Era: Dawn of the New Gods

Concise Synopsis: This is a post-apocalyptic story about the origins of various powerful figures that appeared after the apocalypse event. During the apocalypse monsters appeared possessing powers and constitution beyond the limits of human understanding. They ravaged the world and brought down all governments. The first part of the story follows Jade, a terrorist that was ravaging the world before the monsters arrived. ________________________________________ Dramatic Synopsis: The New Gods, the most feared and revered beings on the planet. They are forces capable of absolute destruction and creation. The Council of Branches Hayley, the Living Lie (if that is her real name) Chao Feng, the Prince of Stars Lara, the Mother of Heroes The Great City of Tver Gog, the Ever Losing War The Unkillable Freak Dave, the Flow Demon Avatari, (only the name is known) Satoshi, the Gentle Hurricane As Impactful as they are no one knew their origin, they are called the New Gods so there must be Old Gods. I and my colleagues dedicated our lives to finding their origins only to find out that the beings we fear and adore were once like us, average, mortal and weak... at least most of them were. ________________________________________ *It is a sort of 'reverse RPG' as no one knows anything either skills, abilities or how the system works but they find out on their own or develop their own skills or abilities. *The story has many protagonists and point of views but it paints a beautiful story of survival in a world of endless perils for both the humans and the monsters (some monsters are protagonists). *There is a system but it is very limited (not overpowered) and it treats everyone equally, monster or human. The system is very different from regular systems; no exp, levels and system items (it has similar concepts but they are not the same). *The story is a world building story where overall, the world is the true main character. Chapter 188: Last Day of the WW3 Event

Jade sighed after he finished going through the experiences of the Parasite. It had no soul glyph so it was only useful for the information. He thought 'So what Fernandez saw was just a hoax. The Infant Ocean Master did sense my marking though, that's the only way to explain its perfect timing. And it seems that teleportation can cut the soul tendril of the Infant Ocean Master. This is good to know since I'll be killing it next after I'm done evolving'.

Jade spent the remaining meditation time assimilating the knowledge from the volumes of the manuals of Space Craft, Space Forging and Nuclear Alchemy.

While Jade was evolving time was moving forward and the end of the World War 3: Coronation War was about to come. Jade evolved a week before the end of the Event so he didn't notice the big event that happened 3 days before the end of the event. Every hunter that had checked their Soul Map on that day watched this event. It was the movement of the Rank 30 soul.

The Rank 30 monster resided in China. Because of how powerful it was it could have completely slaughter every life in the country within the year that passed but it couldn't. This was because of the two Rank 29 monsters in China that worked together to counterbalance the power of the Rank 30 monster.

The Rank 30 monster had no spawns proving it was not a Conqueror unlike the two Rank 29 monsters that had many spawns. Their combined effort with the spawns allowed them to hold back the solitary monster. But their efforts began to weaken during the start of the event since the spawns developed personalities and abandoned them.

North-Eastern China, Beijing where the Rank 30 monster resided became too small to contain the Rank 30 monster in. The two Rank 29 monsters backed off since they couldn't properly suppress the monster and since they needed their spawns which had betrayed them to do that.

The Rank 29 monsters eventually retreated from Beijing and North-East China completely to hunt souls and become Kings. North-East China became hell as the Rank 30 monster rampaged in it day and night without rest. By the time Rank 29 monsters had become Authority level 5 Kings and had children they were hesitant to return to suppressing the Rank 30 monster.

First, they didn't want to leave their territory which protected them and their children and allowed them to grow faster if they lived in it. Second, the Rank 30 monster had grown in power and prowess compared to before after turning North-Eastern China into a death zone and acquiring en-code.

The Rank 29 monsters decided to only protect their territory and the areas around it from the Rank 30 monster. They agreed to work together when the time to fight the monster came.

