251 Ambush at the Heian strait part 2

Back in the allied army, Maxim walked to Rufus and Doreen.

"We caught some imperial spies. What are we to do with them?" Maxim asked.

Rufus, without hesitation, ordered the spies to be executed. The greyhound knights decapitated the three spies in an instant.

"We must keep our plan and movements in the dark, and we can't take any risks," Rufus explained to Maxim.

"I agree, but sending that idiot and old man to take care of the imperial navy at sea. Doesn't give me much confidence," Maxim opened up.

"Oh, they are not the only ones in charge, and I gave those two some ample reinforcements," Rufus said.

As the imperial navy was ready to keep moving forward as the attack on the two imperial twins had failed, a large stone arrow hit the battleship where they were standing. The stone arrow was so large it capsized the ship.

The imprisoned Raymond was quickly moved to the other vessel, as the unconscious Aethelred was grabbed by a tall grey skin.

"Who are you?!" Wulftrude yelled.

The ones who came to rescue the two kings were Pema and Amala.

"You will soon find out," Amala said, smiling.

Without a second of thought, Amala shot an array of stone arrows at Wulfila, who blocked each one with her flaming axe. As the last one was stopped, it exploded, pushing the princess back.

Wulftrude was running to help his twin but had to concentrate on Pema, who rushed at him. He covered half of his body with his usual carbon. With this, he could grab the prince's flaming sword without getting cut or burnt.

Wulftrude created another sword and aimed at the open spots of Pema's body that were not covered by hard carbon. Pema dodged them and showed a much more refined fighting style than Athelred.

Pema was going for a high kick, but Wulftrude could create more than flaming swords. He made a flaming shield and blocked the kick. He stopped the blow, and an epic fast-paced melee battle started, with the prince and Pema moving incredibly fast, jumping from one floating ship wreckage to another.

Amala kept shooting her stone arrows at the princess. Wulfila had learned, fearing other tricks, if she would block an arrow instead of dodging. She charged at Amala and kept dodging every stone arrow aimed at her. As she dodged the last projectile, she struck with her flaming axe at Amala, cutting off her arm. Wulfila thought she had won, but Amala had learned new tricks using her divinity. The hand dropped onto the floating wreckage but turned to stone, shocking Wulfila. It was a stone copy. The real Amala had turned into a stone arrow and was the one that had been shot earlier and escaped.

Amala, from behind the princess, shot another arrow that Wulfila dodged. As the stone arrow passed her, Amala, right at that moment, revealed again that she was the arrow. At point-blank range, Amala slammed her stone bow at the back of her head of Wulfila, knocking her out.

Wulftrude and Pema kept battling it out. Pema was a master of hand-to-hand combat with armor strong enough to protect from any kind of blade, and Wulftrude was a master swordsman, capable of dodging almost any attack.

"It seems my sword cannot penetrate your armor," Wulftrude said.

He called off his flaming sword and summoned a flaming spear instead.

"I bet this one can stop you, though...." Wulftrude said with a smile.

Pema didn't say anything.

"Wow.... the first guy who fought against me was the talkative one, but now I am the one who can't keep my mouth shut."

Wulftrude jumped in the air and lunged his flaming spear, directed at the shoulder of Pema. Instead of dodging, Pema punched the tip of the spear with his bare fist. He moved all his carbon armor from around his body into his fist, making it more condensed and harder.

The flaming spear evaporated, and Pema grabbed the much smaller prince by his collar. With his other hand, Pema gave a slight knock on to the neck of Wulftrude, knocking him out cold.

"What took you so long, brother?" Amala yelled as she was carrying the unconscious body of Wulfila.

"Sorry, sis. Was trying something new," Pema explained.

"Well, so was I, but I still got it done faster,"

"HELLOOOOOO! YOU KIDS! COME HERE AND FREE ME AT ONCE!" Raymond, still in chains, yelled as he was about to fall into the sea.

The two grey skin siblings looked at each other.

"I really don't want to free him....."Amala said.

"Me neither...."Pema answered.

Then Athelred jumped on the ship and cut the chains holding Raymond.

"Damn those barf-skinned kids! Leaving me here, the king of the Guiscards, in such a sorry state," King Raymond snarled.

"Might be old man, but they still were the ones who defeated the twins. And we did not. Let's face it. The Fairfax kingdom is by far the only equal to the Heian empire," the high king said in a rare humble tone.

Raymond's men came to get their king, who stumbled to another Guiscard ship.

"My king, thanks to the grey skin warriors, the tide of battle shifted. The imperial navy is in full retreat," a jubilant Guiscard soldier said.

Raymond just growled at the soldier, feeling insulted. He was given another sword, which he used as a cane, to walk forward.

The same soldier asked, "What are we to do with the prisoners?"

Raymond stared at a couple of Varangians tied up in chains.

"Throw them overboard...."

Before the Guiscard soldiers could follow the orders, Pema jumped onto the ship, stopping the soldiers from executing the prisoners.

"What in the bloody divinity do you think you are doing? We need to keep our plan and whereabouts a secret. We can't have prisoners?" Raymond yelled.

Amala got on board the ship and explained," Rufus had ordered all the prisoners to be left on deserted islands. There are plenty here, I bet, so we shall do that. You just keep this fog up so we won't be spotted."

"And this is my ship. I will do what I want, and I do not take orders from shit skins," Raymond continued.

"You will...." Amala threatened with Pema's backing.

Raymond then pulled back his order and went into his cabin angrily. He sat down on a table and cut the table in two in a fit of rage.

"Now I am some shit skin lover's lap dog. NO, I AM NOT!" Raymond yelled.

Raymond then took a pen and paper and started to right a message. He then called a soldier to come and take it.

"Where are we to send it to, my king?" the soldier asked.

"Send it to the imperial city of Asciador."
