffer anymore. If he still had his body then he would be smiling bitterly.

'I wonder how is mother doing? I hope my death won't cause her too much stress and be bad for her health.'

Even in death, Tian Shen wasn't worried about himself but his family and how his own death affect them. He doesn't his own mother to follow him the afterlife that would be far too heart breaking.

If someone else was in his situation then they would either be panicking or be blissed thinking they would get isekaid. Tian Shen chuckled at the thought about another world but accepted that it was real seeing himself in the situation itself.

'How long had I've been here? Perhaps an hour? Or maybe a day? It doesn't matter I'm already dead.'

Tian Shen sense of time was in disarray as his vision was only filled nothing but empty void of darkness. It was strange sensation that difficult to described in mere worlds but if Tian Shen tried then he would described it as being both asleep and awake at the same time.

Nevertheless, he was happy that his suffering had finally ended and his parent would finally able to live normally without worry. Tian Shen hunger was finally appeased through death and had gain freedom.

An unknown amount of time hovering in the vast sea of nothingness, Tian Shen who had only seen but infinite darkness saw small light akin to ember flame quickly went to get closer and felt slightly overwhelmed by tiny light.

'What is this thing? I have many question yet for now I'll touching it since I'm already dead theirs nothing else to do.'

The wisp of light that shimmer in mesmerizing manner caught Tian Shen attention. He didn't felt any danger considering his dead and has nothing to lose get close on the wisp of light. The light gave off a powerful aura that cause Tian Shen to shudder and became increasingly fascinated by it.

He reach out his 'hands' to grabbed despite it seemingly cause him immense pain did not wavered and remain stead fast till he was able to feel it more intensely. Tian Shen then suddenly felt burning sensation through his body as the wisp of light seemingly devoured by his own body.

Tian Shen was bewildered at the moment but remain calmed quickly tried to do something to ease his pain and acted instinctual spreading the energy throughout his 'body' that continually being absorbed by his body.

He could feel that his sense was returning and felt alive for an unknown reason. Tian Shen did not know how long he felt his 'body' was being destroyed and recreated. An endless amount of time passes and Tian Shen the wisp of energy was finally gone giving a breather.

'What was that? I thought I was going to die…oh wait I'm already dead but still what's going on!?'

Tian Shen finally wondered as many foreign things was happening and wanted to know the origin of it. However, he wasn't given enough time to think when another light shone bright blinding him and the next thing he saw was foreign ceiling. Tian Shen turned his head found himself next to a rows of beds beside dozens of children.

'Where is this place?'

He sat up to better looked at the people around him and found them to be children wearing an old Chinese clothes. Tian Shen was close enough in the window and looked at out at the azure sky seeing the old Chinese traditional architecture and building cause him to be dumbfounded.

'This has to be a dream? Am I really in cultivation universe? No, maybe I was sent back in time? Damn there's too many que-Gaah!!!'

Out of nowhere, Images and memories that doesn't belong to him resurface within his mind. Tian Shen took a while to calmed the agonizing headache cause by the fusion of his memory and the person he was occupying.

It cause him a massive shocked to learn he was truly in the world of cultivation and had occupied the body of a young orphan who had a same name as his own. Tian Shen wondered if he was reincarnated or transmigrated but whatever it is he was still him. He reorganize his thoughts and was able to learned that his current location was called the Azure Dragon city known to be the last remaining humanity after the Era of Immortals.

The legend foretold about a immensely powerful creature brought upon a calamity that cause humanity to fall in dire state where danger lurks everywhere outside the city walls. The mythical immortal experts had united and fought to the bitter end but the result was clear as day.

This city who was more akin to small country and had population of around ten millions citizen where governed by the Azure Dragon clan named the Long clan and the lord being Lord Shen Ying. Theirs also had five major namely the Xia, Zhou, Chen, Feng and Nie clan who governed a large part of Azure Dragon city and helped defend the city from demonic creature from the outside.

Tian Shen recalled a similar story in the world he reside but theirs clearly different than that fictions. Despite the body being an orphan who clearly unfit to cultivate knew about how the cultivation ranking are called. The world he was in began from tempering their body to utmost limits breaking through a mortal capabilities then came absorbing the qi essence in the surrounding to condense into their Dantian.

Until they breakthrough and reach [Warrior] stage followed by [King] stage then the supreme expert in their city was [Emperor] stage where only the clan head of Long family able to achieve it. He was the only line of defense if any danger ever struck the city.

'This is troubling…..I understand that this kinds of world is extremely dangerous but this is…'

Tian Shen inwardly curse seeing that if the city lord ever die then this city would likely grumble and fall. He had read many stories enough to know their will be someone who will betray and conspire conspiracy to gain more power and fame. It would be unfortunate If many innocent people to die and quickly planned to helped them.

'Still I'm unsure if I could cultivate….but theirs nothing wrong in trying. However, for now since I have new body and felt more alive than my previous is best to move around.'

Tian Shen was surprise that he had another opportunity in life and won't try to waste it quickly stood up feeling the wooden floor under his barefoot. It had been years since he had been able to touch the ground after being bedridden due to his illness.

He unconsciously cried seeing himself standing and felt grateful that another possibility open up for him. Tian Shen look around and saw a mirror close by, quickly move to get closer and surprise to himself in the mirror.

The body he was occupying almost exact copy even the personality base from memory being kind and humble always friendly to the orphan children. He was known to be the big brother of the orphan since his the only one who hadn't been adopted.

Tian Shen appearance was young boy around fifteen with a round eyes and face that would have been his looks if he didn't have his illness. The only difference was the white hair messy spiky hair with low ponytail wearing commoners Chinese clothes. He looks above average but knew that in cultivation world that above average is trash.

'Mother, father, my younger sibling I will try my best to live my life and if I am able to then I shall return to you.'

He intently gaze on his image that gave off an overbearing aura that seem to defy the heaven and shake the world. Tian Shen shall fight the fate and defy the heavens.
