4 Tutorial [2]

Elliott began to walk down the dark corridor on high alert, as he did not know what kind of traps awaited him, and one mistake meant death.

Elliott continued to walk with his guard up for a period and nothing happened and he began to relax and walk more confidently. Completely forgetting what kind of place the tower was.

Now, Elliott was walking with more confidence, forgetting by complement to be alert, well it is understandable that he is confident not recently he was begging for his life after cleaning some shoes with his tongue and he is not aware of how dangerous the tower is.

Elliott was underestimating the tutorial because he has walked for a few minutes and still nothing has happened.

This was all part of the tutorial. Humans are creatures that get overconfident very quickly and lose focus very easily. And trusting yourself in a place full of danger is like knocking death at your door.

Elliott kept going until...

*Twish*

Out of nowhere, an arrow shot out of the darkness.

Elliott intuitively moved his body to the side.

The arrow grazed past his left cheek. He could feel a searing pain.

*Whoosh*

"Shit, a goddamn steel arrow!

Coming quickly back to himself, Elliott nervously looked at the arrow stuck in the wall.

The arrow didn't have any wooden parts; it was completely steel.

The arrow would have taken his head off if it had hit him squarely. He almost died from walking confidently in a place full of danger.

Elliott goes on high alert and looks around cautiously.

*Whoosh* *Whoosh* *Whoosh*

Steel arrows flew at him in succession, all from different directions.

It was impossible to block them at the same time.

Elliott ducked and rolled on the ground like an armadillo. And at the same time, he tried to dodge all the arrows using his enhanced senses.

*Puck* *Puck* *Puck*

Three arrows had stuck in the ground right behind him as if the goddess of luck had blessed him.

But they did not spare him from the impact the arrows made. He felt the air from the arrows cut him. Two of them grazed his sword and tore the rags he had as clothes.

He rose slowly from the ground so as not to activate any mechanism and leaned against the wall.

Elliott was in a situation where he didn't know from where he was being attacked. He thought not to waste his physical stamina uselessly. It was something that happens a lot in the protagonists of novels.

However, it seems that fate is playing a joke on him...

*Schlick*

"Oh, shit..."

There seemed to be a mechanism in the wall, not just at the front, but everywhere in this room.

Before he could react, there was already an arrow stuck in his right leg.

"AHHHHH!"

At that moment, Elliot let out a small groan from the horrible pain he felt in his leg.

Despite the terrible pain, Elliott gritted his teeth and tried to turn his body, but...

*Puck* *Puck* *Puck* *Puck*

Once again, the arrows came out of the darkness, tearing his clothes, and penetrating his shoulder, forearm, and ribs.

[A fierce pain invades your body. You have entered a stunned state.]

[Your bloodline trait 'cold blood' helped you to maintain your composure by being activated.]

Thanks to the trait effect 'cold blood', you have come out of the stunned state. And you have developed resistance to pain].

Elliott felt as if his arm was being torn, and he could not breathe properly.

Elliott, despite having all this pain, his mind was calmer than ever.

We have activated a better understanding.

Elliott was unfamiliar with pain. He gritted his teeth and held on tightly to his awareness.

Elliott began to review his current condition.

' the parts where the arrows are stuck are my shoulder, forearm, my leg, and ribs. Shit! my condition is not very good, but I can still move'.

He tore some of his clothes and put them on his leg so he wouldn't lose so much blood.

'It seems that it triggered the traps when I reach a specific area or when I trigger it myself.

That means there are some areas that don't have traps, but that's the problem, not knowing where those safe areas are.

It seems like the difficulty is increasing the further he went.

Elliott got up with great difficulty from the ground and leaned against the wall, but this time he didn't set off any traps.

Already when Elliott leaned against the wall, his head began to spin and he was starting to lose consciousness.

[Your wounds are bleeding severely.]

[Your bloodline trait 'cold-blooded' has helped you maintain your composure.]

[Because of your severe bleeding. You have developed resistance to bleeding.]

Elliott, thanks to his bloodline traits, managed to maintain consciousness.

It was almost by instinct that his body had carried him to this point. If you lose consciousness here, it is certain death.

Elliott sat down on the ground and stuffed a piece of rag in his mouth. And began to pull out the arrows he had in his body.

"HHHHHHHHHH!"

As expected, Elliott felt pain as if his whole body was going through an awakening.

After pulling out the arrows, blood began to gush from his wounds. He quickly begins to make a makeshift bandage out of the clothes he was wearing to stop the bleeding.

Elliott again began to feel dizzy from the loss of blood.

[His bloodline trait 'cold-blooded' has helped him maintain his composure].

