Jealousy, Envy

Elena gave a few other examples before moving forward with a question.

''Are many among you have reached level 12?"

Noah, Arthur, Aiden, Lilith, and the Dual Mage.

''I see, that's good. The rest should be at Level 11 I'm right?" Elena asked the rest of the class and they nodded. She was pleased with her student's progress.

'I'm blessed with exceptional students this year. I'm looking forward to how they will grow.'

Elena looked at her students one by one making them feel pressured. This lasted for a few seconds before she smiled.

''Now let's talk about Practical Combat Class."

Noah's eyes gleamed, he couldn't wait for them to start. The prospect of earning gold coins from the system was too appalling to not be excited.

Elena noticed Noah's unusual excitement and attributed it to the feeling of wanting to test his newfound strength. She shook her head and chuckled.

''You know there are different types of Players, Combat type, and Support type. And because we have those two types we will divide the class for a better practical combat class.'' Elena announced and those with the support type heaved a sigh of relief.

Previously they had been worried about how to face the combat-type players with their support's type skills.

''Combat's type players are divided into Close range, Short range, and Long range. Both have their shortcomings and we will not talk about this. Maybe later, I'll end my lecture here today and leave your next teacher to come. It's the magic theory class, those who didn't have magic-related class can leave and go prepare for tomorrow's Practical combat class.''

Elena stopped and observed her students before flashing them a smile.

''I'll see you tomorrow. Stay healthy until then.'' She immediately departed shortly after.

Noah stood up and was about to leave when Lilith stood before him again.

''Sigh! What do you want?" He helplessly asked.

Aiden bit his thumb, frustrated that Lilith always looked for Noah not him. He wondered what Noah had that he didn't. Well, he is a bit handsome and his background is not bad but that's all. Aiden believed in himself to be more handsome, he had an extremely powerful background, and he was more complete so he believed he was the one to deserve Lilith's attention.

While Aiden was fuming with jealousy, all eyes were on Noah and Lilith.

Arthur was chuckling arms akimbo. He was about to watch a drama only popcorn was missing to make it perfect.

Noah glared at Arthur making the latter's smile widen.

He could only sigh and look at the culprit before him.

''So what do you want?" He asked again and Lilith stared at him as if she couldn't understand.

''Why are you leaving? I thought your class was magic-related.'' Lilith finally expressed her doubt.

Noah finally understood what this was about.

''I'm not sure. I'll know in the future for now I have something else to do.'' Noah shrugged his shoulders.

''What is more important than attending the magic lecture ?" Lilith was interested in the reason why Noah wanted to skip class apart from not knowing whether his class was magic-related or not.

''It is personal,'' Noah responded before bypassing Lilith. Those wishing for more sighed upon seeing this but just as Noah was about to pass the door he stopped, no he was forced to a stop by Lilith's following sentence.

''I would like to talk to you privately somewhere calm, is that possible?"

Noah's instinctual response was to refuse but he managed to control himself and responded positively.

''Sure, why not, I wanted to talk to you too. We will schedule a date.''

''Wow!"

''Did you hear that?''

''She just invited him, right?''

''It is a date. Wow! Lucky him.''

Whispers started flying here and there, Arthur smiled satisfied with this. Two other people showed satisfaction, it was Francesca and Ilya. They even clapped their hands together as they cheered for their friend who made the first step.

However, while most reactions toward the ongoing drama were positive ones, there was someone else whose reaction wasn't a positive one. Naturally, it was Aiden whose face had turned livid at the moment, he clenched his fists so tightly that some of his nails bore into his skin drawing a small blood but he didn't care.

'Damn you, Noah, if only you weren't there. Damn you. I don't like you.' He kept mumbling this like a mantra. Aiden's jealousy was apparent to all to see.

Jealousy eats you up from within until you are a zombie corpse, feasting on the hive mind.

Jealousy is often an expression of insecurity and thus its fixing requires internal reflection and addressing matters of self-esteem.

Aiden was not only jealous, he was envious of Noah's position within Lilith's heart.

Envy is a vice. After all, it poisons the soul, because it can never come from a loving heart. And this is what the philosophy of love teaches, that when love is our supreme first principle, all must stem from it, flow from it, and be connected to it.

Aiden did know, no it was more accurate to say he didn't care, only what he wanted mattered. He forgot to take into consideration the time these two spent together to build up their current relationship.

If you envy one who reaches a mountain top and yet does not envy the blood and sweat it took to climb there, perhaps you can transform it into a loving form of respect. They earned it, right?

Aiden had much to learn, fortunately, he didn't let the negative emotions cloud his judgment, he closed his eyes and took a deep breath to calm down.

'This is just the start, I show you who's the best fit for you. I'll make you only look at me.'

Aiden vowed inside his heart.

''Okay, that's settled then.''

''Hmm!" Lilith nodded and her expression had somehow mellowed which shocked many but Aiden who had closed his eyes didn't witness this.

Noah was shocked inwardly but didn't let it show on his face as he passed the door, he had no idea Aiden was seeing him as a love rival.

Arthur signed regrettably, he wanted to see more drama, wondering if Aiden would have stepped forward to claim what he yearned for.

''School's life is indeed fun and this is just the beginning. Hehehe! I'm looking forward to the future.''

He sounds so creepy at the end like an old man, fortunately, nobody heard him.

The classroom regained its calm and soon a middle-aged man with a Blue lens silver monocle walked in. The teacher for the magic theory class had arrived.
