1 The Story Begins

In this world, there is no perfect story...

A story that is created or is of creation could never truly be brought alive because in these stories there is always those few discrepancies, those contradictions that even you won't realise are there. All these come together to place cracks in the foundation of your story, cracks that make it so when you build this 'house' in real life it collapses into a pile of mud and bricks, waiting to be built again.

If it is a story that is written about yourself, you would unconsciously portray yourself as someone grander, more glorious and gallant, majestic. whether your story is about good or evil, you would be the one who is right, your choices, your actions, anything and everything would be displayed in a better light for the readers to understand and join your way of thinking... a way to satisfy your vanity.

How about a story about someone else? even if you were with this person throughout their lives, from the beginning of their story till the end, you still wouldn't be able to fill in the details in the middle. Those details, the key moments that would go on to define the character and personality of this person wouldn't, or more accurately, couldn't be wrote. All because what defines a person, what makes him or her who they are, all happens in their heads. A story is told about you every second, every minute, every hour in our minds...always, from birth to death. The stories that our lives are built from, making us who we are, unique or not.

Many might not agree or have differing opinions about this, but one thing is always true. There is not a greater agony than the bearing of an untold story, keeping it inside of you and letting it slowly rot away... taking you with it.

Zaros looked at the stalactites above his head with dull eyes, he didn't understand how he could end up in such a predicament. His life had been normal until last evening, and now his average life faced an end before even starting.

--------------------------------------------------Flashback--------------------------------------------------

Zaros was considered an average person overall, whether that be his skills or how his life had developed since he was born, the only thing that could make him be considered as unique or different would be that he was an orphan, if 'orphan' could be considered unique or different nowadays...

However, even then he was lucky. The orphanage that Zaros was lucky enough to grow up in, was one that the community around it donated to, probably because it was the only orphanage in the surrounding vicinity. The average amount of children that the orphanage had was always around 30, with the amount being adopted and the amount coming in seeming to have cancelled each other.

Although that was a lot of children to provide for, the orphanage was big allowing it to accommodate all of them and with the support of the community, there was also the minor celebrities. These 'celebrities' would help and donate as a way to gain fame from their kindness, most of them were people from Youtube and Twitch.

With all this support, the children were able to have almost an entirely normal childhood. Zaros would help out at the orphanage for pocket-money, and even got part-time jobs as he grew up until college. if you're thinking he saved this money for the future, he didn't, he squandered most of this money on entertainment, read novels, snacks, watching cartoons and playing games.

He lived this kind of lifestyle until he was able to finish college, after college, he had the option of going to university or getting a job, Zaros decided to get a job, he was about to the age where it was time for him to leave the orphanage, and he needed to earn money to have a place to live. After counting up the money he had saved up, he realised he would only be able to rent a place for about a week at most if it was cheap. Looking back at it now, Zaros realised it was his 'lifestyle' of living freely that was the reason he was in this predicament, if only he had saved instead of used his money.

Zaros decided to search for a job offer he had seen recently. It was an offer to be an apprentice or Greenhorn, on a fishing trawler that would go out to sea for 6 months, and the pay was enough for Zaros to live off and rent a place when he returned, as he searched for other jobs. The job entailed a high amount of work and could also be considered dangerous in some ways, but Zaros thought it was perfect for him and applied for it. His application was accepted and he was told to show up for work, a few weeks before he had to leave the orphanage, Zaros asked the orphanage to hold on to his items until he returns and said goodbye to everyone.

Everything was thought out, but things always seem to have a tendency to not go as planned. Where was Zaros now? he was trapped in a cave... a cave while he was supposed to be out at sea.

Before when things were going as planned, Zaros had already been out at sea for a month, or a few weeks, it was hard to keep track of time. An unexpected storm hit and things got chaotic, all the nets and cages had to be reeled back in and Zaros helped. Well, he thought he helped, one-second Zaros was helping and the next he was in the sea, he didn't know-how.

"HOLD ON!!" - Deck crew A

"MEN OVERBOARD!!!" - Deck crew B

Zaros realised he wasn't alone and others were in the sea with him, but he couldn't focus on that as he was struggling to keep himself from drowning. Zaros thought about holding his breath and going underwater to avoid the crashing of the waves and fierce winds, but that was a mistake. Although he was able to avoid the waves and wind, the current was too strong and he ended up being dragged further away from the ship. However, what was worse was that he couldn't get back to the surface to breathe and before he knew it, he passed out.

Waking up coughing Zaros discovered himself to be in this cave. The moss of the cave provided a weird multicoloured light, allowing Zaros to see his surroundings. Zaros lay on one end, on top of the moss, and on the other end was a small pool, the cave was small and that's all it had. Zaros knew no one would be able to find him in such a location so he had to get out, he walked towards the pool and looked at it.

The diameter of the pool was 2 meters and in the middle of this pool, was a hole with a diameter of 1 meter. Having no choice Zaros jumped in and tried to swim through the hole, the hole was dark and before he could even travel into the hole he felt the pressure dramatically increase forcing him back.

His hand that had entered the hole, was in extreme pain and felt as if it was crushed. but nothing was showing on the outside, with no other choice Zaros came out of the pool and lay back down on the moss.

-----------------------------------------------Flashback-End------------------------------------------------

Zaros' eyes were dull because he had concluded that he was in the sea, but deep enough where the pressure could kill him before he could do anything. The hole that was supposed to be his way out, was now only what it looked like, an abyss or void that he couldn't enter. He had barely entered it with his hand before it felt like it was crushed, one thing he didn't understand was how he was able to arrive this deep without dying...

"[Maybe they will be able to find me, if I was able to reach it other could too, yeah that it, I just need to wait and people will come to find me.]" - Zaros

An hour later.

"[FUCK! why hasn't anyone come? don't tell me those fuckers forgot about me or didn't even bother! fuck this shit, I was so nice to them as well, I should have told the captain how they all curse him behind his back, that would have showed them. ill do that once I get back.]" - Zaros

A few hours? later.

"[They couldn't really have forgotten about me right? No, it's probable they're having difficulty finding this place, but they should find it soon...]" - Zaros

An unknown amount of time later.

"[No... no... no... I'm going to die...]" - Zaros

Time is a concept.

"[fine, If I'm going to die, I'm going to die, but I should find an easier way than slowly starving to death, I prefer a faster and easier death than that.]" - Zaros

sitting up Zaros looked around for something to use, but besides the moss and pool, there was nothing else in the cave. laying back down he started to think but couldn't come up with anything, feeling drowsy he decided to sleep, after all, he wasn't going anywhere.

END.
