74 A boy's confession

DANG! DANG!

Belle, who walked almost along the same street as the church house, heard its bell being rung multiple times. She had wanted to get a rosary one of the days, but it seems it was not today as she was already running late to return home.

Proceeding with her walk, she soon came to stop in front of the shop where some street snacks were being sold, and she studied them before buying them.

From where she stood, Belle found a councilwoman talking to Kione. And she assumed they were close, despite the fact that Kione only nodded or answered with a few words.

She was about to walk away when she felt a light tug on her dress. Her eyes trailed from the small hand on her dress to the familiar face of a little boy.

Eli Wells.

How could she forget him?

"Eli." She smiled and lowered herself to his height.

The boy returned her smile for the first time since she met him.
