Chapter 242: Battle of Lights 2

Space swiftly compressed around Daisuke and he reached Mira in a flash. His fist collided with the diamond that covered her and destabilized the compressed space in his energy zone and in her energy zone.

Still it was pointless. His punch was too light to get past the diamonds and he was too fast to be caught by the stings of diamonds that tried to capture him again. He opened his palm and a long sword of golden light formed within it.

Mira looked within herself to find a way to reach Daisuke. Seeing this, Daisuke paused, waiting for her to finish. The instincts of a Mythical grade were nothing to scoff at. Mira instantly accessed the instincts buried in the genetic code she had copied.

She had accessed the large amount of capabilities but she needed a path, a guide, a filter. Something that would bring out the best speed she could possibly get. Her mind wondered until she found one.

Mira's legs bulked up with muscle and her feet and toes widened. The signals that came from her bunny ears suddenly became clearer, their purpose became certain. The ears could hear intent so precisely that they could hear them from the future.

Intent was the fastest information Mira could react to. It required no decoding and could directly link with her instinct. The ears and leg modifications came from the Rank 23 Flash Hare. It was an extremely fast monster but Mira could beat it because of its lack of wisdom and generally predictable combat style.

Mira's body became more streamlined as the lightning emitted from her body stabilized and formed jagged paths. White flames flowed in the jagged paths from her head to her feet and palms. Mira closed her eyes as the diamond layer on her feet and legs thickened. She created a force platform and prepared for a lunge.

The white flames seemed to charge her diamonds as she focused on the path that had brought out this new form.

"BOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

A loud blast resounded as Mira synchronized her lunge with her explosion. A trail of energy and cracked space followed her as she arrived before Daisuke with her new form, Lepus.

Daisuke again dodged the attack, although with more seriousness. Mira sharply curved to follow him and he dodged her again and again. The chase went on and Daisuke realized that Mira was constantly accelerating. Her speed seemed to keep growing as long as nothing interfered with it, her turns seemed to do nothing to dull her momentum.

Daisuke placed the sword in his hand behind him as he prepared to counter before Mira could reach his speed. He executed Single Sword style: Crescent Moon. He disappeared in a flash and reappeared slashing down at released a flying light slash that split the ground below.

Mira the attack had just barely missed her. Again she had somehow curved away from the strike and Daisuke finally understood why she could curve so sharply without any loss in momentum. She created a source of gravity with her force field that made her trajectory curve any time he dodged or in this case, attacked.

What surprised Daisuke was that she could dodge him even though she wasn't as fast as him yet. The reason for this was that Mira could hear his intent from the future and also because her force field slowed him down when he got in range.

Another explosion occurred as Mira front flipped and brought her leg down on Daisuke. He tried to dash way but the leg seemed to have a gravitational field that pulled him into the kick. Daisuke switched gears and entered a defensive form.

Golden light condensed on him as he showed the might of the Power stat. Theoretically light could be condensed until it became as heavy as metal since, although small, it had weight. Daisuke actualized this theory as he released the light stored in by his power stat and formed armor around himself.

"WHAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Daisuke found himself 10 meters deep into the ground by the time he came to. He was still falling due to the force of the other attack when he looked up. Mira was already positioning herself to lunge toward him again. Immense pain filled him as the effects of the attack on his soul took place.

Mira had hit the part of his shoulder that was closest to his neck. The light armor there had disintegrated and Daisuke could sense the cracked bones and bruised tissues. But even with all the pain, his focus did not waver due to the effect of the his soul ability. 12 different swords of light appeared, forming a circle before him. '12 Sword Style: Noon'.

Mira approached with a descending kick and Daisuke ascended with the circle of swords. They both clashed midair causing a catastrophic burst of light and force that melted and evaporated the ground while creating a vacuum.

The result of the clash left Mira covered in wounds from 4 sword thrusts that had pierced through her diamond and Daisuke remained unscathed, his armor held up.

The existential pain of a soul attack filled Mira's being but it made her diamonds shine with more intensity as she descended past the ascending Daisuke.

Daisuke's momentum suddenly disappeared and he was drawn toward Mira again. He felt it more clearly this time; she wasn't just pulling his body, she was pulling his soul too, his entire being. Daisuke turned to meet Mira with another attack but she had completely changed.

Her head had turned into a fox's head and her feet had also gained the anatomy of a fox's feet. She had grown 4 bushy fox tails that shined with the same blinding light her diamonds gave off. Her tails were twice as wide as her shoulder, they were covered in a smooth and dense layer of diamond and fur covered her entire body.

The white flames of drive flowed in jagged patterns on her feet but it moved in straight patterns on her 4 tails with a circle close to the end.

This was Mira's anti-speedster form: Vulpecula.
