Chapter 11

While in the car Ares scoffed and thought of what he saw in the orphanage. Few moments before Amelia left the orphanage. Amelia, Ares, Blake and the children were playing when Amelia noticed her wig were coming off and her eyes were hurting from the contact lenses. She excused herself and went to a room.

Ares who became suspicious secretly went after her. He finally saw her in a small empty room but was shocked with what he saw. "Agrhh, this contact lenses are hurting my eyes because I cried too much and this wig is already so tacky. The make up is also coming off. Thankfully I realized before anyone noticed." Amelia cried as she removed the wig and contact lenses, then she washed her makeup off.

Amelia looked at the mirror and sighed. "I wonder how long I can put up with this. I am really tired." Amelia brought out a bag and started applying makeup to her face.

Ares was stunned. "Silver hair and jeweled-like silver eyes. She's the one I have been looking for. I guess my doubts were right." Ares immediately left the room.

When Amelia was done with the make up, she put on her contact lenses and fixed her wig. Then she went to join the others.

Blake called out to Ares who was deep in thoughts. "Ares, Noah called. He said your father wants to know if you have gotten any information yet. Should I tell him that about it?"

Ares sighed and said "Don't tell him about it yet, just tell them we haven't found anything yet. If I tell them and it gets out, many people will be after her. I don't want to lose this opportunity especially to Axel."    Blake nodded and made a quick call.

When Amelia got back home, she hurriedly cleaned the house before anyone came back and cooked for them. When Amber came, she glared at Amelia and stormed to her room.

When everyone came. Amelia served the food. After everyone was done, Amber took the leftovers and threw them away. Amelia had to sleep with an empty stomach.

Amelia went to her room. She brought out Axel's jacket from a drawer. She forgot to give him his jacket because she saw Max. She wanted to give Ares to give it back but she remembered that thier relationship was not that good and Ares might burn it or dump it somewhere so she kept it in her bag. Apart from that, she wanted to give Axel the jacket herself because she wanted to ask of Catherine.

She would have asked of Catherine from Ares but she didn't want him to know what happened that day.

She had already washed and dried the jacket when she came home. She even iron it well and folded it nicely. She planned on giving him tomorrow. Amelia put the jacket in her bag and went to bed.

The next day, when she got to school she looked for Axel and avoided Max but she didn't see him. So she gave up and planned to go to the library after class, hoping to meet him there.

But when she was about to go to class, many girls started to scream and started rushing to the school entrance. She immediately knew it was the Alcott siblings.

Many people started to push and eventually, Amelia was pushed and fell down. Suddenly, a tall figure was in front of her. She looked up to see who it was and noticed it was Axel. He stretched his hands out to help her get up. Amelia took his hand and stood up from the floor.

She could feel many eyes glaring at her. 'Why is it always me? I just wanted a peaceful life in this school but I guess I am asking for too much'. Amelia whispered to Axel "I want to talk to you. Can we go somewhere private?" Axel smirked and took her hand, then he led her to a quiet corner.

Amelia could hear people gossip as they were passing by. When they finally stopped. Amelia sighed a sigh of relief. "Finally" she said. Axel came closer to her and they were centimeters apart Amelia moved back until she hit the wall but he came closer to her again. He grinned and said "What could you possibly want to discuss with me that you prefer to say it in a quiet place where there is no one around. Don't you know that it's not safe for a girl like you."

Amelia gulped. She almost forgot how dangerous this man is. She also haven't gotten used to his handsome face. Her heart was always racing when she was near him. She took a deep breath and gathered some courage to speak. "W-what do y-you mean by t-that? I came to as-sk you something, that's all. So if you have any other thoughts then clear it away from your head."

Axel smirked "Rabbit is becoming more bold by the day." he stepped back and said "You can talk now."

Amelia sighed "Firstly I want to ask how Catherine is. I hope she goes out often. Please I just want to know how she is doing, I won't ask for anything else." Axel looked at her curiosly. He thought she would have already forgotten about Catherine by now and moved on. Why would she want to know her Catherine is doing?

"She is doing fine and she goes out more often but she often says that she misses you." 'I also missed her a lot and I was sad that I couldn't see her but it was enough if she was healthy and okay. She is getting enough care now.' Amelia brought out a paper and gave it to Axel. It was a letter she wrote for Catherine.

