Chapter 204: Backstab

Arcs of lightning traveled through the body of the Emperor, paralyzing him mid-swing. He could not roar or do anything as his natural regeneration fixed his body.

Frustration filled the mind of the Emperor as he watched his chance slip away looking at the reflection of his face on the diamonds.

"AHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

A literal thunderous shout resounded from above the clouds while he was paralyzed. The Titan knew that Funmi was paying dearly for taking the chance from him. He just had to ride out the paralysis and he would win!

Alas Mira woke up from the trance while he was paralyzed. Unlike before her eyes were glazed like she was still in the trance but the Emperor could sense awareness in those eyes, too much awareness even. No he felt naked before those eyes, it was like he and everything in this universe was just a footnote, a fact, a simple variable before those eyes. There were no feelings, no emotions; they were completely detached from reality but still able to affect it. The Titan would have shivered if he could move.

"AHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

High in the clouds, Funmi shouted as a psychic wave attack landed on her from one of the Lords. She had been fighting the 7 Mythical Grade members, the Lords, of the Glass Empire. This included Salam and Hassan. She had been doing a good job since none of them were nearly as fast as she was. She had been sparing and eye to watch Mira's fight all this time too.

Fighting someone like Funmi presented a unique problem. The question was how to hurt living lightning. Physical attacks were pointless and it was impossible to contain her. The only clear options were psychic attacks and other unconventional forms of attack.

When Mira was in danger Funmi used a thunder bolt that was meant for the 9 meter tall rock covered [Human Variant: Giant (Earth)] protecting the [Semi-Psychic Being: Banshee] to stop the Emperor from killing Mira.

Her actions didn't go without punishment. The Banshee used the opportunity get in an attack and the threads of the [Human Variant: Witch(Marionette)] were coming close to her new white lightning form which she called her White Lightning Spectrum. She quickly distanced herself from the threads that would spell her doom if they touched her. The threads would turn anything they touched, even air into the puppet of the Witch.

This was the first time Funmi was hit with an attack and she knew getting another one would be the end of her. Her mind was on the verge of collapse after just one hit and she wasn't sure if the smiling Banshee had laced the attacks with subtle manipulation properties but her focus was on the Witch that was still chasing her with the threads she controlled.

"HNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!"

A whisper like grunt that was way louder than a whisper should have been, sounded and everyone looked toward the source of the sound. Funmi saw a spear of flames embedded in the heart of the Banshee, she was not smiling anymore. Everyone was shocked and looked toward the source of the attack; it was Hassan the [Ingnitrudine (Purgatory Demon)], who was positioned behind the Banshee to act as a rear guard. He had thrown the spear when the Banshee attacked Funmi; it was clearly a planned betrayal.

Chaos broke out as the Giant swiftly sent a punch toward Hassan and held the burning Banshee in his other hand. This proved to be a bad move since Funmi had put a bunch of BDSM marks on the chest and face of the Giant during her previous attacks. She could now instantly arrive at those places and he was bringing the burning Banshee close to them.

On the other formation that had Salam as the rear guard and a [Vinculumithros (Bondage Demon)] that had many metal jars and chains floating around her, and a [Human Variant: Sage (Force)] that had an invisible force shield around him, acting as the front guards of the Witch.

They were now looking at Salam with suspicion; they knew that he had met with Mira and Funmi along with Hassan and that he and Hassan were close friends. Salam said with a mental message 'He is on his own I didn't know about this!' The Witch said 'Salam, switch with Fatai (The Sage)', she wasn't willing to take her chances and have her back guarded by a possible betrayer.

"AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Another pain filled scream of the Banshee took the attention of the group again and they focused on her location. The fire burning her had gone away but she was charred within the Giant's protective palms; a thunder bolt had hit her. Hassan could be seen keeping his distance while floating beside the extremely bright Funmi. The Banshee could turn immaterial but she needed to focus and be mentally calm to do that hence Funmi was now making sure she was always in pain.

Another barrage of thunder bolts snaked from the Funmi's hands while one of the symbols on the circle behind her shone. The lightning avoided the fingers of the Giant and struck the Banshee again. Funmi had not shown this much control over her white lightning before, they knew something had changed. Funmi had marked the Banshee when she zapped to a part of the Giants chest that had a BDSM mark close to his palms that were holding the Banshee and struck her with lightning from her body and simultaneously marking her.

The Witch said "We have to help her!" and their group flew towards the confused Giant and the Witch formed a sphere of threads around the Banshee but the lightning Funmi had used was NUT, the arcs still in the Banshee's body exploded and she died.

The Giant was incensed; he roared and flew toward Funmi and Hassan while the others followed behind him. His fists and forearm turned to metal and Hassan said to Funmi 'Don't let him hit you; you'll be petrified where he touches you'. Funmi said 'Thanks for the assist'. Mira had sent information on the Lords which she got with her Predator's Prey privilege the privilege only gave information on the race abilities not the skills of the user so she had to go off the benefits of the races to deduce the type of fighters the Lords were.

Funmi quickly asked 'Is Salam coming to our side?' Hassan said 'Most likely'. The Giant was a few meters from them when a barrage of lightning bolts extended from the clouds around them, aiming at each member. The Giant didn't care much and took the lightning without interrupting his charge.

Funmi zapped away leaving him to Hassan who had covered himself with his bright red flames, there was aura there somewhere but the flames couldn't be distinguished from the aura. He flew to meet the Giant and they exchanged attacks; Hassan sent flying flame punches and the Giant punched them turning whatever they were into rocks that joined the layer of rocks on his body. In the meanwhile Funmi was pestering the group behind with bolts of lightning.

Some moments earlier, when the Emperor was staring at Mira with fear in his eyes, Mira was still in a trance. But this time it was different, she had slipped from the trance where she was Abdul to another trance where she was more than herself. Her consciousness was in her diamond, she could feel emotions and thoughts in them.

The tiny voices she always ignored where clear in her ears now and turned into streams of information that told her all about the state of her body, mind, diamonds and surroundings. The concept of them being a part of her was becoming even more of a reality. The streams of information let her know that as she was now, she could do way much more that what she ever did before.
