49 Chapter 49: Deowolves

The great forest of Kegali was teeming with different monsters, each with their own culture and way of life. Some of the monsters survived on their own and did not join any groups. These monsters relied heavily on their own strength and instincts to survive, trusting no one, not even those who belonged to their species. Many also banded together to increase their survivability and breeding speed. They were hunting together, defending each other, and caring for their offspring to ensure the survival of their species.

A monster species relied on forming groups. The Diviar Wolf Evolution line belonged to this type of monster. They saw every member of their species as an ally, whether or not they belonged to their pack. They, like the infamous Peasant evolution line, were one of the monster species that had no conflict with monsters from their evolution line.

Furthermore, when a large pack and their home were attacked, the Howling Call was heard throughout Kegali, and all nearby tribes of the Diviar evolution line came to help the under-attacked pack. They would annihilate their adversaries together. As a result, they became one of the most successfully thriving species in Kegali's great forest.

Inside one of the dens in the southern part of Kegali's great forest. A massive cave with a twenty-meter-high entrance that gradually lowered throughout its 50-meter length as it descended underground. It was tucked away among the massive trees. This cave housed 30 Diviar evolution line members, including 20 Pup Diviar Wolves. This house had withstood the test of time and given birth to numerous Diviar Wolves, who were now dispersed throughout the forest with their own packs and territories.

All ten adult members had been through generations and had already fought numerous battles, many of which were them assisting other packs against monster attacks. They were so meticulous and well-organized that each adult had their own role, especially when it came to fighting. And one of the reasons for such an accomplishment was their Alpha, who was leading the pack with such distinction.

A majestic gray wolf standing at 2 meters tall. It was looking around with its gray eyes, taking in the scenery of Pup Diviar Wolves playing near their cave. The gentle wind swayed its soft fur as it walked forward, its nose high in the air. This Deowolf Fire Fang was the pack's strongest member and their primary combatant. While fighting, this one was also in charge of commanding the group.

During the day, it could be seen in the same location, looking after its Pups and occasionally playing with them.

Some Pup Diviar Wolves had grown to the point where they could join the hunt. They would be closely trained on how to hunt and any other form of survival as they thrive in the dangerous forest. This method of raising the puppies would benefit future generations of their species.

There were three more Deowolf Fire Fangs inside the cave, but they were at a lower level. They were all level 43 male Deowolf Fire Fangs. Unlike the strongest Deowolf Fire Fang, these Deowolf Fire Fangs were responsible for their alpha's women and children. Male Diviar Wolves were not allowed to mate and have pups in exchange for staying in this powerful pack; only the pack's alpha was permitted to do so. They could do so by taking any of the mature Diviar Wolves and finding a den for them to live in. However, it was about loyalty rather than safety. They made the decision to stay and serve.

Three of the alpha's six mates were sleeping in the cave's deepest part. They were exhausted after a night of hunting throughout the vast forest. Despite the dim lighting, their beautiful, seemingly very soft white fur shone. One of them opened its eyes, revealing orange eyes that resembled a raging flame.

A Diviar Wolf species with both destructive abilities and stunning beauty. This pack's three Deowolf Pyromancers were all female. Standing 1.5 meters tall and covered in white fur that appeared to be always clean and shiny. Together with their alpha, the females created generations of their forest's species. They were responsible for several of the packs scattered throughout the forest. They were one of the pillars of their evolution line due to continuous breeding over the years.

Then, while the alpha male and his three other mates were resting, the alpha's three other mates patrolled the area for any approaching danger.

They were moving quickly, inspecting every inch of their territory. They were equipped with stealth that even the best senses couldn't detect, as well as the ferocity to kill anything in an instant—they could kill before their target could even notice what was coming. Even an entity that could change form could not fool them if they were able to lock on to their target.

They were dubbed the 'Shadow Stalkers' due to their well-known reputation for outstanding hunting abilities.

The living shadows of Kegali's great forest. With bodies covered in pure black fur and red eyes that were the last thing their victims saw if they survived long enough to look. They stood one meter tall and were the perfect size for their job and specialty. They had long white claws and razor-sharp fangs that they used to slay their enemies.

They were undetectable due to their skill, Complete Concealment. Sensors, enhanced vision, and powerful smell were unable to detect them, making them ideal assassins against opponents with superior senses.

One of the Deowolf Shadow Claws came to a halt in the middle of its patrol because it smelled something passing through from the sky. It was a flying entity heading straight for their den. When the Deowolf Shadow Claw realized where the intruder was going, it raised its head and used its racial exclusive skill, Howling Call. This ability was similar to telepathy, except they were communicating through their roars and passing information over a large area. Its roar alarmed everyone in the den, giving them time to prepare in case the unknown entity did indeed come for their den.

All three Deowolf Shadow Fangs dashed back to their den to join the others.

While all of the Pup Diviar Wolves were immediately evacuated inside the cave, the alpha male Deowolf Fire Fang stood bravely. The three Deowolf Pyromancers stood behind the alpha, as did the other three Deowolf Fire Fangs.

Their gaze was drawn to a specific entity that was speeding toward their home and then dived right in front of them. Its landing made a loud noise and created a cloud of dirt smoke around it. When the smoke cleared, it revealed an entity clad in ice armor. It had the body of a Lesser Bildabear but massive wings that allowed it to fly. It had one hand on the ground and the other on the side of its body, pointing up. It was crouching with both legs and stretching its wings upward.

All of the wolves snarled while showing their sharp fangs, creating an intimidating image of a group of monsters that few would dare to fight...

However, the person in front of them was among the select few.

[Ice Armor has 1710 HP.]

[Vanguard has granted you 285 damage reduction.]

Eon raised his head and stared at the monsters in front of him, having found his next prey. It took Eon hours and hours of searching to find a group of monsters powerful enough to grant him a large number of experience points. However, finding such levels of monsters was not easy. After all, they were uncommon. As a result, Eon decided to fight this group despite knowing that their attacks would most likely be a poor match for his armor, which was vulnerable to fire elemental skills.

But that didn't mean the chances of winning were slim; Eon would not have done it if they were.

Whatever battle he faced, advantageous or not, he had only one thing on his mind: the strategy for achieving victory.

Eon raised his hand, revealing his claws, and walked forward to begin the fight.

It was time for another massacre in order to gain power.
