66 Chapter 66

"Mom, we're home! Lin Miaomiao is here," Ye Bai's voice echoed through the house as they stepped inside.

Wu Qian's face lit up with delight, and she hurriedly made her way to the entrance, eager to welcome Lin Miaomiao. "Miaomiao, come here, come here!" she exclaimed, opening her arms wide for an embrace.

Lin Miaomiao reciprocated the hug eagerly. "Hello, Auntie Wu," she greeted warmly, feeling instantly at home in her presence.

Ye Feng, standing nearby, greeted Lin Miaomiao with a warm smile. "Welcome," he said, nodding in acknowledgment.

"Hello, Uncle Ye," Lin Miaomiao replied, returning the smile.

Wu Qian gently ushered Lin Miaomiao towards the dining table, where an array of delicious dishes awaited them, including Lin Miaomiao's favorite, braised pork.

As they settled at the table, Lin Miaomiao and Ye Bai eagerly dug into the food, savoring each flavorful bite. The aroma of the dishes filled the air, enhancing the cozy atmosphere of the dining room.

Lin Miaomiao couldn't help but smile as she enjoyed the delicious meal, her eyes shining with happiness. The warmth of the family's hospitality made her feel cherished and welcomed.

Wu Qian, noticing Lin Miaomiao's enjoyment, ladled more food onto her plate. "How was cram school? Are you tired?" she inquired, her motherly concern evident in her voice.

Lin Miaomiao shook her head, her expression brightening. "I had a great time at cram school, especially with Ye Bai," she replied, a faint blush coloring her cheeks as she glanced at Ye Bai.

Wu Qian beamed at her response. "I'm glad to hear that," she said warmly, rising from her seat to pour some drinks for Lin Miaomiao.

Ye Bai watched fondly as his mother pampered Lin Miaomiao, feeling grateful for her presence in their home. Seeing Lin Miaomiao happy filled him with a sense of contentment, knowing that she was being well taken care of.

...

Inside Ye Bai's room, Lin Miaomiao sat on the soft bed while gently rubbing her stomach. "Auntie Wu's cooking is really delicious, I'm so full," he remarked with contentment.

Ye Bai shot Lin Miaomiao a glance as she reclined on the bed. "You shouldn't lie down immediately after eating, it's not good for you," he gently admonished her.

Swiftly, Lin Miaomiao sat up, watching intently as Ye Bai retrieved the assignments from her bag.

Lin Miaomiao scrunched up her face at the thought of tackling homework. "Ugh, it's so frustrating to have so many assignments during vacation," she grumbled, though she dutifully made her way to the study table.

Ye Bai couldn't help but smile at Miaomiao's determination to study, even if she wasn't particularly thrilled about it.

They began with Math, knowing it was Lin Miaomiao's weakest subject. If they couldn't finish the other subjects, Lin Miaomiao could tackle them on her own at home.

After finishing the Math subject, Ye Bai grabbed a plastic bag full of snacks. Lin Miaomiao's eyes widened when she saw it. Her energy was somewhat depleted from studying, so she was delighted to see so many snacks.

Excitedly, Lin Miaomiao opened two snacks at the same time and began munching on them.

As they ate, Lin Miaomiao adjusted her chair to lean against Ye Bai's arm, seeking comfort and companionship.

The room was enveloped in a comfortable silence, punctuated only by the rustle of Lin Miaomiao's hands as she grabbed snacks.

"Ye Bai, how is your life in 'that' world?" Lin Miaomiao asked about 'Bluestar'. She was curious about what Ye Bai's world looked like.

Ye Bai reflected for a moment before responding, "Life there is quite similar to here, just a bit more advanced. In my world, it's already 2020." He replied, meeting her curious gaze.

Listening intently, Lin Miaomiao continued, "What's it like for you there? I'm curious to learn more about your life in that world."

Ye Bai recounted his experiences growing up in Bluestar and his journey as an acting student. Lin Miaomiao was fascinated by the insights into his former life and how he came to be in this world.

As Ye Bai shared more about his past, Lin Miaomiao's admiration for him grew. "You're amazing, being an actor in Bluestar," she exclaimed, impressed by his accomplishments.