As the destruction of the Rank 30 monster spread across China, many survivors, monster and human, went to the territory of the Rank 29 monsters to go under their protection since the Rank 30 monster was avoiding them. That was only what the hunters could see and deduce from their Soul Map but the situation was way more complicated than it appeared from the map.

A weird scenario happened 3 days before the end of the event. Some monsters had been increasing in Rank obviously and the amount of Rank 29 souls in the world that amounted to just 2 before had increased by one. It was a soul in Whales of the United Kingdom. It was obvious to anyone who knew that this soul was a monster since it became Rank 29 after killing the Rank 28 monster that was one of the two highest Ranked monsters in the whole of UK and in Europe.

The monster flew to China with the other Rank 28 soul in Europe and this was obvious since the two souls moved in a straight line, over the sea towards the country. They went to the location of one of the Rank 29 monsters and stayed there for a few minutes, it was assumed that they were talking. After a while the new Rank 29 monster and the Rank 28 monster it came with flew towards the direction of the Rank 30 monster.

It was obvious to anyone what was happening. The new Rank 29 monster and the Rank 28 monster were fighting the Rank 30 monster; this was obvious from the way they moved around on the Soul Map. The two other Rank 29 monsters stayed in their territory without aiding them.

Two days passed from that time and today was the last day of the Event.

High above the sky a figure floated weightlessly.

The figure was humanoid and it floated over the wasteland that was now eastern China.

The figure became clear as the clouds melted away giving the sun a chance to shine on his figure but he was completely transparent.

If anyone could see in the absence of light they would notice that the figure was humanoid.

If Jade was here he would know the identity of the floating figure.

It was Daisuke.

Daisuke was not alone watching this battle as anyone that had the means to watch undetected was watching the battle. This included the Rank 29 monsters and a few other creatures that knew about the event.

Daisuke could see clearly that the battle had reached its zenith even from his extremely high and cloud obstructed view. The Rank 29 monster aided by the Rank 28 monster and the Rank 30 monster had beaten themselves half to death. Their resources were about to finish and the result was going to be out on the morning of the last day of the Coronation War event.

The Rank 30 monster was a quadruped with longer forelegs than its hind legs. The legs were structured like those of a wolf and they were grey and skinless, ending in large sharp claws. It had a prominently large earless head supported by a thick short neck. It head featured a large mouth filled with countless sharp teeth. It had large all white eyes that were 3 times as big as one of its teeth. It had a short tail and a completely hairless grey body.

Sizzling acidic white spit dropped from its panting mouth and grey blood poured from the burning wounds all over its body. It had a very prominent and deep wound on the side of its neck and one of its forelegs was crushed beyond recognition.

It was the [Rank 30 Taotie] and it was as big as a cruise ship.

"GLELELELELELELELELELELELELELELELELEL!!!!!!"

An unnatural and deep growl escaped its mouth going toward the monster that was as big as itself that had fought it continuously for 2 days. The monster had come with another monster that stood very far away from their battle, beyond the range of the Taotie's senses, but sent precise long range plasma flame attacks every time the Taotie showed an opening.

"RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

The monster that the growl was sent to responded with a loud high pitched roar. The monster was a black scaled lizard with a few white scales that formed patterns on its body. The scales where fine and numerous making them look like tiny beads of metal. It had thick and muscular fore and hind legs, each ending in four sharp pearl white claws, and folded bat like wings that spanned twice its body length above its fore legs draping down its back.

It had a two curved back, long and sharp horns on its head and spikes running down its spine reaching its body length long tail. Its head was resembled that of a Komodo dragon and its mouth was filled with sharp menacing teeth. Its black reptilian pupils focused back on the Taotie after its roar.

Its scales were missing in some parts of its thick abdomen and within the holes in the scales lay deep and bloody wounds. There were multiple deep wounds on its body especially focused on its abdomen and it bled black blood from these wounds that sizzled.

It was the [Rank 29 Destruction Dragon]. It was about to give its last charge… or so it seemed.
