69 The Reign's power

There was a mutual feeling of deep hatred between the young vampiress and the crow. And it all started when Kione first found the bird.

Some relatives of the Reign's had come over for a tiny get-together, and the little vampiress wanted to show off her brother's bird by petting it in front of their cousins.

"Are you sure it is safe to touch it? Kione is not around." Her cousin, Juliet, had whispered out her hesitation when Violet decided. "It might hurt you." Juliet warned.

"What if Kione is not here? I'm his sister. His stupid bird should have known that much by now." Violet stated it proudly. Her back straightened, and her shoulders were squared.

"Come on, Juliet. Why do you want to spoil things? I am sure Vi can handle it." Another one of their cousins said. His eyes shifted to where the crow was kept, and he finally said, "It is just a bird, after all."

Violet snorted. "I know, right?" She turned away from Juliet and left her standing there.