Ye Bai humbly shook his head. "I don't think I can call myself an actor yet. I haven't graduated from acting school, and I've only been in one show, mostly as an extra," he explained.

Curious, Lin Miaomiao asked if Ye Bai knew the actress who portrayed her in that world.

Ye Bai nodded, a fond smile gracing his lips. "Yes, she's also my childhood friend, just like you," he revealed, playfully pinching her nose.

Lin Miaomiao beamed at the revelation. "Then when you said you saved your girlfriend, you saved me too?" she asked, her heart fluttering at the thought of their parallel lives.

Ye Bai met her gaze tenderly. "Yes, I saved you as well," then he shook his head, "but you weren't my girlfriend in that world," he admitted.

Lin Miaomiao's smile faltered slightly at this revelation. She had assumed they were also a couple in that world. "T-then who is your girlfriend?" she asked reluctantly.

"She's also an actress, the female lead of the first show I filmed," Ye Bai revealed truthfully.

Lin Miaomiao fell silent, processing this new information. She wanted to know if she still loved his girlfriend, but she was afraid to confront the truth.

As Lin Miaomiao looked up at Ye Bai, he suddenly leaned in and captured her lips in a passionate kiss. As their lips melded together, a rush of warmth spread through her body. Just like the last time she can't explain why his kiss is so good. Her heart was hammering hard enough to feel that it could burst out of her chest at any moment.

When they finally parted, breathless and dazed, Lin Miaomiao heard Ye Bai's heartfelt confession.

"You are the only woman I have loved, love, and will love in this world, Lin Miaomiao," Ye Bai declared, his words resonating deeply within her.

Miaomiao nodded at Ye Bai, unsure of what was happening to her. She had always been assertive, but in the presence of Ye Bai's loving gaze, she couldn't help but feel a sense of vulnerability.

With these thoughts in mind, Lin Miaomiao stood up and approached Ye Bai, who was sitting. Determination gleamed in her eyes as she gently cupped his cheeks and boldly pressed her lips against his in a passionate kiss.

As they parted, Lin Miaomiao noticed the surprise and slight blush on Ye Bai's face. She smiled, feeling empowered by her boldness. 'Ha! I made you blush' she thought.

Ye Bai, taken aback by Lin Miaomiao's sudden kiss, looked at her in confusion. "What was that?" he asked, trying to make sense of the situation.

Lin Miaomiao casually grabbed a snack from the table and walked around the room like a gangster with a mischievous grin. "Oh, nothing. I just felt like it," she replied playfully, pretending to be a bit of a rascal as she winked at Ye Bai before popping the snack into her mouth.

Unable to contain his laughter, Ye Bai chuckled loudly, his heart warmed by Miaomiao's playful antics. Lin Miaomiao suddenly furrowed her eyebrows, her playful demeanor turning slightly serious. "Why are you laughing? Are you laughing at me?" she asked, feigning offense as she lightly tapped him with her pink fist.

Ye Bai clasped Lin Miaomiao's hands firmly, his grip steady as he prevented her from throwing a punch. Gently, he turned her around and guided her into his lap, wrapping his arms around her in a protective gesture.

Feeling the tension ease from her muscles, Lin Miaomiao nestled into his embrace, seeking comfort in the warmth of his cuddle.

Amidst the steady thud of their heartbeats, Lin Miaomiao spoke up, her voice tinged with curiosity. "What happens when the two-year limit in this world runs out?" she asked.

Ye Bai held her close, his arms providing a protective cocoon around her. "I ain't sure myself," he admitted, his tone soft yet serious. "Maybe I'll die, or maybe I'll wake up and find myself back in my old world," he speculated.

Pressing her face against his chest, Lin Miaomiao poured out her feelings. "I want you to stay with me forever, but if that ain't possible, I hope you'll return to your own world safely. I don't want you to die," she confessed, holding onto him tightly.

...

The vacation passed quickly, but many memories were made throughout the whole month of cram school.

Today marks the final day of cram class, and Lin Miaomiao found herself surrounded by her classmates.

