Magic Theory Class

Aiden had much to learn, fortunately, he didn't let the negative emotions cloud his judgment, he closed his eyes and took a deep breath to calm down.

'This is just the start, I show you who's the best fit for you. I'll make you only look at me.'

Aiden vowed inside his heart.

''Okay, that's settled then.''

''Hmm!" Lilith nodded and her expression had somehow mellowed which shocked many but Aiden who had closed his eyes didn't witness this.

Noah was shocked inwardly but didn't let it show on his face as he passed the door, he had no idea Aiden was seeing him as a love rival.

Arthur signed regrettably, he wanted to see more drama, wondering if Aiden would have stepped forward to claim what he yearned for.

''School's life is indeed fun and this is just the beginning. Hehehe! I'm looking forward to the future.''

He sounds so creepy at the end like an old man, fortunately, nobody heard him.

The classroom regained its calm and soon a middle-aged man with a Blue lens silver monocle walked in. The teacher for the magic theory class had arrived.

Ginger, shoulder-length hair is pulled back to reveal a full, cheerful face. Big, round green eyes, set appealingly within their sockets, he wore a Blue silver monocle over his right eye.

Several moles are spread alluringly on his neck and leave an aching memory of his fortunate adventures.

"My name is Demas Lambright, I will be teaching the overall process of the development of magic, I will talk about the magic system and magic.."

"If it's the overall process, does that mean you will teach us everything about the magic system and magic casting?"

Someone raised his hand and said so. He was a boy student with a somewhat rude impression.

Demas immediately issued a warning to him.

"Ask questions only when I say so."

"…Yes, sir."

"It's the first time, so I'll let it pass. However, if there is a person who cuts off the flow of my class again, I will give you a penalty point. The same is true for explicitly challenging the authority of a professor."

Some students were shocked to hear a penalty point that they had never heard before.

"However, a student who has done their task well will be given a merit point. The higher the merit points a student has, the better the benefits they will have, so do your best."

Well, it was a well-known fact that first or second years, who are in the middle of their burning youth, don't care about penalty points, as they are still far from graduation.

However, there was a big difference between being warned by the professor and not being warned at all.

"To answer the question that was just asked, it's a 'yes'. I will teach you, one by one, everything that needs to be known.''

Arthur and the others nodded. There were about seventeen students currently in the classroom.

So Demas began his lecture after doing a roll call with the students introducing themselves.

"We're starting the class."

''Who can tell how many branches of magic exist in our Magic system?" Demas suddenly raised this question.

Most of the students didn't know so they did not raise their hands.

Demas calmly waited until someone unexpectedly raised her hand. It was Lilith Evangelion.

''Yes, Miss Lilith.'' Demas calmly responded.

Lilith stood and explained.

''I believe there exist 7 branches in our Magic system namely: Nature-based Magic, Divination Magic, Conjuring Magic, Psychic Magic, Life and Death Magic, Technology and Magic, and Uncommon Magic.''

Lilith didn't stop there, she went further, adding.

''Nature-based magic: water, earth, fire, air, and everything in between.

Divination magic: see beyond sight and peer through time and space.

Conjuring magic: moving objects through space over any distance.

Psychic magic: master the world of the mind (and bring new meaning to picking someone's brain).

Life and death magic: tap into the very forces of life, death, and undeath with this surprisingly versatile collection.

Magitech systems: the blurring lines of sorcery and science give magic a next-gen, high-tech flair.

Uncommon Magic I don't know much about this branch of the Magic system. That's all I know.''

Lilith immediately sank back into her seat. Ignoring all of the stares she was receiving.

Clap! Clap!

Demas clapped his hands twice and wore a thin smile.

''Bravo, that's how students should be. Plus 5 Merit points to you Miss Lilith. You can convert them into credits if you want or keep accumulating to ask for private guidance.''

Lilith nodded and checked her student pass, her account was accredited with 5 Merit points. The others threw envious looks into her direction but Lilith was unbothered.

Everyone has something they like and Lilith wasn't an exception, Magic is something she likes, she spent hours and hours reading magic's related books, so it was normal for her to stand up when it was about magic.

'Damn!'

Arthur cursed under his breath, although he didn't know as much as Lilith he could have raised his hand and shared what he knew, maybe he would have gotten one or two merit points as well.

While not every teacher adopts the award system, it does exist and they even talk about it in the school guidebook.

Merit points can be converted into credits, one merit point is equal to a whooping hundred credit points. You can imagine why Arthur regretted his decision not to raise his hand faster. These 5 Merit points converted into Credits are equal to 500 credits.

Merit points can be used to ask for favors from your professor. For example, asking for special guidance from your teacher about a specific subject you have trouble understanding.

There's even a rumor stating with enough Merit points you can summon your teacher during a time of crisis to help you, whether this was true or false Arthur would have to find out. He secretly vowed to increase his magic-related knowledge to earn merit points during Mr Demas' class. He is known as someone to heavily relies on the award system. If you perform well you will receive a Merit Point if not a Penalty Point.