Impacting his body, fortunately, they found no broken bones, which allowed him to move instinctively.

Elliott could barely catch his breath after treating his injuries.

"Ha...ha...ha...!"

All of Elliott's strength was drained from his body, and he felt very weak.

"Shit... and this is just the tutorial and I'm already about to die about how the next floors will be."

Shock overwhelmed Elliott. He wanted to curse himself for being so trusting.

He knew the tower was a dangerous place, but he didn't think it would be that dangerous.

"I'm glad this body has dragon blood and the body is more resilient. Otherwise, I would have gone crazy from the pain."

Elliott was actually grateful for the traits that this body's bloodline brought.

Because he was not someone with a strong mentality, to begin with, before he reincarnated, he cleaned a shoe with his tongue just to live. But now, he felt mentally stronger, and, thanks to those traits; he was able to make a quick judgment in a death situation like this.

After sitting for a while, Elliott put his thoughts in order.

'There is a specific time for each arrow shot. There is also a subtle change in the environment.'

Elliott realized this thanks to his enhanced senses.

Elliott closes his eyes.

He had to figure out the timing of the arrow's departure. The traps loaded with arrows had a combination of multiple devices.

Sensors would pick up someone approaching, swarms would spin to gauge direction, and finally, they would launch steel arrows in the indicated direction.

'But because of the darkness and my body in bad shape, it is impossible for me to detect an arrow with the naked eye. But first I have to be attentive to the sound emitted by the swarm of wheels, and so I can predict where the arrow is coming from.'

It amazed Elliott how he understood his surroundings so quickly every little detail and finding a solution so quickly 'cold-blooded' 'better understanding' has helped Elliott a lot in these difficult times.

Elliott closed his eyes again and concentrated on the sounds.

[They activated the strengthening of the senses. Your sense of hearing has improved.]

[The proficiency of the skill 'Strengthening of the senses' has increased. 0.9%.]

Elliott tried to concentrate on all the sounds he could hear amidst the silence.

But it was an extremely difficult task. It's not easy to differentiate sounds among dozens of them.

*Plaf*

*Plaf*

I hear some drops dripping from the ceiling.

*Rattle* *Click*.

He also vaguely heard the sound of arrows being reloaded.

It was a long time before...

*Crunch*

'That's it!'

Something from the place let out a rusty creaking sound. Definitely a swarm of wheels.

Elliott opened his eyes and threw some of the arrows he had nearby.

*Disk*

*Crunching sound*

The arrow stuck deep somewhere in the ceiling, and soon broken swarms and arrows fell.

'If I could find them.'

Elliott's eyes sparkled.

The skill wasn't perfect. There were drawbacks to getting rid of your other senses and concentrating only on hearing, but Elliott's greatest achievement was that he found a way past this trap.

Elliott forced his body off the ground. His whole body screamed in pain, but thanks to his trait, he was able to keep his mind calm.

Elliott could barely move. His body was a mess.

Elliott managed to take slow steps, miraculously avoiding the traps that were set.

*Whistling

I fired a steel arrow once more.

'Left shoulder'

Elliott, who narrowly managed to predict where the arrow was going by the sound he heard, tried to turn his body to the side, trying to dodge the arrow.

*Puaj*.

The arrow narrowly missed Elliott's shoulder and was completely stuck in the wall.

'Yeah, I managed to predict that damn arrow!'

Elliott clenched his fists tightly, knowing he wasn't wrong.

[The proficiency of the skill 'sense strengthening' has increased. 1,7%.]

Elliott, feeling confident, didn't delay any longer and continued walking down the hallway.

*Swish* *Swish* *Swish*

Three arrows were shot out in order from the top, to bottom, and each aimed at vital signs: head, heart, and abdomen.

Elliott dodged the arrows by turning his body and stepping forward at the same time.

*Metallic sound*.

The arrow quivered, producing a pleasant sound.

His hand hurt a lot, but his heart started beating as if he was doping.

[Your proficiency in the skill ' sense strengthening' has increased. 2,2%.]

[Your strength has increased by 1.]

[Your skill has increased by 2]

A notification message of the increased skill and attributes appeared to him.

'If my strength and dexterity have increased... status window.'

[Climber: Elliott]

Bloodline traits: cold-blooded, Improved understanding.

Skills: Dragon eyes (0.0%), Sense enhancement (2.2%).

"really increased my attributes."

Elliott showed a satisfied smile. since increasing your abilities is a difficult task in his old world and here it seems he can increase them by putting your life at risk.

'Now I can enhance my attributes, but the only problem is that I have to put my life at risk.'