"Thank you, I am happy she is doing well. Can you give this to her on my behalf? She might feel better if she gets this. She can write back to me if she wants to tell me anything. I will also be writing to her if she needs my help."

Axel took it and nodded. "Thank you" Amelia thought she heard wrong. "pardon?" Axel came closer and said "Thank you and I never said sorry for trashing your home like that. I am sorry." Amelia beamed with smile and said "No problem, I don't hold any grudge but I am glad you apologized. You are not as bad as I thought."

Axel grinned and whispered to her ear "Hey rabbit, don't think like that or you might end up regretting it. I am not as innocent as you think I am." Amelia flinched, she immediately regretted all her words. "I have a name. A- me-li-a. So you don't have to call me rabbit all the time." Axel grinned and turned "See you later rabbit."

he was about to leave when Amelia suddenly remembered to give him his jacket and called out to him. "Axel wait, your jacket." She brought out the jacket and gave it to him, then she said "Thanks for the jacket and I am sorry I wasn't able to return it sooner."

He patted my head and collected the jacket. He was about to leave the place when Max suddenly approached. When I saw him I ran out. 'I have been trying so hard to avoid him. I hope I won't meet him again'.

Max sighed, Axel put his hand on Max's shoulder and said "If you want to talk to her I can force her." Max looked at Axel. "Don't do anything stupid. I will look for a way to explain to her myself." Axel just walked out and Max followed.

During lunch, Amelia went to the library to look for a book. When she found the book and was about to leave. Max appeared from nowhere.

Amelia dropped the book and was about to run off again but he stopped her.

"Let me go" she said. Max clenched his fist. "Amelia I don't know why you are avoiding me but please here me out. I noticed that you weren't coming to the place we were planning to celebrate Luna's birthday again and you also didn't show up at our graduation. I went to Emily but she didn't tell me about anything so I went to meet Luna and she told me everything that happened. I explained everything to her and even took her to where we were planning the party. She is feeling really guilty Amelia. Especially after she knew about your illness. I am sorry, I knew I promised but I also told her about your illness. No one else knows about it though, not even Axel but She's been looking for you since then and she is thinking her actions might have made your illness trigger."

Amelia scoofed. "Does she think I am that weak? Does she think I will break down because of what she said? Never. I will never be that weak. It would be better if she stops thinking about it and continue living her life peacefully. I am not hurt because of what she said. I am pained because she trusts a stranger's word so much than mine. She knew everything about me. She was the only one that understood what I was going through. Yet she backed down because she believed a stranger. That day I wanted to tell her about my ailment. I needed support that day but at the end I could only hold it in. She promised to always be with me but she left me because of a false rumor. I want you to tell me. If a rumor can cause all what happened how are you sure the same thing won't happen again?"

Max sighed. "Amelia, I know I can't heal your pain but I just wanted you to know Luna isn't living the life you expected her to live. She deeply regrets what she has done. You don't have forgive her just let her see you. Just once, please."

Amelia looked down and said "It would be better if we didn't see each other. I don't want to reopen old wounds and loss control over my emotions again."  'if I see her It might trigger my disease. I don't want that to happen.'

Max sighed "I understand but If you change your mind let me know. Anyway, how have you been lately?"

"I am well and sorry I was hard on you even though none of this was your fault but I still want to know why you broke up with Luna without any reason." I looked at him waiting for an answer.

"To tell you the truth at the beginning I only dated her for selfish reasons but as time went by I realized I really liked her. She really grew on me and I still like her till now. It's just that I don't think I am the right person for her. She deserves someone better. I want her to be happy. There is a reason why Luna and I can't be with each other. If she knows it then she also wouldn't want to be with me." I was angry that Max broke Luna's heart but I didn't know he was also heart broken.

"Well, whatever reason that is I am sure if you explain it to her she might understand. Both of you really like each other. I hope you sort things out."

Max smiled "It is not as easy as you think it is but thanks for your advice. I hope we can still remain friends and you will stop running away from me like I am some kind of disease." Max said as he chuckled

I also laughed and said "Sorry for that, I promise I won't do it again and we can definitely still be friends."

After that I picked up the book and both of us left the library together, Chatting and laughing heartedly.

I hope all of you are enjoying so far. Pls feel free to leave a comment.