"Lin Miaomiao, can you draw a picture of me?" another student asked. Hearing this, Jiang Tianhao, ever the organizer, intervened smoothly, "Hold your horses, get in line. I'll assign you a number."

Lin Miaomiao, absorbed in her artwork, diligently sketched away, her focus unwavering despite the chatter around her. This had been her focus in the past few days. Ye Bai had also bought her some art materials, which further fueled her enthusiasm for drawing.

"Here's your number. Wait your turn, and Lin Miaomiao will work her magic," Jiang Tianhao announced, distributing numbered slips to eager classmates.

Qian Sanyi glanced at the students, wanting to be drawn by Lin Miaomiao as well, but feeling too shy to ask.

Observing Qian Sanyi's internal struggle, Jiang Tianhao swiftly jotted down a number and passed it to him with a reassuring smile. "Sanyi, here you go. Don't miss out on this chance," he encouraged, nudging him gently forward.

Qian Sanyi was surprised and initially wanted to refuse. "Take it, everyone else has already been drawn by Lin Miaomiao, you're the only one left," Jiang Tianhao insisted.

Qian Sanyi looked at the number he was holding and smiled.

...

After leaving cram school, Qian Sanyi began checking his bike. Suddenly, he overheard his classmates expressing their desire to borrow Lin Miaomiao's notebook, which contained caricatures of their classmates.

Reluctantly, Lin Miaomiao agreed, unsure of how to refuse their request.

Once their classmates had left, Lin Miaomiao passed by Qian Sanyi.

"Miaomiao, your caricatures are so good, you could open an official account," Qian Sanyi expressed his admiration.

"Huh?" She couldn't believe what Qian Sanyi had just said.

"Your cerebral capacity isn't enough. What I've said is in vain," Qian Sanyi remarked before riding away.

"You shouldn't look down on other people," Lin Miaomiao muttered, feeling the urge to kick Qian Sanyi.

"Byebye," Sanyi waved goodbye.

"Ah? Goodbye," Lin Miaomiao replied, a little surprised by Sanyi's words.

Then she glanced at her phone. Ye Bai hadn't shown up today, so she messaged him to ask what he was up to.

...

Ye Bai lay sprawled in the ring, panting heavily. Bruises adorned his body, souvenirs from the sparring session with his Auntie Meili.

"Ye Bai, catch." Ye Meili tossed a water bottle to him.

Ye Bai caught it mid-air while still lying down. Slowly, he sat up and examined the bottle his aunt handed him. He noticed it was the same drink he had during Chinese New Year.

As he took a sip, relief flooded his body, invigorating him. Quickly, he rose to his feet, ready for another round. "Aunt Meili, let's spar again."

Ye Meili shook her head. "That's enough. You've just had the Qi Renewal Brew. It's better to rest or meditate," she advised, settling back in her chair.

Ye Bai glanced at the empty bottle, unable to suppress his curiosity. "Qi Renewal Brew, where does it come from?"

Ye Meili glanced at her nephew. "It's a secret family concoction, passed down through generations. Our ancestors crafted this recipe, passing it on to one person per generation. Your grandfather knows it, and perhaps he'll pass it on to me. Since modern times, it's been passed down to family members connected to the military, especially since we're the only ones who supply it."

Ye Bai's eyes sparkled. 'Then does my family on Earth know this recipe?' he wondered, gazing at the bottle in his hand.

In Bluestar, his father and grandfather weren't on good terms. Ye Feng didn't want to join the military, preferring business instead. This caused a rift in the family, leading to Ye Feng being cut off. But here in Youth Pi, he had Grandpa Ye, who was understanding and maintained a relationship with Ye Feng.

Lost in thought, he realized he didn't even know if he had an aunt like Ye Meili or Ye Xinyi. He made a mental note to ask his father about his family in Bluestar.

"What are you thinking?" Ye Meili's voice interrupted his thoughts. Startled, Ye Bai snapped back to attention. "Nothing," he replied.

"Alright, wash up and let's head back," Ye Meili instructed before heading to the female changing room.

Ye Bai followed suit, making his way to the men's changing area to freshen up.
