2 Finally A Quirk!!

A groan escaped my lips as I finally came to be… I slowly opened my eyes and looked around. My head was pounding so hard that I felt my head was going to pop… I looked around and found myself in an unfamiliar room. For a moment I wondered if I was dead, but I quickly shook my head in denial.

I reached out for the bottle on the headrest and that was when I realized that I was lying on top of an old mattress with just a blanket on top of me, protecting my dignity. I was completely naked underneath the blanket, which was kind of weird with how uncomfortable the old mattress was.

I remember feeling extremely hot and passing out… No, that wasn't all. I am pretty sure that I was on fire or my clothes were at least on fire. I decided to reinspect my body… No burns anywhere on my body. I gulped down a lot of water as I was feeling parched and then I finally climbed out of my bed.

"Where the hell am I?" I asked myself as I wrapped the blanket around myself and the blanket was big enough to completely cover my 4 year old body.

I grabbed the door handle and gave it a twist. The door wasn't locked… That's a good sign. I peeked out of the room, only to find myself inside a hall. I walked up to one of the windows and stared outside. A familiar street and a few familiar buildings came into my view.

At least, now I know where I was. I could hear some voices from the other side of the hall…

"...worry about… Is fine" I managed to hear a few snippets as I made my way toward the voices. I was not familiar with this voice, but now that I knew where I was, I wasn't as worried as before. I was still at the orphanage, but now I was inside the building where only the children with Quirks lived.

Now, it might look like discrimination, but in reality, it wasn't… Most of the children with Quirks were already older than 4 and it was smart to keep normal children away from the children with Quirks. It was illegal to use Quirks without a license, but kids were kids and no matter how illegal it was, they were going to play around with their Quirks.

"By the way, about his Quirk?" Another voice asked and this was the voice I knew very well. It was the head matron and from her voice, she sounded quite concerned. Now that I was close to them, I could hear them much more clearly.

"I am not sure, but from what you told me, his Quirk is some kind of transformation Quirk. I would need to take him to the testing facility to give you a solid answer" The unfamiliar voice answered and from the conversation, I realized that the unfamiliar voice must belong to a doctor.

"Then I will bring him to the testing facility the day after tomorrow? Will that be alright?" The head matron asked and now that I knew what happened to me, I decided to leave since I didn't want to get caught eavesdropping. I was sure that the matron was going to tell me what happened after she finished her conversation with the doctor.

I returned to the room where I woke up and sat down on the bed… I drank another mouthful of water and started to wonder what might have happened. The doctor said that I had some kind of transformation Quirk… Did I turn into a Human Torch or something like that?

Even though I was curious about my powers, I decided to stay put… If I was something like the Human Torch then I didn't want to set the room on fire by accident. That would be bad. None of the matrons except for the head matron liked me much and I didn't want to give them another reason to hate me more.

After a few minutes more, I finally heard the door click and the head matron entered the room followed by the doctor… I have seen him before in the orphanage, but I didn't know that he was a doctor.

"How are you feeling, Reo-kun?" The head matron asked me gently with a smile.

"I am fine, just a bit sore" I answered before I inclined my head. I wasn't sure if I was a good actor, so I simply decided to act as my usual self. There was no need to do anything unnecessary. "What happened to me?" I asked as I exchanged glances between the doctor and the matron.

The head matron gave me a look before she turned toward the doctor. "Reo-kun, this is doctor Akunji. He is going to answer your questions" The head matron gestured at the doctor and the man stepped forward.

"Hello, what's your name?" The doctor asked gently as he kneeled in front of me. It was obvious that he was treating me like a child, but I didn't mind.

"Hello, my name is Itsuki Reo. It is nice to meet you, Dr. Akunji" I greeted the man according to the formalities.

"How are you feeling?" The doctor asked.

Again this? I groaned internally… "I feel fine" I answered without any enthusiasm.

"What do you remember before you passed out?" The man asked carefully.

"...I remember feeling uncomfortably hot and then my clothes were on fire, but before I could do anything, I passed out" I answered thoughtfully.

"Well, you see, you manifested a Quirk, young man" The doctor revealed with a bright smile on his face. "However, that wasn't all, you also grew scales all over your body from what I heard. Unfortunately, the scales were already gone by the time I arrived, but I am certain we could learn more about your Quirk in the future" The doctor finished brightly, trying to cheer me up.

"I can't wait!" I answered excitedly. I was always doubtful if I was going to manifest a Quirk or not, but now that I have finally manifested a Quirk. I deserved to feel excited…

(A/N: Can any of you guess his Quirk?)
