Chapter 240: Meeting

Mira's mind was blown at the realization, she asked "How can I go from here" she gestured toward herself, "to there", she gestured toward Feng. Feng said "Good question. With the realization of the potential of your race abilities so many options are open for you. This is another problem I wanted to correct with many people who come for the competition.

"Evolving and the high stats we have give us so many abilities compared to our previous evolutions that we don't know how to properly use them. It's like a baby who just learned how to walk but suddenly gained a whole bunch of legs and other appendages, it's only expected that the baby will inefficiently use them.

"What I'm trying to say is that we Mythical and Celestials have too many parlor tricks that we are capable of now. Because of them we can't properly fight. At every turn we are wondering whether to use them or not."

Feng lifted his index finger and white flames covered it. He said "Drive is one of the things many people use incorrectly. The way you used it earlier was a parlor trick way of using it. It's only expected since you don't know what is considered dangerous with the two successive evolutions you've had. What used to be dangerous before is nothing more than a spa treatment and what used to be extremely hard to perform is now a parlor trick.

"The proper way to use Drive is to gather as much as you can over time in a single move before executing it. But most people just use it consistently like energy".

Mira said "Well it doesn't seem wrong to use it that way; you can boost the power of your regular attacks. The strategy doesn't work on you because you're invulnerable… at least you seem invulnerable".

Feng said "I kinda get why people would think like that, boosting the power of your regular attacks. But that style only works when we were human, people who couldn't increase the power of their attacks by thousands of times. But we are no longer humans, hitting a person with 1000 normal attacks isn't as effective as hitting the person with a single attack with the power of 1000 normal attacks".

Mira nodded and said "Makes sense but you can miss, the person you might be fighting might be able to counter the powerful attack well". Feng said "Indeed, it's not good to put all your eggs in one basket, or in this case all your power in one form of attack. But spreading them out so much is also not a good idea.

"Hence, the middle path and the finite wheel that comes from it. Your powers should be focused in a certain amount of forms used for different purposes or with different inspirations. This way you can put a lot of power in all the various forms without being a one trick pony".

Mira said "I already had that idea but I didn't really know how to bring them to reality". Feng said "And you didn't devote time to studying how to do that because…?"

Mira said "Because I didn't think it was so important". Feng said "Now you know it is. What you need to do now is to tap into the instincts of the various monsters, whose genes you have copied and combine them together to form different types of power styles, speed based, strength based, sharp, blunt, hot, cold, slippery, solid, fluid, etc. There are many options for what you can become but it is important to have a finite amount, even if the number will increase later on it is good to have an actual number. Think of it like Luffy's gears, there are those that are more effective than others but they all have a certain focus. Focus, that's the word"

Mira said "Focus indeed" and thought 'I wonder who this Luffy is though'. Mira said "Thank you, I'll work on that". Feng said "That will be all, there is still more though but you will have to work for me or trade with me to get them. Or you could just win them in the competition".

Mira asked "What if I beat you?" Feng laughed and said "I haven't lost yet but if you made me actually spar then I would have removed you from the competition and just traded with you. You would be too strong for the participants at that point"

Mira said "I see". Feng said "I'll show you where Daisuke is now" and sent a psychic message that showed the location where Daisuke currently was. Mira said "Thanks" and flew toward the location after returning her diamonds back to her energy organ.

Feng thought as she flew away 'The good ones are always taken. So sad'. A psychic message came to him saying "You didn't have to down rate Magic types. The path she was going on would have given her power too".

Feng said "Getting a type of power that is unnatural to you is not good in my own books no matter how powerful what you get is". "Says the person who used cultivation drugs after swearing off them" came the reply.

Feng smile wryly and said "The base of the power not the extensions. The foundation of any power should be something a person truly likes or connects to not something that is distant and foreign".

The other person said "Your word changes so easily" and laughed. Feng asked "Yu, have you found anyone interesting?" Yu said "Avatari tried to join the competition… again. For someone who is organizing a world meeting she has a lot of free time. I did see an interesting guy. He was a [Rank 27 Fairy]. For a race with such a simple name he had quite a complex array of magic spells. But as you would expect, he was already taken".

Feng sighed and said "Magicians are so rare. We can only keep trying". Yu said "Aurora wants to invest in the competition". Feng was silent for a while before saying "But we asked her before and she said no!"

Yu said "She's just prideful is all; you don't have to be so harsh on her". Feng said "Of course you would understand her. Mr. Lover Boy". Yu said "I'm just being nice". Feng said "Riiiiiiiight, you're just being nice. I totally believe that. The libido of a dragon can't be underestimated I guess… going after a phoenix. She can invest". Yu said "Thank you".

Mira teleported to the location Feng showed her after flying for a bit. She appeared in a mountainous area with many large caves big enough for aircrafts at the base of the mountains. A Japanese man with golden hair was standing in front of her. Her IP denoted him as a [Rank 24 Luminoclast].

The whites of his eyes were golden and so were his claws. He had a body length lion tail swinging behind him. He wore a cloak made of metal threads woven together with a red dragon drawn circling it. The high collar of the cloak covered his mouth that was filled with sharp pointed golden teeth and half of his nose.

Mira thought 'He's not a demon like Jake or Meixiu yet the meaning of his race name is not clear'. Daisuke said "Are you Mira?" Mira answered "Yes, Jade sent me". Daisuke nodded and said "I'm Daisuke. I met Jade when he came to Japan. Do you know how the competition works?"

Mira said "No". Daisuke said "I guess I'll have to explain that then". Mira thought 'Way to jump right in, no beating around the bush with this one'.
